Wow! Here's a stunning 1-owner local trade-in. This rear wheel drive Miata is compact and sporty. It's in great condition! Under the hood you'll find a powerful, yet economical 2.0 Liter 4 cylinder engine, with manual transmission! Inside is an orange and black color scheme with matching leather seating! Power windows, power locks, power mirrors, manual seat adjust, 12-volt power outlet, leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, steering wheel controls for added safety and convenience, tilt steering wheel adjust, AM/FM strereo with CD player, air conditioning, rear window defogger, Bose audio system, remote keyless entry, power trunk release, soft convertible top, side impact air bags!

This car has 4 Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position tires. Wear is even on all 4, with what appears to be 85-90% tread life remaining. No cupping or unusual wear. We replaced the air filter on the car, as well as the rear sway bar links. I find no service records in the car from the previous owner, but the dealer it was purchased brand new from in Kansas likely did the maintenance and would have the records available. I did find the factory window sticker in the glove box, which shows some very impressive additional features!

Suspension package with bilstein shocks, dynamic stability control, sport tuned suspension, and Limited Slip Differential. Also the Premium package #2, which contains Xenon HID headlamps, traction control, anti theft alarm, and advanced keyless entry. The car had an MSRP of $27,253, and was clearly very well cared for.

'Ringbanana' Miata is improbable 9-minute Nurburgring car

Wed, Aug 12 2015

The combination of being inexpensive, capable, reliable, and friendly to all skill levels makes the Mazda Miata one of the world's most popular platforms for motorsports, but the roadsters aren't exactly rocketships. What would it take to lap a ratty, first-gen example around the Nurburgring Nordschleife in less than nine minutes? We're not exactly sure, but the Ringbanana team intends to discover the answer. The project is the type of thing that gets dreamed up after a few too many pilsners: buy the cheapest running Miata available and put as little money necessary into the roadster to make it capable around the 'Ring. As the Best-Motoring-inspired intro explains, the Mazda is largely stock other than some Fulda performance tires, possibly aftermarket springs, and a stripped interior. The video above shows the baseline test, and the convertible manages a 9:21.8 circuit, which doesn't seem too bad as a start. The video below goes into far more detail about the project's genesis and its goal. Plus, the two hosts are quite entertaining when replying to the comments from the original clip. We wish them the best of luck and look forward to following along on Facebook to see what it takes to get the Ringbanana below nine minutes. This content is hosted by a third party. Mazda de Mexico celebrates 100,000th car built

Sun, Dec 28 2014

Automakers and their factories celebrate production milestones all the time. Some are interesting enough to report on and some aren't, but what makes this one stand out is that the plant opened less than a year ago. Just 11 months since production began, Mazda de Mexico Vehicle Operation has put together its 100,000th vehicle – in this case a Mazda2 hatchback headed for Europe. MMVO is one of three plants assembling the company's smallest model, also known as the Demio in Japan, where it is also produced, with additional assembly taking place in Thailand under a joint venture with Ford. The Mexican location also handles assembly of the Mazda3 for the Americas and for Europe. Mazda has announced that it is expanding production at MMVO by 150 percent of this year's capacity to 250,000 units per year by March 2016 as it takes on contract manufacturing for Toyota as well.

Mazda6 Skyactiv-D racecar gets first win at Road Atlanta

Tue, 23 Apr 2013

Mazda has a long motorsports history, and one that is peppered with fascinating cars. The latest chapter in Mazda's racing story has just been written, as Joel Miller and Andrew Carbonell have driven the Visit Florida Racing Mazda6 Skyactiv-D to the car's first ever victory at the Rolex Grand-Am GX race at Road Atlanta. The win marks the first ever for Mazda's diesel-burning, production-car based Skyactiv-D racer, and the first win for a diesel-powered car in a Grand-Am event.
In fact, it was a particularly good day for the Mazda Motorsports team, as a Mazda6 also picked up the third finishing spot at Road Atlanta. Director of Mazda Motorsports, John M. Doonan, said of the racecar, "We've always said that the best street cars make the best racecars, and, with more than half of the components in the race engine being shared with the street engine, this program is a solid proof-point."
SpeedSource Engineering, which helped to build the Mazda6 racer, was greatly heartened by the car's performance in just it's fourth-ever race. Owner Sylvain Tremblay called the victory, "a tribute to the thousands of hours of hard work over many months," continuing, "The normal plan with a new car is to spend the first year in development, the second year seeking race wins, and challenging for a championship in year three. We are already at our year-two status after four races. We can't wait to get to the Belle Isle course in Detroit for round five."
