This is a virtually perfect 1987 Mercedes Benz 560 SEC. This car runs new and needs absolutely nothing. Produced from 1986 until1991, the 560 SEC was the coupe version of the Mercedes Benz flagship S-Class series. Based on the classic W126 body, the 560 SEC is a driver's car. It features the M117.968 5.6 L V8 DOHC engine, with 295 HP and 335 ft lbs of torque to the rear wheels. As the top of the line model for Mercedes, this 560 SEC includes a number of safety and comfort features only just now becoming common in other makes and models, including; Driver airbag, 4 speed automatic,cruise control, sunroof, heated rear window, automatic climate control, dual heated seats, cruise control, and a self-leveling rear end.

This car is currently owned by a Mercedes Benz collector and enthusiast, and has been meticulously maintained without regard to cost. At about 69,000 miles, this car presents as new. The leather is soft and supple (not the usual hardening of the leather), virtually as the day it left the factory. Both seat belt extenders work perfectly. The carpeting, door panels, rear deck and dash are all in perfect condition. The body in this car is absolutely flawless, as is all of the bright work. There are no nicks, scratches or dents. As the photographs note, the tires are almost new.

The car runs flawlessly. It shifts precisely, brakes without the slightest shudder and cruise works flawlessly. The car presents as a new vehicle. Maybe the lowest mileage 560 extant. German carmakers recall 630,000 diesel vehicles in Europe

Mercedes, Opel, Porsche, and Volkswagen will recall over 630,000 cars in Europe, according to reports Friday. No diesel car has been able to get under the legal emissions limit in real-world driving, according to a German government investigation. While only Volkswagen Group has been using a specific "defeat device", other carmakers have been playing with their exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) systems. Depending of the manufacturer, the systems have been cut off at a certain temperature. In a specific test cycle the systems operate to fulfill the legal requirements, but in everyday use the limits are exceeded. According to the magazine Der Spiegel, the supplier Bosch is behind this programming and has provided it to all German automakers. The mentioned carmakers have announced recalls, but many other manufacturers are also mentioned by name in the report, including Alfa Romeo, Chevrolet, Dacia, Fiat, Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar, Jeep, Land Rover, Nissan, Renault, and Suzuki. PSA Group, which produces Peugeot, Citroen, and DS cars, declared yesterday that its offices were raided following an emissions investigation. Mercedes-Benz killing Maybach in 2013, replacing with S600 Pullman

According to an unnamed Mercedes-Benz source speaking with AutoWeek, the German automaker is killing off its Maybach line in 2013.
The unsurprising news comes after the brand was resurrected in 2002, but failed to meet sales expectations with its two core models, the Maybach 57 and 62. Further solidifying its fate, a deal with Aston Martin to aid in the development of future Maybachs fell through earlier this year.
According to the AutoWeek insider, the plan is to continue to sell both Maybach models through the end of 2013, after which the fifth-generation S-Class will go on sale. When that happens, three new variants of the S-Class will be available, including an all-new, range-topping S600 that brings back the Pullman moniker and may be better suited to competing with the likes of Bentley and Rolls-Royce.

Now Even Sharper Than The Razor's Edge
There have been five Black Series models since the Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG Black Series introduced itself to European audiences in 2006. Following that, the Black Series club has hosted appearances by the 2008 CLK63 AMG Black Series, the 2009 SL65 AMG Black Series and last year's 2013 C63 AMG Black Series. The sixth member of the group is one we would have thought already was a Black Series car in its standard guise. Right out of the box, the SLS AMG is loud, frenetic, cozy, boisterous and frightfully easy to oversteer. How much more Black did it need to get?
Quite a bit so, apparently. The SLS AMG Black Series has lost weight, gained power and been refitted with upgrades and aero bits from front to rear. If you liked the way it looked before, you'll probably be an even bigger fan of this one. If you thought it looked ungainly, well, this one should stay even further away from pageants. Regardless of where you come down this is the best SLS AMG variant we've driven.
