Car is being sold with 2 engines. The engine described below and all the fabrication was done by Mike Essa, Formula Drift Champion, 2013. The raced out motor needs a partial rebuild, pinched seal, easy fix, I was quoted $450 in a known rotary shop in the Southern California area,  you'll need the new corner seals, and a net seat of water and oil seals, apex seals are brand spanking new, seals are Hurley 2MM large street port, and exhaust is ported brand new, less than 100 miles.  The engine is painted blue, and chromed out at the front, middle and rear housings. Engine is a 1991 13B turbo 2 block. Rebuilt from a JSPEC motor.

The other engine that this deal comes with is a running 13B Turbo, 91 Block, JSPEC Block. Plug and play. Engine is running, used. Low miles, perfect running block, while you get the other finalized, Car is worth over 25K. All the parts in the car are brand new, with the exception of the used turbo block.

I'm second owner, I've owned it since 44K miles, now it has 76K miles, no accidents, all original body, minor scratches, minor dime sized dings. No Bondo, virtually no rust, California Car, I'm second owner, this car has not seen rain in all of my years as the owner, the vehicle's body is is great-overall condition, for being over 40 years old. About the car, Interior is all complete, and in great condition, I don't have the original carpet, or the original seats, everything else is original, exterior, I don't have the front or rear big-bumpers. I have the grill, I had to take it out due to the oversized 3.5 inch thick spearco core intercooler. I have the bezels as well.

All the windows roll down, doors close perfectly good, no body misalignment issues, vehicle is completely underpriced.

Other original parts from this car, - Original 3 keys, AutoMatic Transmission, -original dual exhaust, ac/condenser unit, original stock wheels in the rear, original rear seats, original gas tank, original gas/air separator, original emblems for rear, and side, and on the grill.-original grill, 12a blue Japanese air filter cover, original 12a distributor electric. Shipping will be at buyers expense for all the extra parts that I'm including in this deal.

This is a great father and son project to finish off in one weekend, and turn it on immediately, so make your child proud. All the fabrication is completed, and car runs solid when it's on. Always garaged, never even broke in the engine. So the buyer will have a bad ass motor once the seals are fixed. Haltech is tuned, so it's good to go with either motor, like I said-plug and play with the substitute engine, and or a partial rebuild.

I don't have the time to install the newer engine, so i'm cutting my losses, and selling it, that said I know the car, the price's, etc.

Mazda6 GX Grand-Am racer goes where no diesel sedan has gone before

Sat, 26 Jan 2013

There has never been a four-door diesel sedan in the Grand-Am series, until now: The blunt, bewinged grille of the Mazda6 GX has blown right through that wall. It's said that racing improves the breed, but usually the breed has gone on sale when the racing begins. One of the unusual aspects of the Mazda6 GX, on the other hand, is that while the diesel won't go on sale to the public until later this year, it will already have tasted racing blood by the end of the day. That kind of reversal is more likely found with super coupes like the Lexus LFA and Honda NSX.
Mazda has taken class wins at Daytona's 24-hour race a whopping 23 times since 1975, most recently in 2010 with the RX-8 in the GT class. This year the Hiroshima company decided to show off its SkyActiv technology, then turned things up to eleven by opting for its SkyActiv-D instead of the more conventional SkyActiv-G gas engine to run in the new GX class. It will be joined by competitors like the Lotus Evora and Porsche Cayman in the class, nevertheless, at 2.4 liters, it's the smallest engine on the grid.
Time has not been a friend, either - Mazda said that the first five SkyActiv-D engines off the production line went to Speed Source in Coral Springs, Florida, the company that preps Mazda's race vehicles. Still, race driver Jonathan Baumarito on the #70 car said that although the engine's been on the dyno since February of last year, it's only been in the car for about a month and there have been only a couple of test days.

Sorry, rotary fans, Mazda's RX Vision probably won't happen

Tue, May 24 2016

Mazda is doing a lot of things the right way in this age of beige-ness. It just crammed a turbocharged inline-four into the improved CX-9, a bold move unto itself, and one that should also be heartening for Mazdaspeed fans. Wouldn't that engine make for a swell Mazdaspeed3 or Mazdaspeed6? There's a reasonable ray of hope there, but not necessarily a guarantee. The RX Vision, though, is a pipe dream. Mazda is smart to keep the rotary dream alive. It's smart to keep developing it in back rooms and to keep the idea on the public's mind. Credit where credit's due: Mazda has solved some of the stickiest issues the rotary engine has, through savvy engineering and perseverance. We've seen promising patent filings for the Skyactiv-R engine, which is supposed to be found in the RX Vision concept. Mazda uses every opportunity to remind us that development is continuing and that the company would love to bring a rotary-powered sportscar to production. I believe it. But the RX Vision is just a design study. And there are some harsh realities about rotary engine emissions and fuel economy standards that are difficult for modern piston engines to achieve without expensive componentry. Emissions and fuel economy are both bugbears of the rotary, in case you've forgotten. And that explains Mazda's interest in running rotaries on hydrogen, but down that road lie infrastructure challenges as daunting as making a gasoline-powered rotary burn as clean as one of Mazda's Skyactiv piston engines. All this is meant to put Mazda's recent comments to Top Gear in context. Mazda's design director, Kevin Rice, spoke to TG at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa D'Este, and was waving Mazda's rotary flag quite enthusiastically. "In the back rooms at Mazda, we're still developing it," Rice said, "and when the world's ready to buy another rotary, we'll be ready to provide it." I'd like that to be a comforting statement, but given the realities of fuel economy and emissions regulations and Mazda's position in the market, it seems like a hollow platitude. "When the world's ready" is just another way of saying "when we solve the fundamental issues with this engine layout, and there's an unambiguous market study that shows we can build these cars and make a profit, we'll consider it." That seems like a lot of "ifs". Perhaps Mazda does have a clean-burning, efficient, cheap-to-produce rotary running on an engine dyno in Hiroshima, and it's prepping an RX-9 for the next auto show.

2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata configurator fulfills your droptop dreams

Fri, Aug 14 2015

The first batch of 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miatas are already at dealers, but Mazda is finally launching a configurator for its completely revised sports car. Even if pricing doesn't come as a surprise, you can still have some fun creating one to your own specific tastes. The major equipment changes on the Miata happen between the Sport, Club, and Grand Touring trims, and options are generally kept light. The real standout is the Brembo/BBS package for $3,400 that's exclusive to the Club version. It adds Gunmetal 17-inch BBS wheels, Brembo front brakes with red calipers, side sill extensions, a rear bumper skirt, and keyless entry. On the Sport and Grand Touring, $1,200 buys the Appearance Package with a front air dam, side sill extensions and rear bumper skirt. There's also keyless tech for $130 on them. Mazda also offers a few items to dress up the convertible's looks. There's a choice of a black or body color rear lip spoiler for $350, and Soul Red Metallic paint adds $300. For protection, clear film for the front and rear paint is $125, all-weather floor mats go for $90, and wheel locks cost $55. Finally, a cargo net is $50. We ticked every applicable box on the Club trim above to make its $28,600 base price leap to $33,790, after the $820 destination charge on all models. Happy building. Related Video:
