I'm selling this 1995 Mazda RX7. I had plans on rebuilding the car after I purchased it. The previous owner had crashed the front passenger side. There was no damage to the engine. I had the frame and the some of the body work started by a professional body shop. The car has been garaged since 2005. I've decided to move on to another project and sell what i started with this one. The engine will need to be rebuilt after sitting for almost ten years. The engine was never modified as you could see from the pictures. I did hook up a battery so you could see the odometer at 66,766 on the engine. The car will need new air bags. The car is currently on three spare tires and only one original wheel. I had taken the seats out because I was going to go with aftermarket seats. I do have them. I also have the original mazda hatchback(see the pic) never installed. I also have an aftermarket hood. Its not installed. I just laid it on the car so you could get the picture. I have Burnout fenders on the front installed and I also have the rear(not installed). I have the Veilside body kit VS D1-GT body kit. This was never installed. Its still in the wrapping. I also have after market headlights(I accidentally broke one of the plastic tops). Its the driver side one. The picture shows what it looked like. Again the hard plastic is broken. They were never installed just sitting on the car to get the pic. I also have the turn signal lights for the body kit. See the pics and the were never installed. I also have Tokico shocks(used but never installed). I also have a Polished Manifold see the pic. I also have a brand new Veilside steering wheel. I forgot to take a picture of it. This is a great opportunity to finish this project car. I've included pictures of the Burnout fenders and the Veilside body kit. To show what it could look like once it's completed. I will not Sell any individual parts or part the car out. So don't ask. I want to sell everything I have purchased for the car and be done with it. I have spent over $8000.00 in parts and some of the body work. If you have any questions feel free to email me or call me at 720-225-7339. I could also email more pictures if you want to see more. If you live locally I would be more that glad to show the you the vehicle. Buyer is responsible for inspecting the vehicle and the parts before bidding.
- Winning bidder is responsible for picking the vehicle and the parts up. I will not ship anything out. - Winning bidder must make a deposit of $500.00 to the specified paypal account within 48hrs of the auction ending. - The remainder is due within 3 days of auction end. - Contact must be made within 48hrs of auction end to set up pick up of the vehicle and the parts. - Vehicle is being sold as is with no warranty. - Do not bid on this vehicle unless you plan on purchasing the vehicle. |

Mazda-Toyota partnership has us dreaming of a rotary hybrid
Mon, Aug 7 2017As you may have seen, Mazda and Toyota are going to be working a little more closely with each other. In their announcement, the two companies said they'd be building an American assembly plant together, and working on electric vehicle technology. But one of the companies' goals got our mental gears turning: It's listed as "Expand complementary products," and it's left very open-ended. The companies say they "will further explore the possibilities of other complementary products on a global level." These are in addition to Mazda providing the Mazda2 to Toyota as the Yaris iA, and Toyota providing Mazda a commercial van to sell in Japan. So what could these future complementary products be? We have a couple of ideas, one that's ludicrous but awesome (and, sadly, probably won't ever happen), and the other grounded in reality. Let's start with the fun one. What's the one thing Mazda fan has been wanting for years? A rotary sports car, of course! And while Mazda has repeatedly said that it has a small band of engineers plugging away at the spinning triangle problem, the odds of Mazda putting it into production have been slim. The inherent thirst of the rotary would make it tough to introduce when fuel economy regulations have been tightening. Plus, Mazda is a small company that needs to stretch every dollar, and having a one-off engine not based on anything else would be expensive. How could Mazda get around these obstacles? This is where the partnership with Toyota comes in, in our long-shot fantasy. Aside from having deep pockets, Toyota has a wealth of knowledge in the realm of hybrids. Thus, why not a rotary hybrid? Electrifying their oddball motor would fix two issues. One is obviously the fuel economy, since the gas engine wouldn't have to run all the time. The other is in providing torque. Rotaries infamously have little torque, especially down low, so adding an electric motor would allow this hypothetical rotary sports car to have a grunty low end, while still providing the Everest-high redline rotary fans like. The idea would be sweetened with the solid-state batteries that Toyota is developing, which could provide lots of electricity without weighing a ton. The rotary-electric mashup notion isn't totally alien to Mazda, either, since the company created an electric Mazda2 with a rotary engine for a range extender — albeit for different reasons. The company even filed a patent for the rotary range extender recently.
Mazda CX-5 named Japan's Car of The Year, Subaru BR-Z wins "Special Award"
Mon, 03 Dec 2012The Mazda CX-5 stamped its Kodo design and SkyActiv technology authority all over the Japan Car of the Year awards, taking the top prize ahead of the Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT 86. It is Mazda's second victory in the last ten years, the 2005 MX-5 claiming the same trophy, and the fourth time the Hiroshima company has won.
The award is decided by 60 local "automotive experts and journalists," and open to any passenger car released in Japan from November 1, 2011 to October 31, 2012 that has sold more than 500 units. Each judge gets 25 votes, his or her top vote getting 10 points, the rest of the points being spread among the judge's choice for the next best four cars.
The second-place getters were the Toyobaru twins with 318 votes, the surprise being they didn't beat or get any closer to the crossover. The Subaru BRZ did claw some mojo back, earning the Special Award given to cars that have made "an exceptional impact." The BMW 3 Series was third overall and won the Import Car of the Year award with plenty of room between it and the second place Range Rover Evoque.
Modded budget Mazda Miata takes on new Porsche Boxster in more challenges
Tue, 23 Sep 2014Earlier this month, our friends across the pond at Auto Express released the first in a two-video series that would see them try and build up a second-generation Mazda MX-5 Miata that could best a standard Porsche Boxster around the track. While that first video detailed the mods to the MX-5 - a supercharger, some suspension upgrades and a new set of super-sticky rubber being chief among them - and set baseline lap times for the stock car, today, we have the results of the 5,000-pound ($8,200) upgrade job.
Of course, we aren't going to spoil those for you. You'll need to watch the full video, which recaps the upgrades before digging into a comparison of both straight-line-speed differences between the 2.7-liter Porsche Boxster and blown Miata, as well as their behavior and lap times on the track.
