1996 Mazda Miata Mx5 Edition Convertible! Low Miles! Bank Says Sell To Last Bid! on 2040-cars
Spokane, Washington, United States
REPO TIME AGAIN!!! BANK SAYS SELL THIS 1996 MAZDA MIATA MX5 WITH VERY LOW MILES. THIS CAR IS CLEAN INSIDE AND OUT!!! 5 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION, FULL LEATHER, SPEAKERS IN SEATS, AM/FM/CD PLAYER, 1.8L 16 VALVE ENGINE. ONLY 110,000 MILES ON THIS CAR, THERE IS A SMALL 1 INCH TEAR IN DRIVERS SEAT, RAG TOP IS IN GOOD CONDITION, TIRES DO HAVE SOME LIFE IN THEM STILL AT 65% TREAD, The 1996 Miata M-Edition was all about style. So the car comes with Starlight Blue Mica Paint, a tan leather interior, special stitching, and unique Enkei wheels. A point on the wheels: Other than the steel wheels of the base model, these are the heaviest ever fitted to a Miata. And look at that body roll! You forget how a stock one handles. It's ridiculous. The M Edition series was developed by Mazda USA’s marketing department in 1994. It was produced for those interested in a special Miata only available in limited production numbers made during the regular production run for a limited time. It was an attempt by Mazda to standardize a higher level of build, exclusivity and upscale content. The series consisted mostly in the application of exclusive special paint colors, luxury interior features, special wheels and M Edition badges/logos throughout the interior and exterior of each car. The M Edition series (as produced by Mazda from the factory) does not offer any engine or suspension performance enhancements over the regular series MX-5 Miata nor were they sequentially numbered. Their VIN numbers are scattered throughout the regular run Miatas. The Mazda Miata M Edition series of vehicles are very desirable and sought after by Miata enthusiasts. Searching for a low mileage clean M Edition and finding one is to may like finding the ultimate Miata. Fairly expensive when first introduced, they can now be found priced as a regular used car, particularly if the seller has no idea what an M Edition is. Further, the well known used car resale value guides seem to somewhat under value what Miatas are actually trading hands for. Most clean Miatas will usually sell over blue book value, that’s not to say you can’t find one at a bargain price though. M Editions are not sequentially numbered and their VIN numbers will be scattered throughout the regular run for each year. A total of 12,470 M Editions were manufactured throughout the 4 year run. The colors and features will make any M Edition stand out at a gathering of Miatas and the clean low mileage ones are harder and harder to find. The ’96 M is the first in the series to offer M Edition script on the tachometer and rear back of seats. New black faced MSSS stereo offered with side door tweeters. This is the only Miata ever offered with a factory installed (actually port installed) alarm/remote system. The ’96 M had the most expensive sticker price of any NA Miata. The lower body sills are body color painted from the factory. WE ARE SELLING FOR THE BANK TO THE LAST AND HIGHEST BIDDER. WE ARE A LICENSED AND BONDED DEALER IN THE STATE OF WASHINGTON. Mazda has no plans for an RX-9, despite ongoing rotary development
Wed, Dec 7 2016We know Mazda is capable of making wonderful cars in any form or bodystyle. It also likes to tease enthusiasts with promising concepts like the stunning RX-Vision. In news that's sure to raise the ire of enthusiasts around the world, it seems the automaker has no plans to follow through with a production version of that beautiful, Soul Red coupe. In fact, it doesn't look like Mazda is interested in building any sports car that would slot above the Miata. In an interview with Automotive News, Mazda CEO Masamichi Kogai responded with a simple "No" when asked if Mazda has plans for a larger sports car entry. Kogai was asked if Mazda has any plans for a production rotary. He said that the 1.5- and 2.0-liter engines in the Miata are more exhilarating. That's a debatable and subjective argument that thousands of rotary owners both past and present would likely disagree with. It's more likely that despite ongoing development of the Wankel, Mazda is still struggling to meet emissions standards. Despite the advantages of a rotary (high power-to-weight ratio, compact size, rev-happy nature), it's not very fuel efficient and struggles with emissions testing. Also, despite the prestige and attention a halo sports coupe could potentially bring, Mazda is a small, independent automaker that needs to focus on mass appeal. Creating an all-new design with a unique engine isn't cheap. Badging a non-rotary car as an RX would be sacrilege, so don't expect an RX anything anytime in the near future. Current RX owners should take a moment to lament. Their car probably needs another quart of oil anyway. Related Video:
Mazda3 versus BMW 1 Series and Audi A3 in Euro diesel showdown
Sun, Dec 21 2014It's not exactly a Tesla Model S taking on a Ferrari, but for us green enthusiasts, a drag race and comparison between reasonably priced diesel hatchbacks does hold interest, and UK's Auto Express was kind enough to do the deed. When raced, the diesels actually laid a little rubber coming off the line, though the track was covered in rain. Did we mention it was in the UK? The comparison was between diesel hatchbacks priced at less than 22,000 British pounds (about $34,500 US), and Auto Express pitted a Mazda3, a BMW 1-Series and an Audi A3 against each other. The results are revealed in the 11-minute video you can watch below. In short, one car smoked the others. In order to set the tone, you should know that the Mazda's 150 horsepower is about 35 more than the other two entrants. The Mazda also earned points for its quiet motor (it sounds more like a petrol engine, the host says), standard equipment that would add about $4,000 to the other two cars if included and relative roominess in front and in back. The Audi gained points for its storage space, while the BMW had the only rear-wheel-drive car in the hunt. See for yourself how the competition stacks up. Patent application suggests Mazda rotary return
Mon, Apr 4 2016A recent patent application by Mazda reveals that the Japanese automaker is still working on the rotary engine. This could in fact be the Skyactiv-R engine found in the RX-Vision concept from the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. As with anything Wankel-related, nothing is certain until Mazda makes a production commitment. But this filing suggests that serious development is happening in Hiroshima. The 2011 Mazda RX-8 was the last rotary-powered car you could buy in America. Slow sales, poor fuel economy, and tighter emissions standards prevented Mazda from committing to a follow-up. But the fundamental principles of the rotary - compact size and light weight - perfectly fit Mazda's Skyactiv ethos. (For an explanation of how rotaries work, click here.) In this new engine the intake port sits at the bottom of the engine with the exhaust port on top instead of the other way around. That allows for lower mounting, which improves a car's center of gravity. This rotary is also turbocharged. Putting the turbo up high helps ensure it doesn't get in the way of any body or chassis crossmembers. The implication of those claims is that somebody is thinking about how to put this engine in a car. There are other benefits as well. The short path from the exhaust port to the turbo ensures minimal turbo lag. It also allows for a close-mounted catalyst on top of the enigne, which will help emissions. Another innovation in this new engine is a triangle-shaped rotor that covers part of the exhaust port. This allows for different exhaust flow characteristics. The filing claims that that two of the four orientations allow for less airflow resistance in the exhaust port. As in previous Mazda rotaries, there are two spark plugs to manage ignition timing and combustion. But unlike in the 16X concept, Mazda's last public display of such an engine, the new rotary uses port fuel injection. Keep in mind this is only a patent application. A Mazda spokesperson refused to comment on future product, but commented "As we stated at the Tokyo motor show, Mazda is doing all that it can to bring a rotary to the market." In the meantime, keep your RX-7 prayer candles lit and hope for the return of the rotary before the end of the decade. You can bide your time by reading the entire application here.
