I have decided to put up for a no reserve auction, my 1988 Mazda RX-7 Convertible (Generation II). The car has just over 127000 miles on it and I was told by the previous owner that the motor was refreshed at 75,000 miles with all new seals, and was repainted with a factory spec paint job not too long ago. The car is powered by Mazda's famous 13B Rotary engine that has a smooth useable torque curve with a 8000rpm redline (typical of rotary motors). These cars are famous, rare, and loved by car collectors and driving enthusiasts. The pictures speak for themselves and were just taken a couple of hours ago on 10/16/2013. The car runs and drives as it should, is comfortable and great to take for a ride with the top down and enjoys the curves or just cruising. The car has not been beaten on or molested and is in stock form with the exception of a Kenwood Excelon CD plater with aux port for ipod/iphone/smartphone hook-up. This car even has speakers in the headrests with a seperate volume control that you can power off and on as you wish. I am not a salesman, so I am not the best at describing cars, so I will let the pictures speak for themselves. NADA values this car at $8,050 high retail and $5,225 average retail, however this is a no reserve auction (the highest bidder will win)! If you have any questions feel free to ask, I will be able to respond quickly as ebay alerts my phone when messaged. You can call as well, (941) 786-4930 (cell).
Thank you for looking and happy bidding!

Toyota, Honda, Nissan and more collaborating to increase fuel efficiency
Sun, 25 May 2014Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Suzuki and Daihatsu have announced an alliance that will see a push to improve fuel economy from both gas-powered and diesel-powered engines by as much as 30 percent before the end of the decade.
The newly assembled Research Association of Automotive Internal Combustion Engines put the roughly $20-million project together, with the Japanese government committing to half the cost while the eight manufacturers will chip in the rest.
According to Automotive News, the automakers will team up and share basic research on internal-combustion engines in a bid to cut costs. Eventually, the results of the research will find its way into a production vehicle, although it's unclear just when we'll see the fruits of this partnership on the road.
Mazda keeping non-hybrid, non-electric Skyactiv strategy
Tue, Mar 29 2016Mazda still thinks that it can buck the trend of adding those fancy batteries and electric motors to its cars. At least for a little while longer. Hopefully. Speaking to Auto Express recently, Mazda's European boss, Jeff Guyton, said that he expects his company's cars to be able to get a lot more efficient without resorting to any of that fancy electrification stuff. "I think there's at least 20-30 percent better fuel economy by the end of the decade," he said. He said that he expected to get to Europe's low target of 95 grams of CO2 per kilometer, "without any significant deployment of electrical drive." This part is all in line with Mazda's long-term Skyactiv strategy, as laid out back in 2011 and first mentioned publicly in 2010. Remember, this is the company that once proudly proclaimed, "Not Electric. Not Hybrid. Not A Drag To Drive." As explained back in 2011, Mazda hopes to wait until other automakers have done all of the heavy lifting on developing plug-in and hybrid tech so that when Mazda enters the market, things will be cheaper. Of course, Mazda has been quietly testing all-electric vehicles and Guyton said that there may be an Mazda EV at some point. "We are interested in electric technology and it will be in the distant future when it will be quite important," he told AE. "But we think it will take some time to be commercially attractive without tax payer-funded incentives." How much of a delay? Well, there is a gas-electric Mazda 3 hybrid available in Japan that uses some powertrain parts from the Toyota Prius, and we all know that the Prius has been around for ages. Maybe in 2025, Mazda will come out with a Leaf-based Mazda 2. Related Video: Green Mazda Fuel Efficiency Electric Hybrid skyactiv mazda skyactiv
Rumored Mazda CX-3 may not be for US
Tue, 18 Feb 2014Mazda has used its Kodo design language to make some of the most attractive, affordable cars in the world right now, with the Mazda3, Mazda6 and CX-5 (pictured above), but it still lacks a crossover in the smaller class, which are becoming popular on the world market. It seems like a natural fit then, that the Japanese company would shrink its CUV design even smaller for a CX-3 to fill the gap. However, a rumor suggests that the compact might not make it to these shores.
The Mazda2-based crossover is due later this summer in Japan and is launching in Europe and emerging markets later, according to Automotive News citing a report in Japan's Nikkei newspaper. The little CUV would cost between 1.5 million yen and 2.0 million yen ($14,700-$19,500) in Japan and be available with diesel and petrol engine options. However, the report made no mention of selling it in North America. There is a glimmer of a chance for the CX-3 here. Mazda is upgrading its Mexican factory to 230,000 annual unit capacity by 2016, which gives it the room to add the new vehicle.
While the midsize CUVs are hugely popular in the US, compacts like the Buick Encore are still a small portion of things. If Mazda could time the CX-3's launch right here, it could take advantage of the lack of competition.
