2004 Mazda Rx8 Gt W/ Sport Package 6-speed Manual 46,xxx Miles Must See !! on 2040-cars
Wheeling, West Virginia, United States
I am selling my 04 Mazda RX8. As title says it is a GT w/ sport package. 6 speed manual tranny. currently under 47,000 miles. I had some regular maintenence done this summer including a new battery, plugs, wires, coils, tires, fluids, and a fresh alignment. Also replaced the starter with the recommended upgrade 2kw "z" series starter. My car starts, runs, and drives like it did just out of the showroom. It does not have any of the flooding issues or slow starting issues you may have heard about from other RX8 forums. I have taken every measure to ensure this car is in top shape for me, and now the next owner. You are welcome to come see and go for a ride in person with just a phone call so I know who to expect. No surprises here. My name is Dan 304.281.4423 The car has black leather interior. Heated seats. Power everything. Multi-disc premium sound package. Navigation. the works......Very reliable and very fun to drive.
Dan 304-281-4423 On Jan-05-14 at 16:14:41 PST, seller added the following information: The real mileage is 46,888. NOT 146k like the item specifics listed. I cannot change any of the original listing because I already have bids. But I wanted to add to the description to clarify this typo. Sorry for the confusion. 46,888 is the real mileage |

Mazda Miata celebrates 25 years of rocking our worlds
Mon, 10 Feb 2014For its birthday it hasn't been profiled on 60 Minutes or been to Jay Leno's Garage, doesn't go on a retrospective tour of vintage racetracks or get a special Spyder Zagato edition. That doesn't mean we think any less of the Mazda MX-5 Miata, the roadster with a simplicity that was as enjoyable as it was barely believable when it arrived in 1989. A quarter of a century and three generations later, the Miata remains the go-to roadster when you want easy, balanced and economical thrills.
It grew from a 116-horsepower speedster with a five-speed manual transmission and a curb weight of 2,116 pounds, to a 167-hp go-kart with a five-speed manual coming in at 2,480 pounds (in Sport guise). Along the way it's picked up hundreds of awards, including 14 nods on Car and Driver's "10Best" list, its most recent eight-year streak coming to an end last year, the Guinness Book of World Records title as "Best-Selling Two-Seater Sports Car" and innumerable trophies as weekend racer extraordinaire.
We'll see the fourth generation at next year's Chicago Auto Show, and we're certain to hear more about its 25-year milestone this year. Until that happens, enjoy the images above and the gallery and press release below.
2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata has arrived
Wed, 03 Sep 2014Ladies and gentlemen, meet the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata. The highly anticipated fourth-generation (ND) model made its official debut in Monterey, CA this evening, and while details are slim (as in, we have practically none), there's one big thing to talk about: less weight.
Yes, Mazda has confirmed that the new Miata sheds some 220 pounds over the model it replaces, and is "the most compact of any generation MX-5 so far." For those keeping track, that means the new MX-5 should weigh in somewhere around 2,200 pounds.
Mazda's Kodo design language is obvious here, with a seriously wide and low demeanor, and a mix of flowing lines and sharp angles. We don't have any powertrain details to report as of this writing, but Mazda says the full suite of Skyactiv technologies are onboard, and the motto in creating this car was "Innovate in order to preserve."
2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata will rock 2.0L SkyActiv engine in US, 1.5L elsewhere
Wed, 01 Oct 2014Let the speculation finally end - we know what will power the next-generation 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata, and it's not turbocharged. The US model will get a SkyActiv 2.0-liter engine and six-speed manual, while models in the rest of the world have a 1.5-liter engine, confirming earlier rumors.
Unfortunately, Mazda isn't letting loose how much power either of these mills make just yet. For sake of comparison, the current SkyActiv 2.0 in the Mazda3 produces 155 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque, and the 1.5-liter in the UK (and elsewhere) has about 99 hp and 110 lb-ft of twist. However, the current Miata produces 167 hp and 140 lb-ft.
But fret not droptop fans. The company's brochure from the 2014 Paris Motor Show confirms, "all available drivetrains have been specially tuned for the all-new MX-5," which at least hints at the possibility of more performance. Also, even if the numbers remain untouched, the new Miata should feel even more sporting on the open road. That's because Mazda says the new model weighs in the neighborhood of 2,200 pounds; with that in mind, the 2016 car would boast around 14.19 pounds per horsepower versus 14.85 lb/hp in the present MX-5. Progress!
