1993 Mazda Miata Mx-5 Le on 2040-cars

Year:1993 Mileage:999999

Fayetteville, Georgia, United States

This is a nice little fun car to drive. I am currently driving it daily. I have placed about 2,000 miles on it so far.  The car is in fair condition, it is 20 years old and has signs of wear. The AC and heating work fine. I use the AC daily now that is getting hot. The power windows work, the motors are showing some sign of wear in that the windows seem to go up slower than normal. Both power mirrors work properly. The passenger door lock sticks sometimes. The car is missing the battery tie down assembly and the spare tire tie down assembly. The headlight motors work properly. The Windshield wiper motor works and the windshield washer fluid dispenser works properly. The convertible top works properly and does not leak. The radio is a radio/CD combo with remote. The CD eject function does not work well. The remote does work. The car was given to me because it was not running. I put in a used transmission and have been using it daily. The only reason I am selling it is because I recently bought another convertible off EBAY (got a great deal) and this car does not need to be just sitting in the garage. I have priced out the parts that are needed and they are not that expensive. This car is available for local pickup only.  This car is being sold "As Is"  with no warranty implied. In addition to final bid price I will be adding $100 processing fee. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due immediately upon auction close or I reserve the right to cancel your bid.  Successful bidder is to contact me within 24 hours to arrange delivery of vehicle. Vehicle is to be picked up within 7 days or your bid will be cancelled.  If you are not prepared to complete purchase under my terms as outlined then do not bid.

2014 Mazda3 officially rated at 30/41 mpg, priced from $16,945*

Wed, 24 Jul 2013

It's hard not to be smitten with the 2014 Mazda3; after all, just look at it. But beyond its slick lines, we found the new compact hatch to be a pretty remarkable steer, offering up good levels of comfort and refinement, not to mention functionality and engagement. Now, there's more reason to like the 2014 Mazda3, as we've just learned that the car will officially be rated at 30 miles per gallon city and 41 mpg highway.
That 30/41 rating is for the Mazda3 sedan fitted with the 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G inline four-cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. Opting for the manual transmission retains the 41-mpg highway number, but drops the city digits to 29. Hatchback models with the 2.0-liter engine achieve 29/40 mpg with the manual 'box and 30/40 with the automatic.
Mazda also offers a larger 2.5-liter inline-four in the 3, and while a six-speed automatic will be the only transmission available with this engine at launch, the automaker has confirmed that a manual is coming shortly. With the 6AT and 2.5, the Mazda3 sedan is rated at 28/39 mpg, or 29/40 with the company's i-Eloop regenerative braking system. Hatchback models shrink those numbers to 28/37 and 29/39 mpg, with and without i-Eloop, respectively.

Graffiti artist Banksy turns Mazda Protege into warfare commentary

Wed, 16 Oct 2013

British street artist Banksy, who currently resides in New York City for its high pedestrian traffic and plentiful hiding spots, recently took his stencils and spray cans to a truck trailer and an old Mazda to make a commentary about war, according to a video report by Newsy.
Part of the canvas, a late-1990s Mazda Protege, is a sub-$3,000 used car at best, but we're sure having Banksy's art sprayed onto it has greatly increased its value, as it did to a piece at a Former Packard plant in Detroit a few years ago. The same goes for the trailer, which looks like it would be right at home attached to a U-Haul rental truck.
The graffito, painted in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, was accompanied by a link to some disturbing audio from a controversial 2007 military video leaked by Wikileaks in 2010. Head on below to watch the video report, and be sure to visit Banksy's website if you want to see the painting with the audio (listener discretion advised).

Mazda's first profit in five years in sight due to weak yen

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

Automotive News reports Mazda is set to turn a profit for the first time in five years. The automaker is more dependent on exports from Japan than other automakers based in that country, and as a result, it has long suffered at the hands of a strong yen. But the currency has declined in value by some 16 percent over the past six months and Mazda's shares have tripled in value to their highest level since 2008. Contrast this situation to a year ago when Mazda printed 1.22 billion new shares to raise cash. The move was equivalent to 70 percent of the company's then-outstanding stock, and values tumbled to record lows as a result.
Now that the yen has fallen to a value of around 96 per dollar, Mazda operations in the US are more profitable and the company now projects it will earn around $279 million for the next fiscal year. Automotive News says a one yen change against the dollar can have a 9.1 percent impact on Mazda operating profit compared to 4.7 percent at Subaru parent Fuji Heavy Industries or 3.1 percent at Toyota. Those automakers better insulate themselves from currency fluctuations with overseas manufacturing facilities.
