1983 Mazda Rx-7 Gsl Coupe 2-door 1.1l on 2040-cars
East Hampton, New York, United States
MY NAME IS CV AND I WORK IN A REPAIR/RESTORATION SHOP IN EAST HAMPTON, LONG ISLAND. SOMETIMES A CUSTOMER WILL ASK US TO SELL THEIR CAR AND SOMETIMES WE WILL BUY A CUSTOMERS CAR TO FLIP. THIS IS A FLIP CAR. THIS CAR NEEDED A NEW CARB AND WATER PUMP. WE SENT THE CARB TO OUR REBUILDER, ALLSTATE CARB OF ISLIP, AND THE WATER PUMP CAME FROM WORLD PAK . THIS CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN A EAST HAMPTON SUMMER CAR, HENCE THE LOW MILEAGE. THIS RX7 IS A 2 OWNER CAR. THE ENGINE RUNS STRONG, THERE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ANY SMOKE FROM THE TAILPIPE. THE 5 SPEED TRANS SHIFTS NICELY AND THE CLUTCH DOES NOT SLIP. THE CAR DRIVES AND STOPS GOOD. THERE IS POWER BRAKES, BUT THERE IS MANUAL STEERING. THE TIRES HAVE GOOD THREAD ON THEM BUT THEY ARE OLD. BEFORE YOU DO ANY SERIOUS DRIVING I WOULD GET NEW TIRES. THE LEATHER INTERIOR IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION, ONLY SHOWING SLIGHT WEAR. THERE ARE NO RIPS IN THE SEATS. ALL THE GLASS IS IN GREAT CONDITION. IT HAS A MOONROOF AND A PAINTED SUNROOF. IT ALSO HAS POWER WINDOWS, POWER MIRRORS, CRUISE CONTROL REAR WIPER AND A/C. THE A/C IS AN OLD R-12 SYSTEM, IT BLOWS OUT COLD BUT NOT AS COLD AS IT SHOULD. IF YOU FIND SOMEBODY WITH R12 YOU'RE IN LUCK, OR ELSE YOU CAN ALWAYS RETRO TO R134. THE BODY, FLOORS AND CHASSIS ARE SOLID, THIS CAR HAS NEVER HAD ANY RUST ISSUES. THE BODY IS IN GOOD CONDITION, THERE ARE NO MAJOR DENTS. THERE IS HOWEVER SEVERAL PARKING LOT DINGS. MOST OF THE PAINT LOOKS ORIGINAL, EXCEPT FOR THE LEFT FRONT FENDER. THE PAINT ON THE L/F FENDER IS STARTING TO CRACK, A POOR REPAIR AT SOME POINT. THE FRONT BUMPER COULD USE A RESPRAY. BUT THE PAINT SHINES AND THE CAR LOOKS NICE. REMEMBER THIS IS A 31 YEAR OLD CAR, SO ALL THINGS CONSIDERED THIS IS A VERY NICE CAR AND LOTSA FUN TO DRIVE. IF YOU LIVE LOCAL YOU CAN PUT IT UP ON THE LIFT AND CHECK IT OVER OR YOU CAN SEND SOMEONE TO LOOK AT IT FOR YOU. THIS CAR IS BEING SOLD AS IS. THANKS, CV

2021 L.A. Auto Show roundup | All the reveals, reviews, pictures
Thu, Nov 18 2021The L.A. Auto Show took place this week for the first time since the onset of the pandemic. It was a show packed with news and reveals, which hasn't really been the case with other shows we've seen this year, and Autoblog was on the floor covering every minute of it. Well, Riswick and Stocksdale were, anyway. The rest of us were sitting at home in our sweatpants, but hey, we'll take credit anyway. Let's get to it. Hyundai Seven Concept This is the Hyundai Seven Concept, and it’s meant to act as a preview for an incoming electric SUV for the Ioniq brand. It leans more toward the concept side of the spectrum than a production car, but expect the final SUV to take design cues from the Seven Concept. Kia Concept EV9 The Hyundai Seven counterpart isn't the only big, bold electric SUV at L.A. this year. Kia has its own take, and it's a modernized version of the traditional boxy utility vehicle called the Concept EV9. It also previews one of the next production electric cars for the brand, which should look right at home next to things like the Telluride. 2023 Kia Sportage HEV As promised, the 2023 Kia Sportage HEV has been revealed. The hybrid powertrain makes the compact SUV the most powerful version available, and it goes on sale next year. The engine is a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder paired with a 44-kW electric motor. Total output is 226 horsepower. The company didn't give a torque number, but it should basically be the same as the Sorento HEV that has the same basic powertrain: 258 pound-feet. Those numbers are a healthy step up from the 187 horsepower of the base 2.5-liter engine. 2022 Range Rover If you noticed how extra smooth and suave the new Range Rover looked during its recent reveal, Autoblog's James Riswick got a design tour that revealed some of the technological secrets to its success. "Less is more" is harder to achieve than it looks. Fisker Ocean Fisker has brought the new Ocean EV to the L.A. Auto Show, with a public preview at Manhattan Beach and a presence at the show itself. You can watch the public show reveal above, and see more shots from the show floor below. Fisker says the Ocean will start at $37,499 before incentives. That entry model would be the Sport trim with a single, 275-horsepower motor driving the front wheels and 250 miles of estimated range. It also has a 0-60 time of 6.9 seconds. 2023 Toyota bZ4X This is the 2023 Toyota bZ4X, due to hit U.S.

Evo blasts around in a Spa 24H-winning Mazda RX-7
Mon, Jul 20 2015Think of the Mazda RX-7 today, and your thoughts likely turn to the turbocharged third-generation version of the '90s that's an icon among the tuning and drifting communities. Many years before that swoopy coupe was hanging the tail out, the first model of RX-7 was also quite a track star, though. Evo's Richard Meaden has gotten ahold of a race-prepped version that counts a victory in the 1981 Spa 24 Hours to its name – the first Japanese car to claim that honor – for a fantastic video. With 225 horsepower and weighing around 1,984 pounds, this RX-7 doesn't look like a giant killer on paper. However as Meaden illustrates, the coupe puts those rotary-powered ponies to very good use. Driving it requires constantly keeping things on the boil because the muscle is essentially absent below 7,000 rpm. Once in the sweet spot, things start progressing quickly, though. As a wonderful cap to the wall of noise from the engine, little licks of flame also shoot out of the exhaust on downshifts. Thankfully, Evo's video team captures all of the mechanical noises quite well, and the clip is a treat for those with a good pair of headphones. Despite the race-winning pedigree, Meaden has no problem grabbing the little coupe by the scruff of the neck. He chucks it through the corners to get the tail loose, and the little wisps of smoke from the rear tires prove the original RX-7 knows how to drift too. These early cars definitely worth being remembered in the pantheon of Mazda performance.
