1991 Mazda Rx-7 Convertible Convertible 2-door 1.3l on 2040-cars

Year:1991 Mileage:98000 Color: is faded and peeling on both doors
Location:

Up for sale is my Wifes 91 RX-7.

Mileage is around 98k.

Bought this one last year for my wife, fixed it up a little but she's moving on to a different car this year and I have too many other toys, so time to make room in the garage.

Here's the story with the car. Bought this from a old lady in NJ last year who owned the car for about 12 years and put on about 9k in mileage for the 12 years she owned it. She basically used it for a summer car as she is a realtor and took it out when she went to property showings in the summer time.

Reason she sold it was that her husband bought her a white one with lower mileage. This car was neglected for about 2-3 years due to the fact that she now had the newer white one in her garage and this one was parked outside to be exposed to the elements.

I have added pictures of when I bought the car from her. It's pretty much in the same shape with a ton of cleaning done and a few upgraded listed below.

Top is ripped on both sides, not severely, but it will need a new top at some point. The pictures of how the top is ripped is about the same on both sides.

Paint on exterior is faded and peeling on both doors. This is due to the car being outside in the summer time from the previous owner.

Little fender bender and home fix on the drivers side rear where the bumper is mounted to the rear quarter. It can be fixed at the body shop and does not require any welding. (bought it this way)

I've done two oil changed since I bought it. One when I got the car home and another when the car was about 1,000 mile into the oil change.

Spark plugs and wires (NGK) were replaced last year spring when I gave the car a small tune up.

TII Hood was painted with rattle can paint, and it needs some body work to get in line, so this is not a perfect hood, the scoop fin is in great condition with no stress cracks on the fiberglass.

Suspension has been upgraded to Tokico blues on Racing Beat Dropping Springs all the way around. This is brand new from last year spring and has less than 3k miles on the suspension.

Tires in the rear are brand new and basically been driven on for about 2000 miles as that is all we drove it last year summer...Front tires have about 85% tread left on it. so they are semi brand new also..

Stock mufflers and Y pipe have been scrapped. I have upgraded to a Racing Beat Cat back. The 5th and 6 port actuators are still working and all the OEM catalytic converters are still on the car and in good condition.

Interior is in decent shape, no big damages, The leather seats have some cracks and there is a split separation on the driver side seat. Overall I'd give the seats a 7 out of 10. I have seen worse as this is not my first convertible.

I do have the original radio with OEM CD player for the car and it will come with it. I upgraded to something that has Aux in and USB for comfort...

Power antenna will need to be replaced. I have the replacement OEM used antenna to come with the car.

The TII hood will come with the car and the original aluminum hood also. Buyer's responsibility to transport the spare hood.

Air filter was replaced last year spring also.

BBS wheels come with the OEM Key for the center caps.

No idiot lights on the car, everything works and runs as it should. Heat, Defrosters, AC even works. Car passed NYS safety inspection without any issues.

Engine bay is bone stock with NO modifications whatsoever which is the way I wanted to keep it for my wife.

Clutch will need to be bled. It's not mandatory... but It needs to be done, feels a little too squishy for my taste and I've driven too many rx-7's already to know what they should feel like.

There is a clear NY title under my name with NO liens.

Japan may aid carmakers facing U.S. tariff threat

Wed, Sep 12 2018

TOKYO — Japan is considering giving carmakers fiscal support including tax breaks to offset the impact from trade frictions with the United States and a sales-tax hike planned for next year, government sources told Reuters on Wednesday. Going into a second round of trade talks with the United States on Sept. 21, Japan is hoping to avert steep tariffs on its car exports and fend off U.S. demands for a bilateral free trade agreement that could put it under pressure to open politically sensitive markets, like agriculture. "If the trade talks pile pressure on Japan's car exports, we would need to consider measures to support the auto industry," a ruling party official said on condition of anonymity because of sensitivity of the matter. The auto industry accounts for about 20 percent of Japan's overall output and around 60-70 percent of the country's trade surplus with the United States, making it vulnerable to U.S. action against Japanese exports. Japan's biggest automakers and components suppliers fear they could take a significant hit if Washington follows through on proposals to hike tariffs on autos and auto parts to 25 percent. Policymakers also worry that an increase in the sales tax from 8 percent to 10 percent planned for October 2019, could cause a slump in sales of big-ticket items such as cars and home. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has twice postponed the tax hike after the last increase from 5 percent in 2014 dealt a blow to private consumption, which accounts for about 60 percent of the economy. To prevent a pullback in demand after the tax hike, the government may consider large fiscal spending later when it draws up its budget for next year, government sources said. "One option may be to greatly reduce or abolish the automobile purchase tax," one of the government sources said. The government is also considering cuts in the automobile tax and automobile weight tax to help car buyers, the source added. Mazda rolls out unlimited mileage warranty in Canada

Fri, 14 Nov 2014

Cold weather might be starting to grip parts of Canada, but our neighbors to the north are going to be able to drive their 2015 Mazda cars and utilities from Vancouver to Montreal with a little more peace of mind. That's because Mazda Canada is instituting an unlimited mileage warranty for its new models.
The updated plan starts with all 2015 model year vehicles (even those already sold), and the scheme simply removes that distance limit on everything but the emissions defect coverage. That means that the Mazdas have one year of service adjustments, three years of new vehicle coverage, five years on the powertrain, seven years against corrosion and three years of roadside assistance for as many kilometers as the owner drives.
The change removes at least one, tiny piece of anxiety about buying a new vehicle because it's easy to know when the coverage ends. "By offering our customers an Unlimited Mileage Warranty, we believe it will enhance their ownership experience by alleviating concerns such as kilometre limitations, repair costs and resale value," Kory Koreeda, president of Mazda Canada, in the automaker's announcement.
