Great Vehicle, we have owned it for approximately 11.5 years. It has been driven minimally (Less than 8,000 miles a year), serviced regularly. It runs great and looks pretty good. The air condition runs great and the vehicle has given us very little trouble. Would make a great dependable car for someone the same as it has been for us. I am only selling it because we have outgrown it and I needed a larger vehicle for work purposes.
- The light control (that connects to the steering column) has something wrong with it. You have to play with it to make sure the lights are on and not on high beam. It does not click. It has never been a major issue because I drive it mainly to work and back and seldom at night.
- After I had tires rotated the tire center did not tighten on of the hubcaps and it is now missing.
- The clear coat on the panel above the doors has worn off. I have sprayed clear coat myself to help the look. A bodyshop man said he could do it professionally for $300.00 but I was content with the clear coat job that I had done.
- The rear bumper is loose (it does not drag or anything, you can just feel it loose). A car repair person said it just takes 2 or 3 clips that can be inserted easily, but it has never been an issue. It was ripped in a automated car wash (see picture).
- The rear driver side door does not unlock with the automatic locks. It locks with the automatic locks, just not unlock. You have to reach in and unlock it by hand. It makes a buzz sound when you click the locks. Again, it has never been a major issue.
- When it is very cold, the reverse is slow to engage (about 1 second). It only happens in reverse and has been that way for over 2 years. A mechanic said it was most likely a seal? It only happens when it is very cold and only early in the morning and only in reverse, never any other time or gears.
- We had the side and rear windows tinted. The rear window tint is pealing up approximately a half inch near the rear window brake light.

Lexus, Mazda and Subaru top Consumer Reports Brand Report Cards
Tue, 26 Feb 2013A revised methodology in devising its annual Car Brand Report Cards has seen Consumer Reports award Lexus its top overall ranking for 2013. For the first time ever, the institute broke out individual brands from their larger corporate umbrellas, meaning car makers like Lexus and Scion were judged independently from parent company Toyota. That strategy worked out well for Lexus, as the luxury brand earned a top report card score of 79 for the 2013 model year.
The institute has recommended every one of the Lexus models it has tested to date, and said that the company's products won out thanks to "a foundation of plush and very reliable vehicles."
Meanwhile, Mazda and Subaru tied for the second-highest scoring report cars, with scores of 76. Subaru earned praised for sporting models like the BRZ, which CR testers apparently had a lot of fun driving (naturally), while the Mazda products were lauded for their blend of practicality, sportiness and efficiency. Both of the Japanese brands offered good handling, fuel economy and versatility, said Consumer Reports.
NHTSA urges owners of recalled Takata airbag vehicles to take immediate action
Mon, 20 Oct 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Department of Transportation are taking the unusual step of issuing a followup press release urging owners of certain recalled vehicles "to act immediately" to fix their cars and trucks. The problem in question concerns the repair campaigns for rupturing Takata airbag inflators issued in June and covers a long list of models from Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Acura, Mazda, BMW, Nissan, Infiniti, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Oldsmobile and Pontiac.
While NHSTA doesn't specifically say why the recall is vital in the new release, Toyota's own explanation in its newly announced renotification campaign earlier today sheds some new light on the topic. According to the Japanese automaker, in testing, Takata found a possible link between the rupturing airbag inflators and high humidity. NHTSA is advocating that all owners pursue repairs immediately if they haven't already done so already. This is especially crucial for those drivers especially in Florida, Puerto Rico, Guam, Saipan, American Samoa, Virgin Islands and Hawaii because of the humid conditions there.
We don't need to tell you how dangerous an inadvertent airbag deployment could be - even in a stationary vehicle - but adding to the Takata issue is fears that the deployment could lead to shrapnel being sprayed into the cabin.
Mazda3 versus BMW 1 Series and Audi A3 in Euro diesel showdown
Sun, Dec 21 2014It's not exactly a Tesla Model S taking on a Ferrari, but for us green enthusiasts, a drag race and comparison between reasonably priced diesel hatchbacks does hold interest, and UK's Auto Express was kind enough to do the deed. When raced, the diesels actually laid a little rubber coming off the line, though the track was covered in rain. Did we mention it was in the UK? The comparison was between diesel hatchbacks priced at less than 22,000 British pounds (about $34,500 US), and Auto Express pitted a Mazda3, a BMW 1-Series and an Audi A3 against each other. The results are revealed in the 11-minute video you can watch below. In short, one car smoked the others. In order to set the tone, you should know that the Mazda's 150 horsepower is about 35 more than the other two entrants. The Mazda also earned points for its quiet motor (it sounds more like a petrol engine, the host says), standard equipment that would add about $4,000 to the other two cars if included and relative roominess in front and in back. The Audi gained points for its storage space, while the BMW had the only rear-wheel-drive car in the hunt. See for yourself how the competition stacks up.
