This is a heavily customized 1996 Mazda Miata M Edition that was owned for over 10 years by Roadster Magazine writer Tsunekazu Kawana.

A long list of high-end custom work has been performed by a Miata specialty shop from 2003 to the present day.

This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

* A Fully Rebuilt Stage 1 Motor From RS Aizawa that was crated in from Japan.

* Custom Leather Seats with built in stereo speakers inside the headrests (see pictures).

* A new convertible top with full glass backing that eliminates the chronic scratching and zipper issues of factory Miata tops.

* Dozens of unique and rare JDM only add-ons. The gauge faces are Artworks Dewa (AWD) Version Blue Star. The instrument cluster and HVAC controls are KG Works (along with the oil cap which is exceptionally rare) and the vent rings are AWD diamond tooled ones. From the oil cap to the tow hooks, I would conservatively estimate the exterior and interior cosmetic and suspension modifications cost another $2500 to $3000.

This custom Miata M Edition comes with a Miata car cover and was driven an average 5,000 miles a.year. The air blows cold. The clutch is in perfect working order, and great care has been taken to keep this vehicle in excellent condition.

Defects are solely cosmetic and include the following:

* The hood is exhibiting blistering and paint peel on an area that is about two and a half inches in diameter (see pictures). The color of this vehicle is gorgeous in person. But I would repaint the hood with a top quality finish.

* There is a small dent on the drivers side fender. This should be evident in the pictures as well.

* There are other dings and scratches that I have done my best to photograph on the outside of the vehicle. None of them are easily pointed out in person, and I have taken great care to photograph the vehicle in entirety.

Farmer moves illegally parked car with tractor

Wed, May 4 2016

Bad parking in London can get you a ticket or the boot, but bad parking in the West Country is treated in a more direct manner. One motorist learned this fact in early May when a video published by The Daily Mail showing a farmer moving a car with his tractor went viral. Lianne Dunn and Ally Boxall were out for a drive near Marksbury when they came upon a strange sight. Coming at them down the narrow country lane was a tractor with a red Mazda6 perched on its front-end loader attachment. One of the women pulled out her cell phone and filmed the odd scene while the other backed into a convenient driveway to let the tractor past. As the tractor trundled by with its load, they asked the young man guiding the driver what was going on. "They parked in this chap's drive," he said in his broad, West Country burr. "He asked us to move the car, nobody claimed it." When asked where the pair were taking the car, the unnamed farmer replied, "We're going to put it up on the main road. It's the police's problem then." The two women, obviously entertained by the spectacle, exchange a few more words with the young farmer before they finally drive off. "This is the best!" one of the women says as on the video. "Never piss a farmer off!" Next-gen Mazda2 designed for 'predominantly feminine' appeal

Tue, 26 Nov 2013

We can't ever think of a time we've heard anyone accuse the current Mazda2 of being too edgy, which makes reports of a softer design for the next-gen model a little surprising. Autocar reports that when the new 2 debuts next fall, it will have a "softer, more feminine appeal" than the current design.
This description lends a little more credibility to the Japanese magazine image we saw of the car back in July. Aside from Mazda's Kodo-inspired signature face, that picture did reveal softer lines, especially along the side of the car. This softened styling is to appeal to the car's target market, which Mazda's European design chief is reported to have called a "predominantly feminine customer base." Last we heard, though, Mazda might keep the next 2 out of the US due to slow sales.
The 2015 Mazda2 will reportedly ride on a shortened version of the platform used for the CX-5, but Autocar mentions that its platform could also be the basis of a new subcompact crossover - possibly to go up against vehicles like the Buick Encore and the upcoming Honda Fit-based crossover called the Vezel.

Mazda struggles to meet demand on rising sales

Mon, 23 Sep 2013

For Mazda there's good and not-so-good news on the heels of strong US sales in 2012: demand is high - especially for the Mazda3, Mazda6 and CX-5 - but supply is low, TheDetroitBureau.com reports. That's partly because all Mazda production happens in Japan, since it ended its alliance with Ford and pulled out of a joint venture with the blue oval building cars in suburban Detroit last year.
In 2012, Mazda sales here jumped 26.4 percent, but 2013 sales through August have just been keeping pace with the overall US auto industry, increasing at a rate of 6.8 percent. Mazda North American Operations director of marketing and communications Jeremy Barnes says that sales have slowed because the company is facing challenges delivering products here.
