General Description:

This 1986 Mercedes 560 SEC is in overall solid condition, it runs and drives well with no known mechanical issues. It is far from perfect, however, and is missing various trim pieces, with some others being damaged. These are disclosed and photographed below to the best of my knowledge.

This vehicle is in solid, working order, and is operable in its current condition, but, as mentioned above, could use additional work to be returned to original condition. The car has an aftermarket head unit installed, and the original stereo is included as well.

Repairs:

This car was issued a salvage title due to light front end collision damage. The primary damage has been fixed and the car has been issued a reconstructed title, ready to be transferred into the state of your choosing and driven just the same as a clean title.

Specific Defects:

As mentioned, the car has various blemishes and damaged trim pieces, all of which are pictured below. These include a busted grille, missing passenger headlight trim, a missing driver's side mirror cover, various light scratches and chips in the paint, and a few missing interior trim pieces. There is a rust bubble forming on the driver's side rear fender, which is pictured below. The paint is in overall decent condition, but appears to have been applied improperly, and the car could use a full respray at some point in the future. Additionally, the interior does show signs of wear, particularly on the passenger seat, which has creases and tears in the leather. The power window motors are problematic; the passenger window will neither raise nor lower, while the driver's window will lower but struggles to raise. The top of the dash is in poor condition, which is not visible in the pictures below due to the included dash cover. Actual mileage is unknown as does not appear to be functional, being stuck on 76,044.

Current Condition:

This car is in overall good condition, both mechanically and cosmetically, and runs and drives well. With a little care and attention, it could be returned to fantastic condition, or would make a perfect parts car for another project. I've done my best to disclose all known problems, but feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.

Mercedes C-Class Coupe due to go on sale next December

While we expect to see the coming Mercedes C-Class convertible sometime next year, perhaps at the Paris Motor Show, Auto Motor und Sport reports that the C-Class Coupe will go on sale in December 2015 (probably in Europe first) - it's possible we'll see it debuted at the same time as the cabrio. The German magazine says the two-door will have sharper lines on a body that is four inches longer, almost two inches wider and a fraction of an inch lower than the sedan, dimensional aggrandizement that will be put to good effect on the AMG version coming in 2016. We'll have to wait for information on powertrains, which should hew to the sedan's lineup in addition to whatever else M-B might bring over here, topped off by the 503-horsepower, twin-turbo V8 in the AMG variant. Speaking of which, the 'last-generation' C63 AMG Coupe is still on sale until spring of next year, if you're a fan of the classics. Or you can wait on news of the C-Class four-door coupe, if niches inside of niches are what you're really after.

Mercedes widens luxury sales gap on strong early CLA demand

Mercedes-Benz CLA sales have been booming, with the Stuttgart-based manufacturer moving 2,300 of the sleek four-doors in its first week on sale. That is astonishing. Mercedes moved nearly twice as many CLAs (which start at $29,900) in one week than Jaguar, a brand that is on a very solid roll, sold in all of September. Ignoring the price differences between the Jag line and the CLA, that is still wildly impressive.
Mercedes has been pushing the CLA in television ads, using a shortened version of its Super Bowl spot, which starred William Dafoe, Usher and Kate Upton. "As the bargain entrance into the Mercedes portfolio, we weren't sure how luxury buyers would react," Kelly Blue Book auto analyst Alec Gutierrez told Bloomberg.
The CLA push was just part of MB's 6.7-percent increase in September sales, which were also helped along by a 17-percent jump in E-Class sales. That surge has allowed Mercedes to widen its 2013 sales lead over its rival, BMW, to 2,491 cars, according to Bloomberg. If CLA sales continue at this rate, we can only expect that margin to grow.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class interior caught in spy shots

With the redesigned 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class getting closer to production, the camera-wielding crew over at Autospies somehow managed to get inside of the car to snap some detailed spy shots. As the prototypes continue to shed camouflage, it would appear that Mercedes-Benz is getting closer to unveiling the car, and with the Geneva and New York auto shows coming up, it could be sooner rather than later.
From what we can see of this car's interior, the overall look of the S-Class' cabin isn't a ground-breaking departure from the current car, but it has been completely redesigned with more advanced technology. The styling is now even more upscale with larger swaths of wood, more shapely door panels (without the built-in armrest cubbies) and the concept-like two-spoke steering wheel. The highlight of this car though is probably the two massive digital screens with one being used for driver information and the other used for navigation, audio and infotainment systems. One other detail we noticed about this car is that it was equipped with the new 360-degree camera that debuted on the new GL-Class and will also be used on the 2014 E-Class. We also know that the next-gen S-Class will be getting the new cloud-based MBrace2 infotainment system.
As for the exterior design, it looks like the next S-Class will carry a similar profile as the current car, but we can see through the camouflage that the new styling will fit in better with current Mercedes-Benz products. Up front, the grille is much larger is flanked by aggressive LED-trimmed headlights, while the rear view of the car shows us the LED brake light now at the top of the rear window, a more pointed trunk opening and a more squared-off rear fascia with exhaust outlets pushed to the corners.
