Inherited this car from my mother. It literally was driven by a little old lady on a short commute to work...that's why the mileage is so low. This car was never raced and is very, very reliable. She babied it: all scheduled maintenance performed by the dealer, regular oil changes.  The car is still in excellent condition. If you're familiar with the Mazda 3, it's known for it's combination of excellent mechanical ratings and a sporty, economical 4 cylinder engine with 160 HP. When I drove it back from my mother's house, the car got 30 MPG on the highway. Drives great. Automatic transmission is also excellent for a beginning driver. Really worry free.

I'm selling because we inherited the car and we already have 4 other vehicles. It's just been sitting in our garage the past month and we need the garage space. The only thing this car needs to be PERFECT is a new set of brake pads. The current set has recently started squeaking...no grinding, just squeaking.

The only minor thing that ever happened to this car was it was involved in a minor fender bender back in 2010. The rear hatch was dented so it was replaced.

Blue book on this car is ~$6800. The reserve is much less because we need the garage space. Email me with questions.

Please keep in mind, this car is also being advertised in the local paper so I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells locally. The car is located in Knoxville, TN and can be driven anywhere in the US. If you plan on shipping this car, all shipping fees must be paid by the buyer. The buyer is responsible for contracting with arranging pickup with a shipper. I can be here to watch it being loaded onto the shipper's trailer.

Weekly Recap: Geneva's splendor reflects growing demand for ultra-luxury cars

Sat, Mar 7 2015

Geneva is one of the most glittering auto shows in the world, but the list of high-powered and bespoke luxury cars was decadent this year even by the rich standards of the Swiss exhibition. It's great for enthusiasts to revel in the flame-throwing Aston Martin Vulcan, the racing-inspired elegance of the Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 concept and the insane performance of the Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce, but there's a reason for all of this opulence: the luxury market is big business. And it's growing. IHS Automotive forecasts that so-called ultra-premium sales will nearly triple this decade from 123,000 to 353,000 units around the world. The estimate includes brands like Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari and Rolls-Royce, but doesn't count BMW, Mercedes and Audi, which offer less expensive models in addition to their high-end flagships. Though IHS includes Porsche and its relatively large volume in the study, the ultra-premium segment is still set grow at about the same rate, even without the German automaker's figures. So what is propelling all of this growth in the most expensive segment of the auto industry? Put simply, there's more rich people. IHS Automotive principal analyst Tim Urquhart pointed to economic expansion in China, market recovery in the United States and a surge in the lucrative technology sector as contributing factors. This dovetails with a research report by UK-based Oxfam, an international relief organization, which found the world's richest one-percent owned 48 percent of global wealth in 2014, and it's expected to increase to more than 50 percent by 2016. View 17 Photos Carmakers are moving quickly to capitalize with new products, expanding their portfolios with low-volume speedsters like the 800-hp V12 Vulcan at Geneva, and plans to enter new segments, like Rolls-Royce's strategy to make an SUV. "Ultra-premium carmakers are looking to explore ways of growing their product offerings, and thus their bottom lines, in this most potentially profitable of segments," Urquhart wrote in a report on the Geneva show. In a nutshell, there are more choices for people with more money. It's a good time to have expensive taste. Other News & Notes 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata production launches It won't be long now. Mazda announces live-streaming vehicle intro on Xbox

Wed, 19 Jun 2013

In April, Mazda introduced a marketing campaign titled "Game Changers" to showcase how certain people have made significant impacts in their respective sports, and now it's the Japanese automaker that is changing the game by creating an innovative way to launch a new product. Mazda is teaming up with Xbox to offer a first-of-its-kind live-streaming global debut of a new product. Mazda didn't say which model will be debuted, but our guess is that it will be the next-generation Mazda3.
The actual reveal will take place at 9 pm on June 26 during a live concert from the band Metric in New York City, but there will be other live events preceding the concert in Melbourne, St. Petersburg, Istanbul and London. Mazda will be promoting the event on social media using the hashtag #GameChanger, and there is also a contest on Xbox where one winner will receive $2,500 to attend a music event of their choice. Scroll down for the full details of the contest and vehicle debut event.
