We are selling our 'Sadie'! this 1980 Mercedes Benz 300TD is in great shape. I have owned the car for almost 4 years and have stayed on top of maintenance very well. Both previous owners were older men who took maintenance seriously and i have a 'thick' folder of receipts to prove it.
187,xxx original miles. w123 , 5 cylinder diesel, good fuel mileage. Leather seats, tan interior, tinted windows, roof racks... All the Goods! Meticulous records have been kept on this car and it has NEVER been on salted roads. Originally from Colorado this car has been very well looked after. The car had it's motor replaced about 6 years ago with an identical engine which has less than 100,000 miles on it. The work was done by a very professional and competent mercedes shop in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (i have the receipt) Items replaced within the last 3 months: Both rear axles, air filter, fuel filters, TIRES, battery, alignment, oil changes, brakes, and rear rotors The interior is very clean and in awesome shape. the dash has been kept covered and has no cracks or discoloration. All the gauges and controls are intact. The headliner is perfect. The leather seats are immaculate except for a small tear on the drivers side. There is a custom center console/armrest /storage compartment that works wonderfully. The rear windows need switches, but the motors are in good shape and work fine. The rear cargo area is huge and comes with jack, full size spare, oem first aid kit, and mercedes tool kit. The back seat folds down flat and 2 adults can sleep comfortably. The carpet under the front floor mats is deteriorating (has rubber floor mats) but all the rest of the carpet is clean and intact. The exterior is in good shape. paint is fading from age and sun. There are a few paint chips here and there (under 1/8") and there are two pretty much unnoticeable (i'm not exaggerating) dents, one on the front fender and one on the rear hatch. There is a trailer hitch that i installed that has been used only three times to haul a small garden trailer. all lights are intact/clean/work. the lenses for the underbumper backup lights are cracked but still work. windshield wipers and washers work well. Great roof/ cargo rack! Dark tinted windows. The car Shifts smooth and rides at its proper level, the self leveling system actually works! These cars have been known to regularly pass 400,000 miles and with a bombproof engine, cast iron head and extremely durable injection pump this car makes a prime candidate for many many more miles to come. This car has never been run on vegetable oil or other alternative fuels although it would be a great candidate for some of the conversion options out there. No other issues, this car does NOT need work and is a great car! No warranty is stated or implied. This is a 33 year old car and will require special attention and care. Please do not bid on this car without becoming familiar with these cars. Feel free to contact me with any questions. |

Mercedes fits new C-Class with AMG kit
Sat, 28 Dec 2013It's only been a week and a half since Mercedes-Benz revealed the new C-Class, and it'll likely be a while yet before the replacement for the C63 AMG comes along. But if you want to see a preview of what it'll look like, look no further than the AMG aero kit that has just surfaced.
Expected to debut on the new C-Class at the fast-approaching Detroit Auto Show, the AMG Line Exterior Pack adds a new bumpers front and rear, side skirts, dual exhaust tips, mesh grille, aluminum window frames and - most importantly - 18-inch alloys packing upgraded brakes and fitted to a lowered sport suspension. All of which will help any C-Class look the part, even if the engine remains stock.
2015 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe
Wed, Dec 17 2014Conventional wisdom would dictate that adding more power and several key performance enhancements to an already very good car, like the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S550 Coupe, will end up equaling an even better car. In the case of the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe, conventional wisdom sort of applies, but perhaps not as much as we'd have initially guessed. We'll get into the nitty gritty details in just a moment, but here's the most immediate takeaway we had in our minds as we walked away from this super coupe: The S63 AMG is excellent, but so is the slightly more mundane S550 Coupe on which it is based, and which is priced some $41,000 less expensive than its more powerful sibling. Chew on those figures while we examine what differentiates the two S-Class Coupes. Drive Notes As expected, the single greatest highlight of the 2015 S63 Coupe is its engine. As a powerplant, it's a gem. As a hand-built engineering exercise, its 577 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque are just as impressive in real life as they sound when recited from stat sheets. Not that the old CL63 AMG was lacking in power, but the new S63 AMG Coupe boasts 41 more horses and 74 more lb-ft than the outgoing engine. The run to 60 miles per hour takes a scant 3.9 seconds, according to M-B, aided in no small part by the car's 4Matic all-wheel-drive system and other assorted electronic brains deciding where, exactly, all those ponies should be sent. The rear-biased system is tuned to send two-thirds of the engine's power to the rear wheels in a bid to make the car feel more like what performance-minded drivers expect. Top speed is electronically limited to 186 miles per hour, which is plenty fast enough, even in the days of 200-plus-mph sedans from M-B's former corporate cousin Dodge. We didn't get anywhere near the car's maximum velocity, but our brief trips into triple-digit territory were quiet, comfortable and completely free of drama. The seven-speed automatic gearbox responds quickly to requests of your right foot, but the steering wheel-mounted paddles don't change gears as quickly as we'd like when in Manual mode. Controlled Efficiency (which we'd call Comfort) maximizes efficiency, keeping the transmission in higher gears and shifting earlier than when in Sport mode, and we didn't find much fault with the computer's shifting algorithms in either setting.
Mercedes AMG and Cigarette Racing debut 2,220-HP electric motor boat
Thu, 14 Feb 2013Take the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-Cell, stretch it and take off the wheels then make it float and you've basically got the just-unveiled Cigarette AMG Electric Drive Concept. Powered by an all-electric powertrain that offers 2,200 horsepower and 2,213 pound-feet of torque (and uses "numerous components" taken from the not-quite-as-yellow SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive), the sleek concept is being called the "world's most powerful electric drive powerboat." What that means is a top speed of over 100 miles per hour from four 60-kWh lithium-ion batteries and two banks of six liquid-cooled, permanent-magnet synchronous electric motors. And the 240 kWh of total energy should provide plenty of juice out on the water.
Launched (but not literally) at the Miami International Boat Show today, the Cigarette AMG Electric Drive Concept is the result of a partnership between Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing. The boat is 38 feet long (much longer than the 15-foot SLS) and is plastered with AMG branding on the sides and top of the bow above the matte chrome yellow paint (officially called AMG Electricbeam mango). Two 220-kW chargers can refill the batteries, dockside, in about seven hours.
The idea of a powerful electric boat is nothing new (Henrik Fisker talked about a plug-in hybrid watercraft late last year), but this is the first time we've seen Mercedes put its EV technology on the water. Anyone who's afraid of driving an EV in the rain should take note. Check out the complete press release below.
