Great 1984 Mercedes 300d-t sedan for sale!!!
Champagne/Palominio color combo. (473 paint code)
Repainted and all body work done in last 9 months. Not a stractch, dent or nick on it. Been under carport under a cover or in storage when not used!
I have decided to sell some cars because we simply are running out of room (have 8 currently). The only reason i decided to sell this car is that id like a bit more variety in my collection since i have many 4-door sedans. I bought this car last summer from a very nice couple who kept it in storage but didnt drive it much. It needed some TLC so i spent a few months bringing this car up to where it deserved to be. Ive had 4 of these and i love fixing them up and driving them. Before i bought the car i have a reciept for work done to the front end, motor and transmission mounts, drive belts and hoses, ball joints and shift linkage bushings. I have since had done or performed myself the following:
New front and rear shocks and alignment
New battery and alternator (denso)
Repair dent on trunk, passenger rear door, drivers quarter panel, passenger bottom right fender (under bumper), repaint original color paint code 473. Car was hand buffed a month later and will be prior to sale again. New dual color pinstripe (brown/beige)
Vacuum check valve for engine shut off , new molded dashboard cover, replaced vacuum hoses inside dashboard. Replaced dashboard woodgrain pieces as needed.
New window swtiches for console.
New kenwood CD player. All new bulbs for dashboard. Replaced door lock striker for passenger door.
New fog light bulbs and lenses. Newer headlight surrounds (have a couple small stone ships on each).
Replaced the passenger side rear tailight (was cracked).
New dealer Mercedes floormats.
Oil and filter changed with Shell Rotella 15w-40. The power steering fluid was changed and with a new filter.
Air cleaner bushings were replaced.
This car starts, runs, drives and stops like it is supposed too. No surprizes! The glow plugs were changed by the previous owner only a couple of thousand miles ago. The engine has great compression and the turbocharger works well with no whining sounds. Transmission performs normal. These are the best engines ever fitted into a passenger car, but im assuming you already know this if youre reading this ad! The tires all match, hold air great and have 65% tread left. When the engine is turns off it shuts off immediately. It will leak on occasion a couple small drips after it is turned off. Sometimes not at all. All lights work, all gauges work (even the small clock under the tach), all windows work, the central locking system works, interior lights, sunroof, climate control works correctly and blows out of the center two vents. I drove the car to houston and back last spring and the cruise control worked. I have not used it since then but i will check again when im on the freeway. The power antenna does not work strangely but im fairly certain its only the motor. Its hooked up the back of the new stereo and doesn't blow fuses. The motor is easily changed from inside the trunk. I listen to CD's mostly but the radio will still recieve reception with the mast down. Your choice to replace. The A/C compressor never had a belt on it when i bought it, so i have no idea if the A/C will blow cold. Does not blow cold currently. The seats are in very good shape with no rips or cuts. MB-tex can last forever if not abused! The headliner also very good with a small tear (1 inch) coming out of the rear courtisey light. The door panels great with only some discoloration on the rear passenger armrest (maybe a window left cracked open and rain stained it. The piping around some of the door fabric has also come loose. The interior an 8/10. The exterior id also say an 8/10. Paint shines great, bumpers good (aera where two small bumper stickers have been taken off shows a difference), all trim and emblems there and in great shape! The rims are in good shape i feel they should be re-dipped however since they show wear. Doing this would really make this a headturner. Doors all slam with that old mercedes thunk that you'd expect. I own a 2000 E320 and the doors sound nothing like the way these close. The last of the best from mercedes-benz. My favorite cars as well. Ask one that has owned one! I have discribed this car as best as i know how and all its shortcomings because i buy cars here too and hate to be rudely surprized. However, i encourage you to ask questions no matter how big or small. I will be checking my e-mails daily and will offer a prompt response. This is a nice car and have put a reserve on it, but is very reasonable. Good luck!
I dont know why the autocheck puts on here an odometer discreptancy. All the date and mileage intervals line up in sequence. Just like carfax reports i feel they are worthless in many cases! I have the original owners manual with all of the first oil changes listed and have the dealer plate that shows build date and purchase date. All of my records that i have will go with the new owner. Thanks!

2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S 4Matic [w/video]
Wed, 20 Feb 2013Maybe you saw our recent blog snippet on a bunch of US journos getting pulled over in the middle of nowhere in Catalunya, Spain for driving a bunch of new 2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG models. By all accounts, they weren't speeding - which makes me softly guffaw. I was there in that group, yet I had taken the more direct route into the mountains from Barcelona so that I could... well, so that I could go faster. No one hassled me and I had the Autovia all to myself. And it was the goodniks - the team players - who got nabbed because Spain had decided to suddenly enforce the never enforced "must carry an international driver's license" clause of the highway code.
The departing E63 AMG with 518 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque from its M157 5.5-liter biturbo V8 hasn't exactly been poorly received. It isn't as crisp as, nor as pleasantly evil as its C63 AMG kid brother, but we generally accept that the heavier and larger car will always feel, well, heavier and larger.
As part of the 2014 E-Class mid-cycle redesign, Affalterbach decided to give its E63 AMG more power and torque for the occasion. The base car now gives off 550 hp and 531 lb-ft, while the hotter S version I tested (formerly the AMG Performance Pack) produces 577 hp and 590 lb-ft. The other big novelty is that E63 sedans will be available with both rear- and all-wheel drive, while all US-spec E63 wagons will be 4Matic equipped.
Race recap: 2016 Australian F1 Grand Prix a rowdy start to season
Mon, Mar 21 2016The three brief Formula 1 tests ahead of the current season belied how much had gone on since the last race in November: Infiniti subbed out for Tag Heuer, Renault is back, the all new Haas F1 team, a revamped Manor, three brand new drivers and two returning drivers, a raft of regulation changes among the newly tilled soil. The four engine manufacturers spent a combined 67 tokens among the 138 in the kitty, Renault using just seven of their 32. The only conclusive proof to come from the annual intermission was the otherworldly capability of Mercedes-AMG Petronas. The Silver Arrows didn't even try the super- and ultra-soft tires, focusing on reliability instead of speed. The result? They ran more than 19 race distances, obliterating the lap totals of every other team. There are certainly a few people who enjoyed the complicated new rolling-elimination qualifying format fast-tracked to approval just a few weeks ago. They were wildly outnumbered by those who thought it was awful, including the same team heads who voted for it. We'd probably have to go back to the debacle at the 2005 Indianapolis Grand Prix for an equivalent fiasco when Michelin pulled its teams over safety fears, leaving six cars out of 20 to qualify. In Australia, within 24 hours of the conclusion of qualifying, the new format had itself been eliminated. Nevertheless, qualifying also taught us what didn't happen over the winter: any other team progressing enough to outduel Mercedes. After admitting that he dropped off after winning the championship last year, then getting questioned in the press for some dubious off-season activities, Lewis Hamilton proved he can still turn it on when he wants to. The Brit smoked the Albert Park track in 1:23.837, more than three-tenths of a second ahead of teammate Nico Rosberg in second place. Ferrari did make strides during the off-season, but only enough to keep the same gap it had to Mercedes last year: Sebastian Vettel lined up third, a half-second behind Rosberg, teammate Kimi Raikkonen another four-tenths back in fourth place. Max Verstappen said Toro Rosso is the best of the rest, the Dutchman taking fifth place in front of Felipe Massa for Williams in sixth and Toro Rosso teammate Carlos Sainz in sixth. Daniel Ricciardo – who wasn't smiling after qualifying – kept Red Bull and its new "Tag Heuer" engines in the conversation with eighth on the grid.
The BMW M8 leads this month's list of discounts
Mon, Sep 21 2020Back in June of this year, the BMW 8 Series was the most heavily discounted vehicle in America. This month, it's the 617-horsepower M8. Midsummer buyers of the 2020 BMW M8, which is offered in hardtop, convertible and four-door Gran Coupe bodystyles, were seeing an average of $6,150 cut off the sticker; this month that figure has ballooned all the way to $16,864. That's more than 11% off the car's $150,000-plus retail price, and, according to data provided by TrueCar, it's the largest dollar amount sliced off the retail price of any car for the month of September. Next is the Maserati Quattroporte, buyers of which are saving $15,912 for an average transaction price of $99,763. If that's still too expensive, the smaller Ghibli's $70,030 average transaction price represents a huge 14.5% discount, earning the Italian sedan entry into our monthly top 10 best deals list. The third largest monetary discount in September comes off the $131,066 sticker price of the lovely 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT. Take $15,473 off that sum for an average transaction price of $115,593.
