1990 Mercedes Benz 300se Flagship 4dr Sedan on 2040-cars
Centerville, Indiana, United States
continued from above......the car was always garaged and to add to that, the previous owner always covered the entire dash and seats with white cotton towels to prevent any type of damage or dryout caused by sunlight! We drove through Northern Cali, to the Redwoods and the Pacific Ocean Hwy because we knew we might not have such an opportunity again, then a total of 2900 effortless miles back home, without a flaw of any sort..The car was purchased new in Denver by an elderly gentleman that loved Benz's. He traded in 88 300SE in for this car, and gave $26300 difference(sticker 54322.) He then let his daughter drive it back and forth to college. At graduation, she sold the car to the gentleman that I purchased it from and it came with a ton of service records that showed all the servicing was performed by the Benz dealer. My daughter took it to Jacksonville Fl with her when she was transferred there with the US NAVY, and drove it back and forth from Florida three or four times, with no issues! Bottom line is this is one hell of a car, even still today! The ONLY reason Im selling this car, is the fact I had to take another job that doesn't pay very well, and I have 7 vehicles that the tag/insurance renewals are due in Feb and I cant drive them all, or afford to keep them all! This is BY FAR the best of the litter. I would go anywhere, anytime in this Flagship of its time. The only thing Ive done to this car, is perform regular maintenance , put a new set of tires on it, about 15000 miles ago, and a battery. It does have a small trans fluid drip that appears after its been sitting, minor issue for a car of this age and mileage. Usual rules apply, bid to buy not to jerk around. $250 deposit is required within 48 hours, via paypal, and only $250 please due to their charges! Balance due at pickup in Indiana, in cash only!. You will need to do nothing to drive this car home, wherever home is. If you need it shipped, its up to to make your own arrangements with the carrier of your choice, and must show the transport fees paid in full, prior to letting the car leave my property. Also, I will mandate from the carrier, a checklist of the cars condition at departure and the buyer can compare to it on delivery so that any damage etc, is the responsibility of the shipper. You are welcome, at your expense of course, to have an independent survey of the vehicle buy a local mechanic at MY location, in fact we have 3 very qualified German car mechanics here locally. All questions and inspections need to be completed prior to 24 hours of auction end. Pickup arrangements must be made within 72 hours after auction end. Questions? Call Ray @ 765-580-0789 as Im sure I probably forgot something or a detail of somekind! Thanks in advance, and Good Luck!!

Race recap: 2016 Monaco Grand Prix gets very wet, a little wild
Mon, May 30 2016More than at any other race, the Monaco Grand Prix question is: which combination of demolition derby, Safety Cars, and bad pit strategy will decide the podium? Last year Lewis Hamilton's late, confounding pit stop cost him victory. The year before, Nico Rosberg's qualifying "mistake" put him on pole and Mercedes-AMG Petronas' pit strategy sealed his win – good for Nico, bad for Hamilton and the rest of the field. In 2013 Hamilton dropped from second to fourth when he lollygagged in the pits. In all three years, Rosberg won. The new X factor for 2016: a Red Bull resurgence that helped Daniel Ricciardo clinch his first career pole. Nevertheless, bad pit strategy had its say in the results. Ricciardo built up a 13-second lead by Lap 15 in spite of heavy rains that forced the Safety Car to lead the first eight laps of the race. Ricciardo stopped on Lap 23 to switch to intermediate tires for the drying track, ceding the lead to Hamilton. Hamilton pitted from the lead on Lap 31 for softs, then Red Bull pulled Ricciardo in again on Lap 32 and made a snap decision to put him on ultra softs, but the tires weren't ready when Ricciardo reached his pit box. What should have been a three-second pit stop turned into a 13.6-second pit stop. Ricciardo left the pits as Hamilton came down the straight and the Aussie lost the lead into the first corner. Despite two attempts to pass later in the race, Hamilton finished first, the Aussie second. It's the second race in a row where pit strategy cost Ricciardo a near-certain win. Conversely, Force India nailed both tire strategy and pit timing with Sergio Perez. The Mexican started in eighth but got into third before half the race was done, passing four cars in the pits, and finished on the podium's final step. Otherwise the order barely changed from about half distance, with Ferrari driver Sebatian Vettel in fourth, followed by Fernando Alonso in the McLaren, Nico Hulkenberg in the second Force India, Rosberg in the second Mercedes, Carlos Sainz for Toro Rosso, Jenson Button in the second McLaren, and Felipe Massa taking the final point for tenth for Williams. Storms didn't only hover over the area, though – dark clouds hung around several teams and drivers. Mercedes' reliability is no longer so reliable. The Silver Arrows suffered engine issues on both cars in qualifying, and Hamilton's problem almost kept him from setting a time in Q3.

Erebus Motorsport Mercedes E-Class V8 Supercar completes the field [w/videos]
Sat, 23 Feb 2013Ford, Holden and Nissan introduced their V8 Supercar challengers a while back. Erebus Motorport, whose racing program got the green light not even 120 days ago, has finally shown off the Mercedes-Benz E-Class racer that will complete this year's field of entries. The first AMG race car ever to be built outside of Germany, it's an Australian-built tube-frame chassis specced to the series' Car of Tomorrow rules, fitted with body panels that channel the E63 AMG.
Supported by AMG Customer Motorsport, the 5.0-liter engine is provided by HWA in Germany, the racing arm of AMG. Regulations dictate that it have roughly 650 horsepower, a redline between 7,000 and 7,500 rpm and a torque curve that matches the parity baseline set for all cars.
Lee Holdsworth, Tim Slade and Maro Engel will drive the three team cars, each with different sponsors. Their first showing will be at the Clipsal 500 on March 3 in Adelaide, here in the US we'll get to see them in May at the Circuit of the Americas. Check out the videos below of the Erebus car starting up at its launch, and footage of all of this year's cars doing pre-season testing on track together.
