The Eaton M45 Supercharger puts out 7PSI of boost that puts your head back in the seat when you stomp the throttle. Superchargers create a lot of heat on the engine so as a reliability factor after 3500 RPM the Eaton Alcohol Injection kit turns on and cools the intake charge coming into the engine creating less heat and more power. With all this power you need tight handling and brakes that can stop. That where AGX comes in the great street drivability Coilovers with dampening adjustment. With it ranging from settings 1 to 8 you can keep it on one for comfortability and 8 for all out performance. For stopping power the larger brakes off of a 2002 Miata bring it to a stop quickly. This car is a major head turner especially when you hear the whine of the Supercharger. Horsepower and Torque are 180HP and 150FT IBS. Its a dry power to weight ratio of 11 to 1. Thats extremely quick and will smoke just about anything on the road. The wiring job has been done very nicely with all soldered and heat shrink connections making it a very reliable, sound car. This is a rare setup because the M45 is no longer in production, but parts are not difficult to get which makes this a sought after vehicle.   photo DSC_0100_zps907d4d4f.jpg photo DSC_0097_zps66737553.jpg photo DSC_0095_zpsd29d825d.jpg photo DSC_0092_zps7b0ca52e.jpg photo DSC_0126_zpsba396006.jpg photo DSC_0125_zps2d62f865.jpg photo DSC_0114_zps6bba96e8.jpg photo DSC_0111_zps0247729a.jpg photo DSC_0107_zps4b05a3cf.jpg photo DSC_0104_zps5d0eb549.jpg photo DSC_0121_zpsb24bf936.jpg photo DSC_0120_zpsf3a3c67d.jpg photo DSC_0119_zps1acac23e.jpg photo DSC_0118_zpsc9b28a3a.jpg photo DSC_0116_zps6734b32c.jpg photo DSC_0123_zpsf815f04c.jpg photo DSC_0115_zps581da9be.jpg photo DSC_0129_zps1058b8dd.jpg photo DSC_0130_zpsd1638d6e.jpg photo DSC_0131_zps9a7b5cfe.jpg photo DSC_0132_zps7dd5f8f7.jpg photo DSC_0133_zps379c5752.jpg photo DSC_0135_zps1470525f.jpg

Next-gen Mazda MX-5 Miata mule spied 'Ring testing

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

Fans of simple, lightweight motoring, rejoice - we now have images of the next-generation Mazda MX-5 Miata undergoing testing at der Nürburgring Nordschleife. Now, to be fair, this isn't some lightly camouflaged example that will give us a great peak of what the next Miata, which will also become the next Alfa Romeo Spider, will look like. This is a mule, with the new bits hidden under a current Miata's body. That doesn't mean there aren't a few scraps of valuable information here, though.
According to our flock of camera-toting spies at the Nürburgring, the next Miata is likely to grow a bit, as new models are wont to do. In particular, it will be longer and wider, and the wheelbase is likely going to be stretched, based on the shape of the wheel wells and doors. Both of those factors will add more space in the cabin.
Those are the big indications provided by these photos, but while the MX-5 might be growing, it's a safe bet based on these images that it, and the (likely pricier) Alfa, will retain the classic, long-hood, short-deck styling that so typifies rear-drive roadsters.

Mazda shows lightweight MX-5 Spyder and Speedster at SEMA

Tue, Nov 3 2015

Ever since Mazda dropped the first teaser on us last week, we've been looking forward to seeing what it had in store for us at SEMA this year. Now we've seen it what Mazda has dubbed the MX-5 Spyder and MX-5 Speedster, and they were worth the wait. The Spyder goes vintage with a silver paintjob and a brown top stretched overhead. It also has an aero kit, grille, and tonneau cover done up in carbon fiber, rides on 17-inch wheels, and features a natural leather interior. The blue Speedster, meanwhile, goes for the stripped-down, wind-in-your-hair experience. It has no roof or windshield, just a tiny deflector at the front of the dashboard. It's dropped an inch closer to the ground on an adjustable coilover suspension with 16-inch alloys, and features a center-exit exhaust. Carbon fiber helps trim 250 pounds from the curb weight, along with a stripped out interior trimmed in Alcantara. Both look pretty slick, and disappoint only in so far as they (like so many of their predecessor concepts) won't be heading for production. If they were, we'd be hard pressed to choose between the two. Which would you go for? Mazda Reveals Extreme Lightweight Design Concepts at 2015 SEMA MX-5 Concepts Display Two Different Takes on Staying True to Pure, Lightweight Sports Car Philosophy LAS VEGAS (November 3, 2015) – Mazda revealed two design concepts today at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, based on its all-new 2016 MX-5 Miata—MX-5 Spyder and MX-5 Speedster—demonstrating two vastly different takes on lightweight, open-air performance. Lightweight. Fun-to-drive. Roadster. Those three tenets have served as the foundation for the Mazda MX-5 Miata since its 1989 introduction and continue to serve the new fourth-generation model. Focused, lightweight engineering is a guiding principle of every Mazda vehicle made with SKYACTIV Technology, allowing for greater efficiency, improved performance and agile handling dynamics. But what if that sense of lightweight performance were taken to the extreme? What if Mazda's North American designers harkened back to vintage roadsters to create thoroughly modern, bespoke concepts for what a lightweight performance car should be The results would be the MX-5 Spyder and MX-5 Speedster concepts. "Both MX-5 Spyder and MX-5 Speedster are uncompromising designs that highlight the core strengths of MX-5," said Ken Saward, design manager, Mazda North American Operations.

2014 Mazda CX-5 with 2.5-liter Skyactiv engine

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

Back in October, we compared the relative merits of two new and very good small crossovers: the 2013 Ford Escape and 2013 Mazda CX-5. The CX-5 we tested then had Mazda's 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine under its hood, and it managed to just edge out the EcoBoosted Ford despite being down by some 23 horsepower and 34 pound-feet of torque. Had it been available, the 2.5-liter Skyactiv engine that we recently had the opportunity to try out in the 2014 Mazda CX-5, it may have made that comparison even easier to call in the Japanese CUV's favor.
Clearly, if you're in the market for a reasonably sized crossover, the CX-5 should, at the very least, be on your test-drive list. The new engine offering will let buyers opt for a stronger powerplant, with 184 hp and 185 lb-ft on tap. On our second day in Austin's Hill Country - the first was spent quick-spinning the 2014 Mazda6 i Sport, you'll recall - we covered a couple of hundred miles and put the new CX-5 through its paces; here's what we turned up.
