2006 Mazda 3 I Sedan 4-door 2.0l on 2040-cars

this 2006 mazda 3 has had one female owner since new, non smoker, no stains or smells, inside feels pretty close to a new car. the interior is in very nice condition. no wear on the upholstery, no tears or stains or burns or scratches or anything really, the interior is spectacular for a car of this age and miles.
the body is also in very nice condition, however it's not flawless, it does have a few minor pings and light marks here and there, of course this is not a brand new car. I'll try to point out all the imperfections I see. the right side quarter panel has a few very light dings, the kind of thing you can see if you happen to catch the right reflection but not very visible in pictures, there are also a few tiny marks that look like they may polish out on the right side, one on the quarter panel and one on the door, the kind of mark where someone touched there door against it in a parking lot. very minor but they are there so I'm telling you about them. the drivers side is also very nice, there are a few very tiny touch up marks on the rear door and a slight ding towards the rear of the rear door and there is a door ding on the left side quarter, right over the wheel. all the kind of stuff that's barely noticeable unless you're looking for it. there is also a 1" scratch right behind the drivers side door handle that has been touched up. this one scratch is probably the worse part of the whole body paint wise. other things worth pointing out is the headlights are a bit faded and cloudy and the rear bumper lower black trim has a fe marks from parking bumps, it's not new but overall it does still look very nice. the car runs great and everything works fine, car needs nothing other than maybe an oil change. the tires are very good. the car feels and drives very tight and smooth. the car has been sitting for several months since new car is in so the brakes are a little rusty from sitting but that should clean up with a few good high speed stops to clean them up. brakes seem to be at ~50% life |

2014 Mazda3
Tue, 28 Jan 2014Almost by definition, affordable compact cars aren't supposed to be fun. Sure, hot hatches get our blood pumping, but not long ago, the terms "compact car" and "economy car" could safely be used interchangeably. A key exception for the last decade has been the Mazda3, a car that has consistently delivered more dynamic thrills and tactile feedback than its contemporaries. Competitors have picked up their game significantly in recent years, however, leaving the Mazda3 wanting in several areas, including overall refinement, in-car technology and cabin appointments, so Mazda went back to the drawing board to create this all-new third-gen model for 2014.
Including this redesigned 2014 model, Mazda's recent crop of new products have targeted North America's hottest non-truck segments - compact car, midsize sedan and compact crossover/SUV. Yet it might be fair to call this launch the most important of them all, as the 3 remains the Japanese marque's best-selling vehicle. While America's pool of compact hatchbacks isn't exactly deep, the 2014 Mazda3 still has a challenging road ahead of it competing against two-box compacts that include the popular Ford Focus and recent additions like the all-new Kia Forte and the still-new Hyundai Elantra GT.
'Ringbanana' Miata is improbable 9-minute Nurburgring car
Wed, Aug 12 2015The combination of being inexpensive, capable, reliable, and friendly to all skill levels makes the Mazda Miata one of the world's most popular platforms for motorsports, but the roadsters aren't exactly rocketships. What would it take to lap a ratty, first-gen example around the Nurburgring Nordschleife in less than nine minutes? We're not exactly sure, but the Ringbanana team intends to discover the answer. The project is the type of thing that gets dreamed up after a few too many pilsners: buy the cheapest running Miata available and put as little money necessary into the roadster to make it capable around the 'Ring. As the Best-Motoring-inspired intro explains, the Mazda is largely stock other than some Fulda performance tires, possibly aftermarket springs, and a stripped interior. The video above shows the baseline test, and the convertible manages a 9:21.8 circuit, which doesn't seem too bad as a start. Mazda previews 2016 Miata Global MX-5 Cup racer
Wed, 05 Nov 2014At this point, we all know that the Mazda MX-5 Miata is a highly capable racing platform. Mazda even claims that the car is the most road-raced model in the world. Fittingly, then, the Japanese brand is making a huge announcement about the future of motorsport for its next-generation convertible. The MX-5 Cup is going worldwide in 2016 as the MX-5 Global Cup, and all of the racers are getting behind the wheel of the upcoming fourth-gen Miata, similar to the gorgeous redhead pictured above.
"It has long been our goal to see Mazda fans around the world competing in identical MX-5s, and the launch of the 2016 MX-5 Miata is the perfect time to make this goal a reality," said Masahiro Moro, Managing Executive Officer in charge of Global Sales, Marketing and Customer Service for Mazda in the company's announcement.
The racing version makes its grand debut at this year's SEMA show, although at the moment it's really more of a concept. Mazda confirms that the racer uses the 2.0-liter SkyActiv four-cylinder, but the other important parts like tires, suspension and safety equipment are not yet determined. The cars "will be sold ready to race from a single supplier," according to automaker's announcement for the series.
