2010 Mazda Rx-8 Grand Touring Coupe 4-door 1.3l on 2040-cars

Series II 2010 Grand Touring Mazda RX8. RX8s got some major updates starting with the MY2009 including enhanced cooling and lubrication to the engine rotors and a more substantial transmission over the 04-08 models.
This is the GT model with every available option offered (except navigation), including moonroof (power), heated side mirrors, power adjustable seats, one touch power drivers seat button for rear entry, rain sensing wipers, home link, Bose audio, keyless remote entry (just have the key fob in your pocket and press the door button). Engine, ignition system, transmission, and suspension are all in perfect shape. Car runs smooth, idles right at 900rpm, throttle response is perfect and transmission is silky smooth with that super grabby clutch RX8s are known for. Never been in the shop. This is my 2nd rotary, I am an enthusiast of rotaries and have meticulously maintained this car. Plugs were changed by dealer at 25k miles including new K&N air filter. Oil changes were completed way before recommended between 3-4k miles and I kept all my oil change records. I am the second owner of this car, I purchased it in 2011 with 6,000 miles on it from a local dealer. It is a Mazda Certified Used Car / was when purchased in 2011. Documentation included. I also own a newer Miata that I drive on the weekends, this RX8 has been my daily driver to and fro work.. I work about 15 miles off of I-85 and she has seen mostly all highway miles, with a redline getting on the exit ramp each day. I am a rotary enthusiast and this is my second rotary car (2004 RX8 I sold for the miata, then later could afford both and a lot of the quirks were fixed with the 2009+ model years so I bought this one). The only defects on the car are a small ding from a pebble on the interstate hitting the passenger side rear fender, and the rims have some scratches on them. Two rims have small dings also. (See Photos) The car comes with two key fobs, although one has lost sync with the car (functions/power light comes on but does not communicate with car), the other FOB works great. The dealer can resync the FOB to the car (for a charge). I have never needed the 2nd one. All original books and manuals are included in the glove box. There is a professionally installed 10" bass tube (purchased by me) in the trunk that can go with the car to the buyer, or I can have the sound shop remove it if you desire. It sounds really great, but does take up trunk space. There is no modification to the stock sound system, just the woofer sharing the factory BOSE amp. The price is a starting point, willing to negotiate, but not in desperate need to sell the car. I'm looking to sell both the RX8 and miata to eventually buy a larger 4 door sports sedan and get back to just one car. Please respond with any questions. Car is located in Greenville, SC. |

Updated Mazda6 Wagon to look lovely in Geneva
Tue, Feb 6 2018For the 2018 model year, Mazda updated the Mazda6 sedan with some design and mechanical tweaks. It will take the stand for its European debut at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. There, it will be staged alongside the Mazda6 Wagon, which will be getting its own global debut at the Swiss expo. Unless there's some sort of miracle, we won't be getting the five-door version here in the United States, which is a shame, because it's a beautiful wagon. Customers here — apart from a handful of die-hard fans and, perhaps, the entirety of the American automotive press — prefer something with a bit more elevation to it. Ask a Mazda dealer in Michigan or Arizona for a Mazda6 Wagon, and they'll probably try to sell you a CX-5 instead. That frustrates the wagon fans. "It's gorgeous," said Autoblog Associate Editor Joel Stocksdale. "It kills me that we don't get it." The Mazda6 Wagon, like the new sedan, features an updated exterior and interior design, new seating, better performance, and improved driving dynamics. The Mazda6 Wagon will be on the show floor with a number of other beautiful cars, including the Mazda Kai and Vision Coupe concepts, which bowed at the Tokyo show. Mazda will also showcase its new gasoline-powered Skyactiv-X spark controlled compression ignition, which we were recently able to test in a prototype vehicle. 2020 Mazda CX-5 adds torque to the turbo engine, gets more expensive
Tue, Nov 12 2019The 2020 Mazda CX-5 is getting a little more desirable in the new model year. It’s also slightly more expensive. Most of the benefits are realized with the 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. This engine gets a small boost in torque, going from 310 pound-feet to 320 pound-feet. Horsepower stays the same at 250 horses, and the max power is still made using 93 octane fuel. We saw a similar torque gain in the 2020 CX-9. Mazda says it also added a new “Engine Harmonics Enhancer” that “tunes to the engine with a much more refined and powerful sound.” WeÂ’re guessing the turbocharged engine is going to sound just a hair better in 2020. When equipped with the turbocharged engine and all-wheel drive, the CX-5 also gets an off-road traction assist feature. Similar to the CX-9Â’s system, Mazda says “when the diagonal wheels lose traction, off-road traction assist will stop reducing the engine torque and increase the brake force on the wheels without traction.” Mazda says all CX-5s will also take advantage of improved NVH, making the CX-5 feel a bit more premium and isolated from the road. Every CX-5 will also be equipped with MazdaÂ’s suite of i-Activsense safety features as standard in 2020, as well. This means adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist are both standard features now. As Mazda tries its best to move into the premium space, itÂ’s changed all the fonts on the badging and displays on the car. Although, Mazda neglected to include any photos of the new look, so weÂ’ll wait to judge on that front. The premium look and feel comes with a slightly higher price than 2019. A base Sport is $740 more expensive than last year, coming in at $26,135 after the $1,045 destination charge. The most luxurious Signature trim is just a touch more expensive than last year (by $165) at $38,100. What Mazda hasnÂ’t included in its 2020 rundown is the Skyactiv-D diesel option. WeÂ’ve reached out to Mazda to see if we can determine its fate in 2020 and will update this story upon hearing back. Update: Mazda responded to our request for comment. Since the 2019 diesel variant was on a different release schedule than the rest of the 2019 CX-5 lineup, the company isn't talking 2020 diesel yet. The company is treating it as a "future product," therefore it's not commenting on it.  We can only speculate as to what that means for the diesel CX-5, so we'll wait on official information from Mazda whenever it may come.
