2009 Mazda 3 Sedan With Only 50,000 Miles! 2.0 Liter 4 Cylinder 4-speed Auto on 2040-cars
Henrico, Virginia, United States
Very good overall condition, the car looks practically new. Very zippy and fun to drive. Outstanding gas mileage - 26 city / 34 highway. Good tires, about 50% thread left. Has a sunroof (rare feature for this model!), back spoiler and tinted windows.
The vehicle has a rebuilt title. This means it was damaged in an accident, and the insurance company decided not to restore it and sold it on an auction. But don't let this fact dishearten you. The car was side-swiped by another car, and damages were very light, and that is why I bought it from the auction. Subsequently, the car was fully restored by professionals back to mint condition. All OEM parts were used for replacements, and filler was used only on one small spot on the rear wheel arch. It has ZERO mechanical problems and very few body blemishes (as seen on the pictures). It has no "moaning", "groaning" or "rattling" sounds people warn about in blogs. Paint job is a perfect match and looks immaculate all around. The interior has no wear or tear to speak of. The car is very clean, doesn't have any smells or stains . I am a big fan of rebuilt cars. Generally speaking, I consider rebuilding them as a way to save serious money. My 2009 Lexus RX350 has a rebuilt title, and I also restored a 2006 Buick Rendezvous for my mom. Both cars are driven daily for more than 3 years without any problems. The vehicle has no prior accidents, this is the only one, I will provide the title report. After restoration this Mazda was driven by my son for more than 6 months (~6000 miles) without a single trouble, but he lives on campus now and doesn't need it much. So I am selling it now $3000+ below its market value, to pass the savings to you. Vehicle is sold as is and with no warranties expressed or implied. It is listed for sale locally as well, so I reserve the right to end this sale at any time. I will answer questions and send more pictures upon request. |

Masamichi Kogai new Mazda president and CEO
Fri, 10 May 2013There's some executive rearranging going on in the top suite at Mazda Motor Corporation in Japan, with current CEO Takashi Yamanouchi telling reporters there "I'd like to hand over the work to younger people" now that the company has returned to profitability. Yamanouchi became CEO on November 19, 2008 of an independent Mazda that had to fight for its future in the immediate aftermath of the global financial crisis. What followed was four years of losses before finally getting back to black last year.
Masamichi Kogai (pictured) will be appointed the new president and CEO on June 25, pending approval at the company's annual general shareholders' meeting. Kogai assisted Seita Kanai with the production-efficiency initiative that Mazda called Mono Tsukuri Innovation, which worked to give export-dependent Mazda the best chance at profitability in spite of a rising yen. Kogai, lately in charge of production and purchasing, has been with the company since 1977 and worked in areas from R&D to logistics.
Kanai, who headed the Mono Tsukuri effort and was among the leadership on Skyactiv, will be promoted from executive vice president to vice chairman. Akira Marumoto will become executive VP of Mazda and assistant to new president Kogai. Yamanouchi will remain Chairman of the Board. There's a short press release below to make it official.
2014 Mazda3 Sedan
Wed, 02 Oct 2013Playing Favorites
We're not going to beat around the bush: for the kind of person who willfully chooses to take longer, windier and more scenic routes to get to Point B, the 2014 Mazda3 is the new compact car measuring stick by which others will be judged. That doesn't, of course, make it the right choice for every buyer.
We'll spend the next thousand words or so explaining the whys and hows that make our opening statement a fact, but for now, suffice it to say that Mazda has engineered its latest crop of vehicles - namely the CX-5, Mazda6 and its smaller sibling and subject of this test, the Mazda3 - from the ground up. Absolutely everything about the Mazda3 is refined for 2014, from its chassis to its engines and everything in between, and it was done in a completely new and holistic way. Every component, subcomponent and stamping required to bolt and weld together an automobile was rethought to ensure the Mazda3 has what it takes to compete with such established benchmarks as the Honda Civic and Ford Focus.
Mazda shows lightweight MX-5 Spyder and Speedster at SEMA
Tue, Nov 3 2015Ever since Mazda dropped the first teaser on us last week, we've been looking forward to seeing what it had in store for us at SEMA this year. Now we've seen it what Mazda has dubbed the MX-5 Spyder and MX-5 Speedster, and they were worth the wait. The Spyder goes vintage with a silver paintjob and a brown top stretched overhead. It also has an aero kit, grille, and tonneau cover done up in carbon fiber, rides on 17-inch wheels, and features a natural leather interior. The blue Speedster, meanwhile, goes for the stripped-down, wind-in-your-hair experience. It has no roof or windshield, just a tiny deflector at the front of the dashboard. It's dropped an inch closer to the ground on an adjustable coilover suspension with 16-inch alloys, and features a center-exit exhaust. Carbon fiber helps trim 250 pounds from the curb weight, along with a stripped out interior trimmed in Alcantara. Both look pretty slick, and disappoint only in so far as they (like so many of their predecessor concepts) won't be heading for production. If they were, we'd be hard pressed to choose between the two. Which would you go for? Mazda Reveals Extreme Lightweight Design Concepts at 2015 SEMA MX-5 Concepts Display Two Different Takes on Staying True to Pure, Lightweight Sports Car Philosophy LAS VEGAS (November 3, 2015) – Mazda revealed two design concepts today at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, based on its all-new 2016 MX-5 Miata—MX-5 Spyder and MX-5 Speedster—demonstrating two vastly different takes on lightweight, open-air performance. Lightweight. Fun-to-drive. Roadster. Those three tenets have served as the foundation for the Mazda MX-5 Miata since its 1989 introduction and continue to serve the new fourth-generation model. Focused, lightweight engineering is a guiding principle of every Mazda vehicle made with SKYACTIV Technology, allowing for greater efficiency, improved performance and agile handling dynamics. But what if that sense of lightweight performance were taken to the extreme? What if Mazda's North American designers harkened back to vintage roadsters to create thoroughly modern, bespoke concepts for what a lightweight performance car should be The results would be the MX-5 Spyder and MX-5 Speedster concepts. "Both MX-5 Spyder and MX-5 Speedster are uncompromising designs that highlight the core strengths of MX-5," said Ken Saward, design manager, Mazda North American Operations.
