63,117 Mile One Family Owner(s). 1st Owner 34 years until passing. The Vehicle spent it's entire life in semi arid Colorado and was used for Sunday brunches and special occasions only, weather permitting. Kept in a heated garage when not in use and has NEVER spent a night outside nor was it ever smoked in.
Complete factory equipment vehicle to include Sunroof, Becker Mexico Cassette and 5 factory Alloy wheels. Complete set of books, tool kit (red canvas pouch is flawed), factory 1st Aid Kit and a Car cover are included.
Performs as a well maintained 63K mile Mercedes vehicle should with everything operational to include the clock. Climate Control blows cold on demand.
Vehicle is 100% near flawless and original except for mechanical wear items and a Mercedes warranty paint job in 1980 for two stage checking (very common problem for Mercedes of that era with metallic paint) The paint job has endured well with no flaws or fading and excellent luster. There are (2) 1" light scratches that have been touched up - no chips or other flaws. NEVER any body metal damage. The undercarriage shows as a 3 year old car would.
The engine compartment and hood under padding are totally original and have never been cleaned. There is no evidence of improper parts or repairs.
The trunk compartment is totally original with the jack having never been used. The supple rubber mat and carpeting are original and flawless. The spare is a full size Alloy wheel with a new Michelin. There are no signs of surface rust or staining. (picture shows what appears to be rust staining - it is not but rather upholstery cement or ?) The trunk has never been cleaned other than by vacuum.
The 100% Original Interior Leather, Vinyl panels, Wood, Headliner, Bright Metal parts, Sun visors and Carpeting are flawless. The leather is supple with no wear marks or scuffs. The seat rolls and seams are intact.
I am the son in law of the original owner. After his passing, I had the vehicle shipped to NJ and had the following work done prior to offering it for sale: Safety items checked - All mechanical and accessories checked for proper operation - Fluids changed - All filters changed - Rubber fuel lines and fuel pump replaced - 5 New Michelin tires in the proper size - New battery & a wax job. The vehicle did not really need most of the aforementioned but I wanted nothing to apologize for.
CARFAX has no history of the vehicle due to it's age. Sophisticated scrutiny will verify all representations.
This vehicle can be driven anywhere with complete confidence. If you elect to fly and drive, I will provide transportation from Newark (EWR) Airport.
Please feel free to call me with questions at 908 872 7356 (8:am to 11:pm EDT X 7)

Race recap: 2016 Australian F1 Grand Prix a rowdy start to season
Mon, Mar 21 2016The three brief Formula 1 tests ahead of the current season belied how much had gone on since the last race in November: Infiniti subbed out for Tag Heuer, Renault is back, the all new Haas F1 team, a revamped Manor, three brand new drivers and two returning drivers, a raft of regulation changes among the newly tilled soil. The four engine manufacturers spent a combined 67 tokens among the 138 in the kitty, Renault using just seven of their 32. The only conclusive proof to come from the annual intermission was the otherworldly capability of Mercedes-AMG Petronas. The Silver Arrows didn't even try the super- and ultra-soft tires, focusing on reliability instead of speed. The result? They ran more than 19 race distances, obliterating the lap totals of every other team. There are certainly a few people who enjoyed the complicated new rolling-elimination qualifying format fast-tracked to approval just a few weeks ago. They were wildly outnumbered by those who thought it was awful, including the same team heads who voted for it. We'd probably have to go back to the debacle at the 2005 Indianapolis Grand Prix for an equivalent fiasco when Michelin pulled its teams over safety fears, leaving six cars out of 20 to qualify. In Australia, within 24 hours of the conclusion of qualifying, the new format had itself been eliminated. Nevertheless, qualifying also taught us what didn't happen over the winter: any other team progressing enough to outduel Mercedes. After admitting that he dropped off after winning the championship last year, then getting questioned in the press for some dubious off-season activities, Lewis Hamilton proved he can still turn it on when he wants to. The Brit smoked the Albert Park track in 1:23.837, more than three-tenths of a second ahead of teammate Nico Rosberg in second place. Ferrari did make strides during the off-season, but only enough to keep the same gap it had to Mercedes last year: Sebastian Vettel lined up third, a half-second behind Rosberg, teammate Kimi Raikkonen another four-tenths back in fourth place. Max Verstappen said Toro Rosso is the best of the rest, the Dutchman taking fifth place in front of Felipe Massa for Williams in sixth and Toro Rosso teammate Carlos Sainz in sixth. Daniel Ricciardo – who wasn't smiling after qualifying – kept Red Bull and its new "Tag Heuer" engines in the conversation with eighth on the grid.
Autoblog fan favorite car ads from Super Bowl XLIX
Mon, Feb 2 2015Super Bowl XLIX is in the books, and the New England Patriots emerged victorious. Of course, if you're like us, the big game wasn't so much about the battle between the east coast and west, so much as a fight between the world's automotive advertisers. We collected and collated all of last night's new ads and put them together for you to vote on. And yes, we're limiting this year's contest to last night's new features. That's why you aren't seeing Dodge's epic Wisdom among our collection of commercials, and it's a similar story with Chevrolet's Truck Guy Focus Group series, which highlights the new Colorado. You can still vote for your favorites. We won't be closing the voting on our Super Bowl page, so while the winners and losers are correct as of this writing, it's entirely possible that there could be some changes in the rankings as time goes on. So, without any further ado, here are the winning ads based on your voting. Nissan: With Dad Fiat: Ready For Action Jeep: Beautiful Lands BMW: Newfangled Idea Mercedes-Benz: Fable NASCAR: America Start Your Engines As for those ads that failed to impact you, loyal readers, Toyota was the absolute, undisputed loser. The Japanese brand ran four ads in total – two for Toyota and two for Lexus – and all of them have negative tallies as of this writing. Lexus' Make Some Noise and Lets Play and Toyota's One Bold Choice and My Bold Dad both had very weak showings among the commercials that aired, although they weren't alone. Neither Mazda nor Kia scored particularly well, despite featuring celebrity magic act Penn and Teller and former James Bond, Pierce Brosnan, respectively. Chevrolet was the winner of the losers, as of our writing, recording the fewest downvotes for its audience-punking The Big Game ad. If you want to take a second look at the losing ads, you can head back to our Super Bowl page for the complete collection. But for now, head into Comments and let us know what you think of the results.
Rare Isdera Imperator 108i flexes its considerable muscles
Mon, 05 Aug 2013The Isdera Imperator 108i is a remarkably rare supercar from the late 80s and early 90s. Born of a Mercedes-Benz concept car, it's powered by a range of AMG-developed V8s, with five to six liters of displacement, depending on the engine. The example shown here, lapping the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit, features the most potent 6.0-liter V8 available. And rather than just being driven about on a perfectly clean racing line, it's freaking power sliding!
Yes, there's something eternally childlike about a wedge-shaped supercar from our formative years being flung about a Belgian racetrack. Adding to the appeal is the Imperator's stumpy, periscopic rear mirror, sticking out of the roof. Even after being out of production for 20 years, this is still a wild, wild car and we'd happily snap up the opportunity pilot one of the 36 Isderas that were built. Take a look below for the full video from Spa.
