Mercedes Benz 300td 1987 6cyl Vegtable Oil Kit Turbo Diesel Blue W124 Wagon on 2040-cars
Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States
This is an awesome car with a couple great things about it and a couple bad.
It needs some welding by the front left strut...is the reason I'm selling. Bottom of spare tire well rusted - sunroof doesn't work but doesn't leak either. Rear of second door on driver's side needs some attention. Blower motor needs to be replaced - I have the part Other than that the frame is completely solid Starts right up - speedo/tack work Lots of new parts. 3 of 4 windows work (driver's side - rear doesn't), turbo works, self-leveling works - reservoirs replaced, rear hatch struts replaced - holds it up well. New tie-rods, struts and front bearings New interior door panels all the way around - looks nice. Hinge straps replaced - keep door from swinging when open Good brakes - no parking brake, though. Has veg-oil kit with extra filters - start on diesel run for free after it warms up. Tank level gauge, temperature gauge, electric fuel pump and two three-way valves Goldnefuels veg. filter - heated in third seat foot area with approx. 12 gallon stainless steel tank Pretty good tires/rims This has hydraulically adjusting valves - very cool 603 straight six turbo diesel smokes a little but not excessively straight pipe exhaust - kinda throaty great acceleration good milage 25-30mpg Trans shifts great - leaks a little over time - just replaced driveshaft carrier bearing and shift-rod bushings. vacuum all works - locking doors activate and engine shuts off immediately when turned off After-market air intake/filter - stock available for free Good windshield - front/rear wiper works - electric passenger side mirror works |

2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class lineup shows its freshened face
Mon, 14 Jan 2013Mercedes-Benz showed us its redesigned 2014 E-Class more than a month ago, but the Detroit Auto Show finally gave us a chance to see the full family of mid-size luxury cars and wagons in the flesh. Dieter Zetsche introduced the cars, including sedan, coupe, convertible and station wagon, on stage showing the stylish new design direction.
The wagon and sedan versions (shown as the E400 Hybrid above) will go on sale this spring, while the coupe and cabriolet will hit showrooms over the summer. Check our new gallery of live shots for the entire 2014 E-Class lineup, as well as the previously released press release below.
Volvo S60 Polestar concept plays in the snow with Mercedes C63 AMG
Thu, 24 Jan 2013Chris Harris took to a snowy stretch of tarmac to get a fingertips-on-the-wheel feel of the Volvo S60 Polestar concept. Harris says the turbocharged sedan with 508 horsepower and 424 pound-feet of torque - and a manual transmission - is "a study to see if Volvo can get back into the fast-car market." The Polestar S60 concept, one of which was already purchased for $300,000 by a private buyer, is still making the publicity rounds because even Volvo's Chinese owners realize that, as Harris says, "Volvo sold more cars because it made fast cars" like the old 850 T5 Wagon that stormed the British Touring Car Championship in the 1990s.
For reference, Harris compares the blue wonder to the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and its 487 hp and 442 lb-ft. The question is, were Volvo to get the price of a production version of the S60 Polestar to climb way down from its 200,000-pound sticker, could it be worthy competition to the established giants?
You can watch Harris divine the answer via a lot of drifting through the snow and a drag race in the video below.
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton buys LaFerrari
Tue, Mar 24 2015Lewis Hamilton has driven some of the fastest cars ever devised, like the McLaren MP4-23 with which he won the 2008 Formula One World Championship, the Mercedes W05 with which he won the title last year, and the new W06 he drove to the checkered flag in the season opener earlier this month. But what does he drive in his spare time? According to the latest reports quoting his boss Toto Wolff, the reigning champ celebrated his win at the Australian Grand Prix by ordering a new LaFerrari. The seven-figure, 950-horsepower hybrid hypercar may be made by a rival manufacturer to the team for which he drives, but then his employers at Mercedes don't (for the time being at least) build anything that competes in the segment – unlike his former employers at McLaren that offer the similarly potent P1. Something tells us he won't be invited to drive it at Fiorano, though - which is something his rivals Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel have all had the chance to do. Hamilton has a long-established penchant for driving twelve-cylinder exotic supercars in his spare time. At his previous place of work, he was promised an exceedingly rare McLaren F1 LM – valued at some $4 million – but only if he won three world titles for the Woking-based team. He also owns a Pagani Zonda that was made specifically for him with a 760-horsepower engine (supplied, naturally, by Mercedes) and a six-speed manual – complete with a clutch pedal, which (apart from starting off the line) is something he doesn't usually get to operate during working hours.
