I'm selling this for my neighbor. He purchased the car in 1988 from the original owner and it had 45000 miles on it. He drives it only in the summer and very little as you can see by the current mileage. The car is all original and in wonderful shape. I just walked around it again and found a couple of door nicks and that's it. Paint is smooth and shines. He has lived behind me for over 20 years and treats this car like a baby. It's usually under a cover and gets washed and waxed every spring and fall. Cloth interior is all original and in excellent condition.
I could not find the model anywhere on the manufacturers plates, so I believe it's the base model which was the S.
Engine plate says it's 35 cu. in. X 2 It's a 4 cylinder and runs on gas.
Mechanically it is sound and could be driven anywhere in the US if you you choose to pick it up. Car starts easily and shifts through all the gears smoothly.
A/C needs to be re-charged, new tires and battery, radio replaced with one with a cassette.
This is not a project car, it's original and in great shape as it is. Buy it and enjoy it immediatly.

Mazda sells 10 millionth car in the US, does something special
Wed, 23 Oct 2013When Lauren Carter of Glen Ellyn, IL was in the market for her first car, she went for a Mazda3. Not a bad choice, but not necessarily remarkable on the surface. After all, Mazda sold 123,361 of them here last year alone. What she didn't know was that the car she bought was the 10 millionth Mazda had sold in the US over the course of its 43-year history here, since selling its first rotary-powered R100 here in 1970.
Rather than let the occasion pass with nothing more than a press release (like the one below), Mazda gave Lauren a brand-new 2014 Mazda3 to replace the 2013 model she had bought. Which is a nice gesture, of course, but also enables Mazda to hold on to the landmark 10,000,000th car in its heritage collection.
Mazda Furai concept designer talks about his car's passing
Tue, 17 Sep 2013Last week, there was mourning at the Autoblog offices as word trickled in that the Mazda Furai concept - one of the coolest, best-looking showcars to grace an auto show stage since the wild and crazy 1960s -had been killed. It was killed on the track with the folks from Top Gear in attendance. We're sure the gods of driving would have wanted it to die on a circuit, but that doesn't make its fiery passing any easier to deal with.
The Furai is the rare concept car that had a lasting appeal with enthusiasts, partly because it was a real, functioning racecar, complete with a wacky three-rotor Wankel engine and cutting-edge Nagare design. Now that it's gone, though, Road & Track's Mallory McMorrow, who was an intern at Mazda Design when the Furai was being styled in 2007, has published an interview with one of the men who penned the Mazda showcar's striking exterior, Carlos Salaff. Mazda CX-5 named Japan's Car of The Year, Subaru BR-Z wins "Special Award"
Mon, 03 Dec 2012The Mazda CX-5 stamped its Kodo design and SkyActiv technology authority all over the Japan Car of the Year awards, taking the top prize ahead of the Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT 86. It is Mazda's second victory in the last ten years, the 2005 MX-5 claiming the same trophy, and the fourth time the Hiroshima company has won.
The award is decided by 60 local "automotive experts and journalists," and open to any passenger car released in Japan from November 1, 2011 to October 31, 2012 that has sold more than 500 units. Each judge gets 25 votes, his or her top vote getting 10 points, the rest of the points being spread among the judge's choice for the next best four cars.
The second-place getters were the Toyobaru twins with 318 votes, the surprise being they didn't beat or get any closer to the crossover. The Subaru BRZ did claw some mojo back, earning the Special Award given to cars that have made "an exceptional impact." The BMW 3 Series was third overall and won the Import Car of the Year award with plenty of room between it and the second place Range Rover Evoque.
