This car has been owned and by the original purchaser since it was bought new in Germany in 1985 until my husband's company (Farm & Ranch Co., State license #P15973) acquired it this winter. It has been driven all over Europe, after which it was shipped to the states. The mileage shows 233k, but it probably close to 250k as the odometer stopped recently. According to the original owner the engine was replaced less than 50k miles ago. It does not blow smoke. It has no rust. It runs and drives great. It is all original, including the mag wheels. The moon roof opens (manually) and does not leak. The power windows on the passenger side work, but the power windows do not work on the driver's side. The air conditioning and heater work. The stereo works really nice. The cruise control is not coming on for some reason. The power mirrors work well. The driver's seat has a tear. There are several interior issues that I hope are revealed in the pictures. The tires are good. The brakes are fantastic. It is safety inspected for the state of Texas. All the glass and mirrors and chrome are in good shape. If you are the high bidder and live out of state you may take the title with you. If you live in Texas you will need to go with my husband to the title office and put it into your name. As always, if you are thew winning bidder and feel that it was misprepresented in any way, we will cheerfully refund your deposit and cancel the sale without question. Thanks!
On Feb-27-13 at 13:15:40 PST, seller added the following information:
As you can see from the listring we just made, the car is now owned by my husband's company, Farm & Ranch Company, not the original owner of 28 years (as of last week). So please do not bid if that is not understood. The title is now in the name of Farm & Ranch Co., and the state license is a Texas General Distinguishing Number (licensed dealer).

Popular Science magazine's Best Of What's New 2012 all ate up with cars
Tue, 20 Nov 2012Popular Science has named the winners in its Best of What's New awards, the victors coming in the categories of aerospace, automotive, engineering, entertainment, gadgets, green, hardware, health, home, recreation, security and software. The automotive category did not go wanting for lauded advancements:
Tesla Model S: the Grand Award winner for being "the standard by which all future electric vehicles will be measured."
BMW 328i: it's 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gets called out for being more powerful and frugal than the six-cylinder it replaces.
Automakers want to stop the EPA's fuel economy rules change, and why that's a shortsighted move
Tue, Dec 6 2016With a Trump Administration looming, the EPA moved quickly after the election to propose finalizing future fuel economy rules last week. The auto industry doesn't like that (surprise), and has started making moves to stop the EPA. Ford CEO Mark Fields said he wanted to lobby Trump to lower the standards, and now the Auto Alliance, a manufacturer group, is saying it will join the fight against cleaner cars. The Alliance represents 12 automakers: BMW, Fiat Chrysler, Ford, GM, Jaguar Land Rover, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Porsche, Toyota, VW, and Volvo. Gloria Bergquist, a spokesperson for the Alliance, told Automotive News that the "EPA's sudden and controversial move to propose auto regulations eight months early - even after Congress warned agencies about taking such steps while political appointees were packing their bags - calls out for congressional action to pause this rulemaking until a thoughtful policy review can occur." The EPA was going to consider public comments through April 2017, but then said it would move the deadline to the end of December. That means that it can finalize the rules before President Obama leaves office. The director of public affairs for the Consumer Federation of America, Jack Gillis, said on a conference call with reporters last week when the EPA originally announced its decision that it is unlikely that President Trump will be able to roll back these changes. Gillis also said on the same call that any attempt by the automakers to prevent these changes would be history repeating itself. "These are the same companies that fought airbags, and now promoting the fact that every car has multiple airbags," he said. "These are the same companies that fought the crash-test program, and now are promoting the crash-test ratings published by the government. So, it's clear that they're misperceiving the needs of the American consumer." There are more reasons the Allliance's pushback is flawed. Carol Lee Rawn, the transportation program director for Ceres, said on that call that the automotive industry is a global one, and many automakers are moving to global platforms to help them meet strict fuel economy rules around the world.
