Oh this pains me to sell my car but time to start a family, so Mini-van time uggg..

2006 Mazda Speed 6 Ground Touring Edition, White Pearl Coat exterior with Black leather interior, this car is very hard to find with these options and colors.

Features:
- Only 63,256 original miles
- 6 Speed Manual Transmission
- 2.3 Liter 4 cylinder TURBO engine, 275hp and 280 ft. lbs of torque, this car is fast, very fast.

My car is meticulously maintained, I keep my vehicles in top condition, the car has ALWAYS stayed in the garage, never stays outside in the rain, snow, etc.  There is absolutely no rust, no dulling of the paint, no scratches, no dents, nothing.  I wax the car twice a year with Meguiars Gold Class Carnauba Paste Wax, one look at the paint and you can see what I mean.  This white pearl coat paint is very nice, it has a shimmer effect in the sunlight, very sharp looking.

The interior of the car looks brand new, the black leather is perfect, I always keep the leather polished and conditioned.

All new tires, brakes and rotors were put on the car roughly 7k miles ago, so they have plenty of life left.

The clutch is perfect, I am very easy on the car and clutch, I've driven manual cars all my life.  I rarely bring the engine above 4k RPMs.. and if you have researched this car you will know that you can run this car at 4 -5 k RPM's all day long without hurting it.  The turbo is perfect, holds high compression, it comes on at very low RPM (around 2k rpms) so it really pulls you up hills, passing on highways, etc.  I always shift at proper RPM's and do not over-load the turbo at low RPM's.. (if you don't know what that means, you probably should not be looking at a turbo-charged car)...being a very mechanically inclined engineer I guess you can call me Anal with my vehicles, but I expect them to last me a long time, hence proper driving skills and maintenance.

I run Amsoil fully synthetic oil which is changed every 5k miles (this is one of the best oils you can buy). I have all the records for oil changes, etc.  Again, high quality oil is extremely important for the life of the Turbo, I only run the best.

I have kept the car completely stock, never did any engine, turbo, intake, etc. modifications.  The only thing added is professionally installed tint on all windows expect the windshield.

This car is hard to find, especially in this color combination with the Grand Touring edition and this low of miles.  Even harder to find is a car like this completely stock, never modified, never abused, never raced, etc.  If you are a serious buyer, you already know what I mean if you have been looking for this particular car, most people abuse them, not mine, mine was babied her entire life.  I planned on keeping this car for many many years, but starting a family soon means I turn into mini-van driving daddy :-(

These cars were only produced for 2 years, and only 20 thousand were made.  The reason I bought this car is because it has All Wheel Drive, a 6-speed manual transmission, close to a 300hp Turbo charged engine, and she is beautiful, classy looking, the interior puts others to shame and that's what makes this car so rare. (compare to an STI or Lancer interior and you will know exactly what I mean)
Do NOT even try to compare this model to a regular Mazda 6, totally different animals, different build quality, way different performance, even built in different plants, this car comes 100% from Japan.

I fully expect to sell this car to somebody looking specifically for this model.  I want this car to go to somebody who will care for it the way I always have, and somebody who appreciates what this car offers.  If you are looking for just a regular sedan to haul around the family, please don't even bid, this car is an enthusiast vehicle, and deserves to be treated and maintained as such.

I will ONLY sell this car to somebody who physically comes here to pick her up.  If I sense you are a scammer or wasting my time, don't expect me to even respond to you.  If you are looking seriously at this car, you should already know what you are looking at, I will answer only serious questions.

Thanks for looking and happy bidding!

Mazda6 diesel to race at Rolex 24, team and drivers announced

Fri, 04 Jan 2013

Mazda is getting serious about showing off the Skyactiv-D turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine in the Mazda6. The automaker has just announced it will campaign three diesel Mazda6 racers in the Grand-Am GX class of the upcoming 2013 Rolex 24 at Daytona in a quest to walk away with the company's 24th class win. Mazda partnered with SpeedSource to develop the race version of the new sedan, with Japanese and American engineers lending a helping hand where needed. Meanwhile, Freedom Autosport and Visit Florida Racing/SpeedSource/Yellow Dragon Racing will helm teams of their own.
Each car will make use of a five-driver team for the 24-hour race on January 26. In the interim, you can check out the full press release below for more information as well as the full driver roster. Mazda says we can expect to see the No. 70 SpeedSource car under the lights at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show later this month, as well.

2016 Mazda CX-3 scores 29/35 mpg EPA ratings

Tue, Jun 9 2015

Looking for a subcompact crossover that won't cost you too much at the pumps? Your best bet is now the new Mazda CX-3, according to fuel economy figures released by the EPA. Mazda's new baby crossover has been rated by the US government agency at 29 miles per gallon in the city, 35 on the highway, and 31 on the combined cycle. That's in front-drive spec, giving the CX-3 better fuel economy than anything else in its class (at least, that is, with an automatic transmission.) Option it with all-wheel drive and you'll take a slight penalty at 27 mpg in the city, 32 on the highway, and 29 combined. According to Mazda that still "makes it among the most fuel-efficient all-wheel-drive vehicles available in the US." Whichever drivetrain option you go for, the CX-3 packs a 2.0-liter inline-four with direct injection (Skyactiv-G in Mazda-speak) good for 146 horsepower and just as much torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The first examples will begin reaching American showrooms later this summer. As Mazda's first foray into the quickly burgeoning subcompact crossover class of vehicles, CX-3 provides those seeking a purposeful, stylish and sporty vehicle option that bucks convention. CX-3 offers standard keyless ignition and backup camera, and is available with features that are unrivalled in its class like Mazda Radar Cruise Control, adaptive LED headlights and Mazda's signature driving experience. Front-wheel-drive models have EPA-estimated fuel economy of 29 mpg city/35 mpg highway/31 mpg combined, while models equipped with Mazda's predictive i-ACTIV AWD have EPA-estimated fuel economy of 27 mpg city/32 mpg highway/29 mpg combined. That makes it among the most-efficient all-wheel-drive vehicles available in the U.S. "SKYACTIV Technology means we don't have to compromise when it comes to performance, efficiency and fun-to-drive dynamics," said Jim O'Sullivan, president and CEO, Mazda North American Operations.

Miata is always the answer, but not always the best one

Mon, Jan 30 2017

The Mazda MX-5 Miata is a surprisingly versatile car. Not only is it hilariously fun on back roads and closed courses, it can also be a decent daily driver thanks to its solid gas mileage and usable trunk. But, it doesn't excel in every driving situation. Specifically long trips at high speeds, and those involving canine companions. This weekend, I did a roughly 500-mile round trip to my parents' home in Indiana to pick up my recently adopted dog. The trip was 90-percent highways, and I heard every single mile. Our MX-5 Miata Club has the minimally insulated top also found on the base level trim, and at highway speeds the wind and road noise fills the cabin with a loud, steady roar. This likely won't be a problem for fans of white noise, and it can be overcome by the stereo. However, over a few hundred miles, it starts to get old. The suspension, while superb for carving corners, also gets tiresome. On rough Rust Belt highways, it would become a bit overwhelmed, and the whole car would shiver and shake. On the plus side, nothing squeaked, rattled, or fell off in these instances. There are a few other quirks that show up on long trips. The small pedal box and floor-mounted throttle means that there isn't a particularly comfortable place to rest your right foot when the cruise control is set. Neither the door nor the center console have much padding either, so leaning your knees against them for long periods of time isn't advisable. The good news is that the seat itself was surprisingly comfortable, and never once was I feeling any back pain. Plus, when not using the cruise control, the seating position is great, allowing me to stretch out and relax. When I picked up my four-legged compatriot (a 7-year-old mix of unknown breeds named Ruby, pictured above), things became a tad tight. Standing up, she thoroughly filled the passenger compartment. For reference, she's a little over 50 pounds and stands a little more than 2 feet tall. Much bigger dogs, like my family's coonhound and German shepherd mix, won't really fit. This also made her prone to nearly face-planting on the dashboard anytime the car slowed down. She eventually figured out that simply curling up on the seat bottom was the best choice, and then slept for most of the trip. So it worked out, but I think I may have found the limit of a Miata's dog capacity. Would any of this make me want a Miata less? Certainly not. That is if I had a second car.
