2002 Mazda Protege Es Sedan 4-door 2.0l on 2040-cars
Brandon, Florida, United States
Selling my 2002 Protege because i need something bigger . Has a few repair to do which has nothing to do with the car's ability to run .
I drive it everyday to and from work (about 40 miles/day) , so the mileage will increase by the time the auction ends. -- It has a VIS Racing carbon fiber hood on it that i put 5 months ago ( paid $765 for it) -- Body kit was also installed around the same time . The guy who installed it did a pretty bad job so you will need to have it clamped and adjusted . -- It has an 18in wheels and tires on it . -- The check engine light has been on since i bought it in December 2011 . It is because of the catalytic converter , it needs to be replaced or fixed. -- The paint is not the original of course and was put on also five months ago ( exterior only) The car runs good , a little rust on both sides of the rear fenders but that's it . Ask questions if you need to , i will answer as soon as i get them . YOU WIN IT YOU PAY FOR IT , HAPPY BIDDING . |

Mazda6 diesel to race at Rolex 24, team and drivers announced
Fri, 04 Jan 2013Mazda is getting serious about showing off the Skyactiv-D turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine in the Mazda6. The automaker has just announced it will campaign three diesel Mazda6 racers in the Grand-Am GX class of the upcoming 2013 Rolex 24 at Daytona in a quest to walk away with the company's 24th class win. Mazda partnered with SpeedSource to develop the race version of the new sedan, with Japanese and American engineers lending a helping hand where needed. Meanwhile, Freedom Autosport and Visit Florida Racing/SpeedSource/Yellow Dragon Racing will helm teams of their own.
Each car will make use of a five-driver team for the 24-hour race on January 26. In the interim, you can check out the full press release below for more information as well as the full driver roster. Mazda says we can expect to see the No. 70 SpeedSource car under the lights at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show later this month, as well.
Mazda Furai concept designer talks about his car's passing
Tue, 17 Sep 2013Last week, there was mourning at the Autoblog offices as word trickled in that the Mazda Furai concept - one of the coolest, best-looking showcars to grace an auto show stage since the wild and crazy 1960s -had been killed. It was killed on the track with the folks from Top Gear in attendance. We're sure the gods of driving would have wanted it to die on a circuit, but that doesn't make its fiery passing any easier to deal with.
The Furai is the rare concept car that had a lasting appeal with enthusiasts, partly because it was a real, functioning racecar, complete with a wacky three-rotor Wankel engine and cutting-edge Nagare design. Now that it's gone, though, Road & Track's Mallory McMorrow, who was an intern at Mazda Design when the Furai was being styled in 2007, has published an interview with one of the men who penned the Mazda showcar's striking exterior, Carlos Salaff. It's a great piece on the emotional connection between a designer and his creation, and one you should take the time to read. Click on over to R&T for the full story.
