For sale by owner is a 1988 Mazda 323 GTX turbo AWD. This is a rare car and only produced for two years. Only 1243 we're imported to the USA as a road going version of its group "A" rally car. The price of $13,000 was double that of a standard Mazda 323, but this was a special version indeed ! A 16-valve twin cam turbo charged engine, all wheel drive with locking differential , A/C , power steering, digital dash and sunroof, five speed manual gear box , recaro bucket seats, alloy wheels, rear spoiler, original factory stereo, this car is all original with no modifications. Believed to be only 400 of this car left. This is a chance to buy the only one for sale that I could find anywhere , and 100% the same as it left the factory. All the service is up to date, new breaks, new battery. The a/c works great, windows work , good tires all around, car starts, runs, shifts, stops, amazingly. The power this car has and handling are about unbelievable.  I am a private seller, not a dealer, broker, not selling for a friend, clear fla title in my name. What the car needs. Visit to the dent dr and take out the dings. The interior is original and has seat covers , there are pics of the seats with the covers off. The valve cover gasket is leaking just a bit, not enough to have to add oil, but a minor fix. The crank for the sunroof is broken, the sunroof does work. I took lots of pictures and have many more I can send. I am happy to help with shipping the car. Will make myself available to help load or deliver the car to a nearby port. The usual will apply, will not release the car until the funds have cleared my bank. The car is sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied. I am in Fort Lauderdale Florida and local inspection is welcome. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the car has a for sale sign on it here at my home. The car is listed to sell, the reserve is thousands below what I hope to get for the car, so bid with the intention to buy the car please. Philip 954-234-5770 happy to answer any other question. Text is best, or please leave a message and I will return the call when my work day is over.

Mazda Miata 'fathers' Hall and Case offer a tour through the roadster's history

Wed, 10 Sep 2014

The original Mazda Miata broke onto the automotive scene in 1989 and was a huge success. However, the convertible's genesis goes all the way back to the early '80s. Bob Hall and Dean Case were among the inside men of the program on the US side, and they were on hand at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca during the recent MX-5 event there to tell some of their stories about the project's beginning.
Hall was on the Miata project from very early on, and one of his most fascinating stories is how the convertible got its shape. The droptop wasn't necessarily going to be a rear-wheel drive roadster. There were both front-wheel-drive coupe and mid-engine concepts being considered. In fact, the classic look of the NA generation was the least favorite of the three at the sketch stage.
Hall comes off as a jokester hiding a genius mind. He has a fountain of information in his head about what a Miata should be, but it all comes down to "less is more." However, he admits that it's easy to conceive that idea, but it's much harder to actually execute it well.

The 2017 Tokyo Motor Show has been a big and busy one. It's also had machinery ranging from beautiful to bizarre. But there's been something for everyone. Companies such as Honda and Subaru brought performance oriented vehicles, Toyota showcased a wide array of funky and practical concepts, and Yamaha even broke away from motorcycles to do another car concept. You can check all of these vehicles out, and more in the galleries below. 2018 Honda Gold Wing: View 5 Photos Honda Neo Sports Cafe Concept: View 5 Photos Honda Riding Assist-e Concept: View 7 Photos Honda Sports EV Concept: View 5 Photos Honda Super Cub: View 3 Photos Isuzu FD-SI and Elf EV: View 9 Photos Lexus LS+ Concept: View 18 Photos Mazda Kai Concept: View 18 Photos Mazda Vision Coupe Concept: View 15 Photos Mitsubishi e-Evolution Concept: View 8 Photos Nissan IMx Concept: View 29 Photos Nissan Leaf Nismo Concept: View 8 Photos Subaru Viziv Performance Concept: View 12 Photos Toyota Century and Crown: View 7 Photos Toyota Concept-i Series: View 16 Photos Toyota GR HV SPORTS Concept: View 6 Photos Toyota Tj Cruiser: View 12 Photos Yamaha Concepts (Cross Hub, MOTOROiD, MWC-4, Motobot): View 5 Photos Related Video: Tokyo Motor Show Honda Isuzu Lexus Mazda Mitsubishi Nissan Subaru Toyota

Mazda Hazumi Concept shows up ahead of Geneva

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

Last week, Mazda officially teased its Geneva-bound Hazumi concept, showing little more than an aggressive headlamp design. But now, thanks to the magic of the Internet, another rendering of the Hazumi has appeared on the web, and, well, it's totes adorbs.
In Mazda's original release from last week, we were told that the name "Hazumi" means "spring up" or "bound" in Japanese, and is "particularly well-suited to a small car that appears to be bursting with energy." And now that we're getting a nearly full glimpse of the thing, we absolutely have to agree. The company's Kodo design language offers aggressive style in a cute little shape, and the usual raft of concept car-spec treatments (no mirrors, huge wheels, etc.) make it look even more comical and delightful.
Indeed, the Hazumi is understood to preview the next Mazda2 subcompact, and if this concept car points the way forward for Mazda's tiniest hatch, consider us totally geeked. Mazda is also set to debut its new 1.5-liter Skyactiv-D diesel engine at the Geneva Motor Show next week, and while the company hasn't confirmed if that powerplant will make its way into the next Mazda2, it sure makes sense, at least overseas. Stay tuned.
