INCLUDES ORIGINAL OWNER'S MANUALS (4 books), copies of recent MAINTENANCE/REPAIR RECORDS (last 6 years), PLUS OTHER ITEMS I HAVE COLLECTED: CHILTON REPAIR MANUAL, PARTS LIST, OTHER ASSORTED SALES LITERATURE AND REPAIR MANUALS (valued at hundreds of dollars for the collection, included free with purchase), a few SPARE PARTS, CUSTOM NAME PLATE AND FLOOR MATS. May even include my collection of 80's cassettes for the right buyer!
Includes both soft and hard top, full-size spare on Mercedes rim, original first-aid kit and toolkit. A/C, cruise, leather. Very good condition, Lady-driven, mostly-summer car. Everything works except ORIGINAL cassette deck doesn't play and antenna is stuck. My favourite eBay parts supplier recommended having the cassette deck rebuilt, but I like the radio just fine. Will include replacement antenna to install yourself. Also have extra set of turn signals, since these tend to take a beating due to their location on the car.
Has needed very little in the way of repairs while I've had it, comparable to an average, much-younger car. I have loved and cared for this car since 2007, and am, to my knowledge, only the third owner of this car. My Dad had purchased it from a dealership (part of an estate sale I think, it had been parked for years) and had it for only a few months before I talked him into selling it to me. Now I''ve bought an older home and need a new furnace, hot water tank, paint, flooring, bathroom…and no longer have a garage in which to store this lovely old girl during the winter. And so must part with this luxurious, safe, surprisingly fun beauty.
CAVEATS:
* Original paint has had significant touch-ups laid over top, due to inevitable dings in paint from driving on Alberta highways, parking where careless people also park, and life in general. Paint was custom-blended to match the original using the proper colour code. It needs a good sanding/buffing/polishing, for which I can include a small collection of products and even a buffing machine.
** I have had 3 small panels replaced, namely in front of and behind the rear wheel on the driver's side and under the rear bumper. This was part of a rust remediation done in the spring of 2012, in which the rocker panels were also sandblasted and recoated. Parts used were taken from a Mercedes of the same vintage, so everything is still correct. There is a small spot of rust on each side near the rear wheel, I can take closeup photos of that or anything else you'd like details on. There is rust in the front end as well, I have treated everything I can reach in the front end with a rust inhibitor spray. My "car guy" father assures me this is normal and not substantial, I can take some closeup photos if needed. Even so, I dropped the price by $2000 from my previous, well-researched asking price to compensate you in advance for any trouble.
***Generally, needs a little TLC, as would be expected with any classic car, but overall in very good condition. Not in mint condition, but those that are generally run about double my asking price.Truly, an excellent value for the quality and condition of the vehicle. If you would like more specifics, please email me. I have found eBay to be a great source for parts when needed, so if you are inclined to pretty her up to impress your friends, coworkers or the local classic car club, or just that special someone, you can always do a little tinkering.
All statements are true in my opinion and to the best of my knowledge.
I will cooperate with you to have vehicle inspected locally if requested.
I work for a living and am moving plus renovating, so please be patient if I do not answer inquiries immediately.
I will make every effort to respond quickly to any queries.
By the way, her name is "Betty Blue."

Recharge Wrap-Up: No new Smart Roadster, Africa to UK on one tank, Duke's efficient axial engine [w/videos]
Sat, Jul 19 2014Smart will not make another generation of the Roadster, but a Smart SUV might be in the cards. According to Smart's CEO, Annette Winkler, "The Roadster isn't a profitable business case. Everybody is keen on the car, but nobody wants to pay the bill." What Car? states that Smart is likely planning a baby SUV to take on the Nissan Juke and its ilk. But for the immediate future, Winkler says Smart "must focus on how we can maximize potential of the Fortwo and Forfour. That is strategy number one." Read more over at What Car?. A Mercedes-Benz E300 Bluetec Hybrid made the 1,223-mile trek from Africa to the UK on just one tank of fuel. Driven by Andrew Frankel of Autocar, the diesel hybrid left Tangier, Morocco with a full tank of gas (using the optional 80-liter fuel tank), and arrived in Goodwood with the car indicating 100 miles of range left. Frankel and his co-driver averaged 61.2 miles per gallon (73.6 mpg UK) on the intercontinental journey through four countries, despite elevation changes and a traffic jam. See the first video below for more information, or check out the article at Carscoops. Duke Engines promises simplicity and efficiency from the axial engine it's developing. Rather than lining up the cylinders, this engine arranges them in a circle, which allows Duke to avoid unnecessary weight. The five-cylinder, four-stroke motor manages the same amount of powerstrokes per revolution as a standard six-cylinder mill, but weighs 30 percent less. It also has much fewer parts, says Duke. Its high compression ratios mean more power with less fuel, which adds up to more efficiency and fewer emissions. The second of the two videos below, which we first found over at Sploid, explains Duke's axial engine. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Mercedes takes VW Westfalia Camper idea upscale with new Marco Polo
Wed, 09 Jul 2014Earlier this year, Mercedes-Benz revealed the new V-Class. Slotting in below the popular Sprinter, the new V-Class replaced both the Viano and Vito upon its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. But Mercedes isn't quite done with it just yet. At the upcoming Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, Germany, Mercedes will reveal the Marco Polo - a versatile, stylish and decidedly contemporary take on the classic camper van.
Named after the famous Italian explorer, the Marco Polo was converted by Westfalia, an outfit which you might more closely associate with classic VW camper vans but which Daimler absorbed over a decade ago. Offering, according to the press release below, "a maximum of opportunities to be independent, free and spontaneous," the Marco Polo sleeps four thanks to the rear bench that electrically folds flat into a bed and the second berth under the pop-top. The flexible interior is decked out like you'd expect a modern Mercedes to be, with ambient LED lighting as well as wood, metal and piano black trim.
It's got an onboard kitchenette with two gas burners, a sink and fridge with a 10 gallons of fresh water and an even bigger waste tank. All that gear is shlepped around by a choice of four-cylinder turbodiesel engines ranging in output from 136 to 190 horsepower. The relatively compact form boasts a turning circle similar to a full-size sedan and a height designed to fit into most garages and car washes. All of which just might make us reconsider the appeal of traveling by camper van.
Weekly Recap: Toyota propels hydrogen fuel cells
Sat, Jan 10 2015Toyota is serious about hydrogen fuel cells, and it wants the auto industry to follow suit. The Japanese automaker said this week it's releasing 5,680 fuel cell patents from around the world, including technologies used on its upcoming sedan, the 2016 Mirai. The move is unusual, but not unprecedented, as Tesla similarly released its electric vehicle patents last year. The idea for Tesla, and now for Toyota, is to spur development of alternative propulsion. "By eliminating traditional corporate boundaries, we can speed the development of new technologies and move into the future of mobility more quickly, effectively and economically," said Bob Carter, Toyota Motor Sales senior vice president of automotive operations, in a statement. Toyota's fuel cell patents will be free to use through 2020, though patents related to producing and selling hydrogen will remain open forever. Toyota said it would like companies that use its patents to share their own hydrogen patents, but won't require it. "What Toyota's doing is really a logical move, and really a good move for the industry," Devin Lindsay, principal powertrain analyst with IHS Automotive, told Autoblog. The announcement was made at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. It comes as Toyota prepares to launch the hydrogen-powered Mirai in a limited number late this year in California. The launch will be extended to the Northeastern United States next year. Toyota also has announced plans to support networks of fueling stations in each region to try to smooth consumer adoption. The Mirai has a 300-mile range on a tank of hydrogen, and it takes about five minutes to refill. Fuel cells have been receiving increased attention recently, and Audi and Volkswagen debuted hydrogen-powered cars at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Honda, another proponent of the technology, also showed its updated FCV concept in November in Japan. The company, however, has delayed its fuel cell sedan a year until 2016. Like Toyota, Honda says its hydrogen-powered car will have a range of 300 miles or more. Meanwhile, Hyundai currently offers leases for fuel-cell powered Tucsons, which have a 265-mile range, in Southern California. Despite the optimism some automakers have for fuel cells, the technology still faces barriers. A lack of filling stations has long held it back, and many consumers are not familiar with the potential benefits.
