2006 Mazdaspeed 6 Sedan 4-door 2.3l Turbo Awd - Manual on 2040-cars
Schererville, Indiana, United States
You are bidding on a 2006 MazdaSpeed 6 AWD. The car has 101k miles and it's a rare find! The MazdaSpeed 6 was only in production for 2 years (2006 & 2007). The MazdaSpeed 6 is known as the fastest-accelarating and most-advanced sports sedan that Mazda has ever built. The 2.3L Inline 4 Turbo engine produces 274 horsepower and goes 0-60 in about 6 seconds. The way this car handles, makes for a great combination of sport & comfort. The car is very reliable and drives great. As you can see, it does have a rebuilt title meaning it passed necessary inspections in order to be eligible for registration. I have posted the original picture of how the car looked when I first got it, before inspections. EXTERIOR CONDITION Overall the exterior looks very nice. The color is shiny! The black hood and rear spoiler are done with Plasti Dip paint which peals right off without leaving any residue in case you don't like the look. The wheels on the car are 18" in okay condition and they are aftermarket. I will include the original wheels which are in nice shape, however need new tires. There are a few exterior imperfections: The front bumper has a small tear on the bottom right in the middle. There is a small ding on the driver's side door (tiny; looks like a rock chip). There was some rust starting to form on the bottom of both of the rear doors. I cleaned this up and I sealed it with POR-15 which is supposed to stop rust. At the same time, I did the undercarriage of the car which was rust free. I decided to do this as a precaution as I was planning to drive the car during winter as well. Also, there is a scratch on the rear bumper on the driver's side. There is also a crack in the lower part of the front windshield (if the car sells for over 6k, I will include a replacement windshield that just needs to be installed). INTERIOR CONDITION The interior is in great condition as you can see from the pictures. Everything works as it should; the radio is 10x better than in my Subaru STI. Some minor issues: One of the illuminating lightbulbs on the heater switch is out. There is some glue left over on the dashboard which I could not remove. It seems like it was leftover from what I'm assuming was a GPS. There is a tear in the rear leather seats, however as you can see in the pictures, I have already purchased and am including the new bottom cushion seat that is in perfect condition. MECHANICAL CONDITION The car runs smoothly; the engine runs strong. The turbo spools up nicely; it doesn't burn oil. The turbo was changed under warranty when the car was under 30k miles. It's all stock except for the cold air intake. I replaced the transmission oil, transfer case oil, & differential oil about 5k miles ago. The engine oil was replaced 1k miles ago. All fluids used were synthetic. I also replaced the rear shocks. One item that needs attention is when I was replacing the shocks, I noticed that the rear sway bar end links need to be replaced soon. When you go over sharp bumps, they started to rattle after the shocks were replaced since the car is stiffer now. This is a quick $50 fix and probably half an hour of work. PAYMENT & SHIPPING The vehicle is being sold in AS-IS condition with no warranty. The BUYER is responsible for pick up or shipping of the vehicle. Payment is due upon pick up. Cash, Wire Transfer, or Certified Cashier's Check only! Please note that funds will need to be verified prior to the release of the vehicle. |

8 cars we're most looking forward to driving in 2015
Mon, Jan 5 2015Now that 2014 is officially in the books, it's time to look ahead. And following our list of the cars we liked best last year, we're now setting our sights at the hot new metal that's coming our way in 2015. Some of these, we've already seen. And some are still set to debut during the 2015 auto show season. But these are the machines that keep us going – the things on the horizon that we're particularly stoked to drive, and drive hard. Jeep Renegade Not the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Not the Ford Mustang GT350. Not the new John Cooper Works Mini. Nope, I'm looking forward to the adorable, trail-rated Jeep Renegade. And that's because I really, really, really like our long-term Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I do not, however, care too much for the Cherokee's looks, and I really don't like its $38,059 price tag. The Renegade Trailhawk, meanwhile, promises much of the same rough-and-tumble character as its big brother, but at what we expect will be a more reasonable price (I'm personally wagering on the baby Jeep's off-road model starting at no more than $23,000). With a 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a nine-speed automatic, it should also be a bit easier to fill than the V6-powered Cherokee. Also, I can't help but love the way the Renegade looks. It's like someone took a Wrangler, squished it by 50 percent and then handed it off to George Clinton for a healthy dose of funk. The interior, with its bright, expressive trims and color schemes should also be a really nice place to spend some time. I'll be attending the Renegade's launch later this month, so I'll have a much shorter wait than my colleagues. Here's hoping the baby Jeep lives up to my expectations. – Brandon Turkus Associate Editor Mazda MX-5 Miata Here's an uncomfortable truth: I'd rather spend a day driving a properly sorted Mazda MX-5 Miata of any generation on a winding road than I would nearly any other vehicle, regardless of power, price or prestige. It's not just that I prize top-down driving and enjoy the Miata's small size because it gives me more road to play with. I just find there's more motoring joy to be had with high-fidelity handling and an uncorrupted car-to-driver communication loop than I do with face-distorting power or grip – let alone valet-stand gravitas. But perhaps most of all, I love Miatas because they can deliver that level of feedback and driver reward at modest speeds that won't put the locals on edge or endanger lives – you can use more of the car more of the time.
2015 Mazda3 finally pairs 6-speed manual with larger engine
Mon, 15 Sep 2014With all of the hype and anticipation surrounding the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata, the Japanese brand was able to sneak another driver-oriented model into its lineup. The company's spec page for the 2015 Mazda3 hatchback and sedan have been updated to list the Skyactiv-G 2.5-liter four-cylinder as finally being available with a six-speed manual transmission, in addition to the previous six-speed automatic. The automaker had promised the row-your-own gearbox with the bigger engine back when it first announced the new Mazda3, but it waited a model year to actually put the combo on sale.
According to Mazda's specs, the manual gearbox trims 40 pounds off of a hatchback or 54 pounds off of a sedan in s Touring and s Grand Touring trims. However, shedding that weight doesn't necessarily boost fuel economy. The six-speed hatch is rated at 26 miles per gallon city and 35 mpg highway, compared to 27/37 for the automatic. The manual sedan is rated at 25/37 city/highway mpg, versus 28/39 with the auto. Buyers can save a little money by opting for the manual, though. Regardless of body style, it's about $1,050 cheaper than the automatic.
Autoblog reached out to Mazda and learned that the 2.5L 6MT models started hitting dealers in August. The 2.5 wasn't initially available with the stick because, "We had to prioritize engineering resources and the 2.5L 6MT was not a high priority combination. Globally, smaller engines are preferred in terms of sales," a Mazda spokesperson explained via email. The automaker also notes that Austrailia will probably be the only other market outside of North America to get the six-speed gearbox with the larger engine.
Weekly Recap: Diesel scandal continues to fuel VW's woes
Sat, Oct 3 2015Volkswagen's woes continued this week when it was delisted from the Dow Jones Sustainability Index and stripped of awards. Senators are also lining up to advocate for criminal and civil action against the automaker, and its consumer reputation is in tatters. Put simply, it's been another rough period for VW. Despite this, the company eked out a sales gain of less than one percent in September, though that was well behind the overall market's performance. Sister brand Audi, which sells a diesel A3, was less affected, posting a 16-percent gain in September. Revelations that Volkswagen rigged millions of diesel-powered cars around the world didn't surface until September 18, so the full sales impact of the ongoing scandal won't likely be felt until October. Meanwhile, VW's image continues to take a beating, and an AutoPacific survey found only one in 14 vehicle owners have a positive opinion of the company. Before the scandal broke, three-quarters of respondents had a positive view of VW. The survey also found 64 percent don't trust Volkswagen, though the same number believe other companies are or may also be using cheating devices to pass emissions tests. "The reputation of diesels has been severely damaged, at least for the short term," Ed Kim, AutoPacific's vice president of industry analysis, said in a statement. Despite the lingering malaise, experts believe VW will recover, just as Toyota and General Motors eventually emerged from their own high-profile controversies. "Consumers have proven through numerous recalls that they are resilient and quickly return to their buying habits," Kim said. OTHER NEWS & NOTES Mazda to reveal sports car concept in Tokyo Mazda will bring a curvy sports car concept to the Tokyo Motor Show in October. The automaker is being especially coy with the details, only releasing the dark teaser shot that you see to the right and a cryptic statement that suggests the concept "condense[s] Mazda's entire history of sports-car development into a single model." Immediately, speculation abounded this is an RX-7 and RX-8 successor, though Mazda didn't specify what engine the concept will have. Reportedly, the company is still working on rotary engines. Mazda will have a Cosmo Sport 110S on its stand in Tokyo, which pioneered rotary technology in 1967. Read into that what you will.
