This Miata is in terrific condition for a car that is 20 years old with thousands of extras. I fell in love with it and bought it from a local Ford dealer that said the owner traded it in on a new Mustang Shelby! The had a carfax and it showed the car had not been wrecked and was well maintained. I rarely drive it but always get attention when I do. It it is a great car for local car shows, cruises, etc. I have replaced its oil and filter with synthetic, replaced the clutch master and slave and kept it clean and garaged while I have owned it.

This was someones baby and you can tell by its condition. For starters it has a multi CD player with pioneer high output speakers in the doors that compliment the speakers in the seat headrests for outstanding sound with the top up or down. It has aftermarket alloy wheels with Toyo Tires in great shape. The car has KYB AGX 8 way adjustable shocks/struts mounted on lower stance performance springs. The struts have dust boots and I think three of the 4 dust boots are torn, probably just from age they may have lifetime warranties but since I never intended in driving it in bad weather I never looked into it. It has a heavy duty front anti sway bar, and a frame stiffening bar mounted below the engine cradle. It has a black roll bar added for additional handling stiffness. The engine has a Greddy 16G aftermarket turbocharger with intercooler and a BR tuning computer in the glovebox. The unit has a conical low restriction air filter, additional oil vapor filter, custom "Racing Beat" exhaust system. The unit is tuned to 7psi boost and has had Auto Meter boost and Air/Fuel gauges mounted in place of the two internal air vents. The unit has a rear mounted battery to improve handling, an aftermarket short throw shifter. Of course it is very powerful and sounds great. This is a super sleeper and if you wanted to turn the boost up you could embarrass many other "hot rodders" No rust on the car, and the top is in great shape. The car needs nothing. Based on its condition, I assume the only time the car had not been in a garage was the time it was on the lot when the original owner traded it in. Whoever owned it before me took care of it and I am the same with my toys. It has been garaged as long as I have owned it except for a time I took it to a body shop to get some scratches fixed. Most of the paint seems original and except for some minor fading on the rubber bumper and mirrors the paint is terrific. I considered having the bumper cleared over, but  I am just to picky to take a chance at it so I have opted just to use cleaner wax to keep oxidation off the front and keep the color bright. The body is almost totally perfect except for a couple of minor dings that I have lived with since they are visible only when pointed out. There are plenty of other minor extras from the polished shifter know to the chrome pedal trim kit, to the sound deadening mat in the trunk. I am sure there is plenty I have forgotten to mention! I have it for sale locally and may end the auction at any time.

I love this car but have to sell it with wayyyyy too many cars and motorcycles.

Cars we're thankful we drove in 2019

Thu, Nov 28 2019

We drove a lot of cars in 2019, and there's still a month to go. We drove them in our home office in Michigan, at our remote offices in Seattle, Portland, Ore., and Columbus, Ohio, and throughout the globe on myriad press launches. We could count them, but hey, that seems boastful.  Instead, we want to be thankful. Not only for the opportunity to do this wonderful task some might describe as a "job," but for the new, shiny cars that brighten our days (and most hopefully yours). We asked our fellow editors which car they were most thankful to drive in 2019 ... here are our answers. 2019 Hyundai Veloster N Performance Senior Editor Alex Kierstein Every once in a while a car comes along that changes the narrative on a company or its segment, and everyone scrambles to experience it for themselves. This year, for me, that car’s the Veloster N Performance, perhaps the most transformative car the companyÂ’s ever built. Everyone whoÂ’s driven it, here and elsewhere, says it captures all those intangibles that make great driving hatchbacks great. And IÂ’m thankful that I got a go in it before all of them left the fleet, because it does. It upends the segment long dominated by the GTI, a car that nails its brief. The N is rowdy and loud, sure, but it also has some of the most deftly tuned suspension IÂ’ve come across in a front driver. My advice: if youÂ’re in the market for something fun and unique, go test drive a Veloster N. I think youÂ’ll be thankful you did. 2019 Hyundai Veloster N View 47 Photos 2019 Audi E-Tron Senior Editor, Green, John Beltz Snyder IÂ’m pleased that I got to drive the Audi E-Tron. ThatÂ’s high praise for a year in which I also drove the stellar Jaguar I-Pace. The E-Tron, while not as sporty as the Jaguar, is excellently executed, and feels like a more refined, polished offering. ItÂ’s quick, whisper-quiet, comfortable, stylish inside and out, and incredibly sturdy. Some may lament that it doesnÂ’t do much to stand out from ICE vehicles, but I donÂ’t think it needs to. What it does need to do is win over the electro-skeptical, and I think Audi put its best foot forward with a crossover that can do just that, and more. So, yeah, not only am I thankful that I got to drive it, IÂ’m glad that itÂ’s compelling enough that itÂ’ll hopefully make potential customers feel the same. 2020 Audi E-Tron View 13 Photos 2013 Peugeot 508 West Coast Editor James Riswick My choice totally sucks.

Mazda's Hofu plant builds its ten-millionth car

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

Ten million is a lot no matter which way you cut it, and no matter what you're talking about: Ten million dollars, ten million miles, ten million people... certainly ten million cars. And that's the milestone that Mazda's Hofu plant in Yamaguchi prefecture of Japan has just achieved.
The Hofu facility has been in operation since 1982, and was supplemented with a second plant on the same site ten years later. Hofu reached a million units built in 1986 and five million in 2002. But with production now at 482,100 units per year, it took less than twelve years to double that previous milestone.
The magic ten-millionth car was a new Mazda6 (known locally as the Atenza), which is built at Hofu Plant No. 2, while Hofu Plant No. 1 gears up for the new Mazda3 (aka Axela). Scroll down below for a related press release.

Ever wonder how to really pronounce Japanese automaker names?

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

People tend to get very set in their ways when it comes to the pronunciation of words. Just look at the endless debates over whether or not to say the final 'e' in Porsche (which you should in terms of correct German enunciation). Or the argument about whether to follow the British convention and give the 'u' in Jaguar a special delivery or to say the 'ua' diphthong as more of a 'w' sound, as usually happens in the US.
This short video doesn't answer either of those automotive questions, but it does allow a native Japanese speaker to demonstrate the accepted pronunciations for several, major automakers from the country. One benefit is that it clears up the occasional debate over whether Nissan should be said with a long or short 'i' sound. Also, listen closely to how the female host says Mazda as Matsuda, the way it's actually said in the language. Even if this doesn't change the way you enunciate these brands, at least now you know the accurate way in Japanese.
