For sale a 1984 Mercedes Benz 190E 2.3 8valve engine automatic transmission.

Clean California title, car runs and drives, SMOG done, registered up to date, 2014 sticker.

Odometer stopped working at 190000 so i would say car has around 200000k miles.
Runs great, recent maintenance done: fresh fluids, new filters, new sparkplugs, valve cover gasket, brake pads all around.Recently fixed exhaust.
It has drilled brake rotors all around, stainless steel brake lines, Eibach lowering springs, Bilstein sport shocks (yellow), new rear lower control arms and other suspension bits recently replaced.

Body: this is where the car needs some attention. It has no rust, all underneath is in great shape. Surface rust developed in parts where paint is missing but the metal sheet is in great shape!
Front and rear bumpers were replaced because original one were scratched and banged at the corners.
It has the original AMG body kit all around. I sourced an original AMG front lip to replace the old damaged/cracked one. This was hard to find!
Rear AMG apron is in great shape.Side skirts, the same, great shape, all four jack plugs are in place.
Rear trunk AMG duck-tail has a crack in it on the right side.
All AMG components are original AMG ones with AMG part numbers on them. All are in good shape, they have some bottom scratches, no missing chunks or bad stuff on these.
Rear doors have some dings... looks like the car scraped along something. The scrape dented alongside the door and continues a little also on the quarter panel. Also body needs attention above the rear wheel arch where there a little dent and paint is chipped.
Doors close and open fine! Rear left door does not open from outside, but opens from inside just fine.
It has original Hella dark rear tail lights.

It has original AMG penta wheels 7 1/2Jx16 with +42 offset all around. Tires are in good shape 205/45/16 all around but mismatched brands.

Interior: is in great shape, it has an updated dash with no cracks, all the wood trim is there, wood shifter trim with window controls is from a newer model and does not clip in place very tight.
Seats in great condition, no rips or any issues, seats have manual controls and driver seat has also a swinging armrest.
All original floor mats are there. Headliner was redone recently.
Rear left window does not work, all the rest work fine.

A/C blows cold, but could use a recharge to be freezing cold. All controls work fine except: sunroof and antenna.
It has an aftermarket Sony CD player, all speakers work fine.

It has alarm and central lock. I have two remotes and two keys for the car.
Big stack or maintenance receipts, original manuals, two large binders with printed factory repair manuals.

Car is located in North Hollywood, CA 91605 and can be seen anytime if you want to check it out.
Let me know if you have any questions.

I can assist with shipping at buyers cost. I work with Haulmatch.

Ecclestone wonders if F1's upcoming turbo V6s should get augmented sound [w/videos]

Mon, 08 Apr 2013

While every team on the Formula One grid is worried about making a good showing in this year's championship at the same time as they develop a brand-new car for next year's championship, Bernie Ecclestone and F1 circuit promoters have a different concern: how next year's cars will sound. The current cars use 2.4-liter, naturally-aspirated V8s that can reach 18,000 revolutions per minute and employ dual exhaust, next year's engine formula calls for 1.4-liter turbocharged V6s that are capped at 15,000 rpm and are constrained to a single exhaust outlet. Ecclestone and promoters like Ron Walker believe the new engines sound like lawnmowers and that the less thrilling audio will keep people from coming to races. If Walker's Australian Grand Prix really is shelling out almost $57 million to hold the race, every ticket counts. As a fix, according to a report in Autoweek, Ecclestone "suggests that the only way to guarantee [a good sound] may be to artificially adjust the tone of the V6s."
However, neither the manufacturers nor the governing body of F1, the FIA, think there will be a problem. Ecclestone fears that if the manufacturers "don't get it right" they'll simply leave the sport, but the only three carmakers and engine builders left next year, Renault (its 2014 "power unit" is pictured), Mercedes-Benz and Ferrari are so embedded that it would stretch belief to think they'd leave the table over an audio hiccup - if said hiccup even occurs. And frankly, these issues always precede changes to engine formulas, as they did when the formula switched from V10 to V8; fans, though, are probably less focused on the engines and more on the mandated standardization of the sport and the spec-series overtones that have come with it.
No one knows yet what next year's engines will sound like, but we've assembled a few videos below to help us all start guessing. The first is an engine check on an Eighties-era John Player Special Renault with a 1.5-liter V6 turbo, after that is Ayrton Senna qualifying in 1986 in the Lotus 98T that also had a 1.5-liter V6 turbo, then you'll find a short with a manufactured range of potential V6 engine notes, and then the sound of turbocharged V6 Indycars testing last year at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Any, or none of them, could be Formula One's future.

2016 German Grand Prix race recap: so-so racing, great questions

Mon, Aug 1 2016

We can summarize the 2016 German Grand Prix in one sentence: Mercedes-AMG Petronas driver Lewis Hamilton started second on the grid, passed pole-sitter and teammate Nico Rosberg before the first corner, and dominate to the finish. In fact, Hamilton turned his engine power output down on Lap 3 and still took the checkered flag seven seconds ahead of Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo. Ricciardo's teammate Max Verstappen crossed the line another six seconds back. Rosberg fell to fourth at the first corner and couldn't find the pace to reel in the Red Bulls. His questionable pass on Verstappen didn't help when the stewards penalized Rosberg five seconds; the overtake reminded us of Rosberg's move on teammate Hamilton in Austria. That penalty turned into eight seconds when the Mercedes-AMG Petronas stopwatch didn't work in the pits. Ferrari pilots Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen finished fifth and sixth. Those six drivers all started in the top six, too. Behind them, on Lap 28 of the 67-lap race the next four drivers were Valtteri Bottas in the Williams, Nico Hulkenberg in the Force India, and Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso in McLarens. Low fuel and old tires put the kibosh on Alonso's pace just four laps from the finish, allowing Force India's Sergio Perez to pass, rounding out the top ten. The issues up for debate during the four-week break are far more interesting than the weekend's race. As bad as Ferrari's day might have been – and we'll get to that – Rosberg probably took the biggest hit, losing the race before the first corner for the second weekend in a row and falling 19 points behind Hamilton. Rosberg won the first four races of the season, then the teammates tripped over one another in Spain. Hamilton's won six of the seven races since Spain, Rosberg's best result in that time is a second-place in Hungary. Hamilton turned his engine down on Lap 3 (!) because he's used his entire season's allotment of five turbochargers and five MGU-Ks. Those early-season gremlins now have him on edge of grid penalties. Unless Hamilton's momentum cools off in August, however, that reliability danger might be the only dent in his armor. Rosberg, who once led the Championship by 43 points, will surely drown in his thoughts – and maybe schnapps – over the summer break. Whatever the Italian word for "meditation" is, there'll be a lot of it at Ferrari during the F1 summer break.
