2005 Mazda Miata Mx-5 Mazdaspeed Grand Touring Edition Black Mica 8,900 Miles on 2040-cars
Terre Haute, Indiana, United States
Rare opportunity 2005 Mazdaspeed Miata Factory turbocharged. This model was made only in 2004 and 2005 roughly 1428 only made in 2005 before factory burned down which limited 2005 production.
Black Mica paint only made in 2005. This is the Grand Touring model every option. Cloth top, leather seats with red stitching, Bose stereo. The Mazdapeed Miata was very special, approximately 40hp more than a regular miata, 6-speed, special heavy duty drivetrain, special bilstein shocks, springs etc. Racing Hart 17 inch wheels. 6 speed manual transmission. I have owned this car for 5 years I bought it with 2,700 miles on it, now it has 8,952 miles, most of the miles are highway miles. Surely one of the lowest mileage cars and collector quality condition. This car is bone stock, no mods ever which is very rare for these cars. It has never been tracked, raced, or auto-crossed. Mazda engineered these cars to last but everyone wants to boost their performance. This car has been babied by both owners. Always garaged, no winters ever. This car is in excellent condition no dents scratches, no paint work ever other than minor chip repairs, VIN stickers on every body panel. Properly maintained, no issues. I have the window sticker, both (2) remotes/keys, brochures, owners manuals, original unused floor mats and top boot. The unused space saver spare tire, jack and tire lug wrench are in the trunk. Payment by winning bidder within 7 days by bank wire transfer only, no cash in person I reserve the right to end the auction early as car is for sell locally. Shipping to be at buyers expense local pickup welcomed. The Bose stereo has a special (aux/mod) i-pod mini stereo plug for your various personal music devices. I just ran a clean 2 owner car fax on this vehicle which I will be happy to provide. Please do not contact me asking for my bottom dollar price, look at the starting auction price, this car is worth the money to a collector like myself. call with questions: 8onetwo 2fourzero97six6 Also, this is last year of the NB series Miata it has a larger trunk capacity but still has a spare tire/jack/tools so you can change a flat and get home when you are out touring. The 2006 and newer miatas have no spare. You can easily fit 2 roll airline type suitcases in the roomy trunk and more for a weekend trip. Thanks for looking, happy bidding. |

Mazda MX-5 breeds upgraded Roadster RS in Japan
Mon, Oct 5 2015Fans of the new Mazda MX-5 Miata looking for something a little more performance-focused may be enticed by the new RS model. Unfortunately they'll have to go all the way to Japan to get it. Because Mazda will only be offering this particular version back home. The new RS version of the Mazda Roadster (as it's known in Japan) features a number of performance upgrades, although none of them specifically affect the engine or its output. The Roadster RS features Bilstein dampers and front suspension tower brace for better handling, along with bigger brakes for added stopping power, a retuned steering rack for sharper turn-in, and upgraded exhaust for a better sound. Inside it's also been treated to heated Recaro seats with Nappa leather and Alcantara trim and a nine-speaker Bose audio system. It also comes equipped with adaptive front lighting and high-beam control as well as lane-departure and blind-spot warning systems. Feeling left out yet? Don't be too disappointed, or book that ticket to Tokyo's Natita International Airport just yet. The Mazda Roadster RS only comes with the smaller 1.5-liter engine that produces 129 horsepower, which is significantly less than the 2.0L we get here at 155 hp. It does, however, come with the six-speed manual instead of the automatic. So while this may not be the most powerful version of the Miata, it may be the enthusiast favorite – at least in the JDM. Mazda names new North American chief
Tue, Dec 22 2015Mazda has announced today the appointment of a new president and CEO of its North American operations. Jim O'Sullivan, who has been running the office for 13 years, is now leaving the company. In his place the head office has appointed veteran manager Masahiro Moro, and as you can see, he could not be more thrilled with the appointment. A 55-year-old native of Kyoto, Moro has been with Mazda since 1983. One of the company's managing executive officers, Moro currently heads up its global sales and marketing division. He also previously served as vice president of marketing and of product planning for Mazda Motor Europe, and as director of the company's Australian operations. He'll now be relocating with his wife and family to Southern California to take over the North American division based out of Irvine, effective January 1. His predecessor Jim O'Sullivan has held the office since 2003, also ranked as one of the Japanese automaker's managing executive officers. The Detroit native previously worked at Ford, where he started his career in 1976. "I have been very lucky that the car business has afforded me so many incredible experiences, and taught me so much. However, now is the right time for me to retire from Mazda," said the 40-year industry veteran of his departure from the company in the statement below. "I don't know how the next chapter in my life will read, but it's time for me to spend time with my wonderful wife, my children and my grandchildren. I've travelled the world for nearly 40 years, who knows what the future holds?"
