For sale is my 2002 Maserati Spyder convertible. only 25k miles, runs and drives as new. Clean CARFAX, non-smoker, all highway miles-my once a week fun commuter car. No accidents or damage, car garaged by myself and previous owner. Blue exterior with black top. Exterior in excellent condition, with one small discoloration on the rear bumper (see photo) and one very small ding in the passenger rear wheel arch. Wheels were powder coated (original color) in Dec 2012 to remove some curb rash, with new Bridgestone Continental EC tires (recommended from by other Spyder owners as a good match for the car) installed then as well. Black brake calipers from factory. Convertible top is in excellent condition. Interior is tobacco brown leather with black trim. Excellent condition and really works well on this car. Automatic seats. Engine is great, a 410 hp 4.2L V-8 built at the Ferrari plant and the reason I bought this car. Wonderful exhaust note and a pleasure to drive. All service completed at Ferrari/Maserati of San Diego and top local independent Ferrari shop-completed annual service in 2010, 2011, and 2012, all maintenance receipts available. Last annual service completed Sep 2012, passed last California smog check in March 2012. At this service, replaced drive belt, lower radiator hose, and completed flush of all fluids. Drivers side exterior key lock does not work (I normally use the remote to lock and unlock the car). Front and rear brake pads have 10mm (about 50%) remaining. Clutch is in good condition with no slipping or other issues. 6 speed manual transmission, works extremely well with no issues-better choice than the more complex cambiocorsa automatic on these early Spyders. Upgraded 200w "Auditorium" sound system from factory-6 Disc rear CD changer, with CD in cabin as well. No major issues in the past three years, only non-regular maintenance was replacing the passenger seat switch. Includes all books, Nav disc, key fob and valet key fob. Factory rear wind deflector included. This is one of the nicer earlier Maserati Spyders I've seen, consistently gets positive comments from people. Car was originally purchased new in Oregon, has been in Southern California since 2005. I've owned the car since 2010-sad to see it go, but need to sell to make room for a Sunbeam Tiger.

FCA is setting a five-year strategy: Here's how the last one played out
Thu, May 31 2018We're slightly more than four years removed from Sergio Marchionne last five-year plan for FCA, a tell-all where the Italian-American automaker divulged its plans for the 2014 through 2018 model years. It was a grand affair, where Sergio told FCA investors that all was right in Auburn Hills, Alfa Romeo and Maserati were making comebacks, and the fifth-gen Dodge Viper received a mid-cycle refresh. You can read every last one of those past predictions right here. We're on our way to Europe to see Sergio's sequel, coming out Friday straight from FCA's Italian headquarters. (Bloomberg reports a plan to expand Jeep and Ram globally, combine Alfa Romeo and Maserati into a single division for an eventual spinoff, and downsizing Fiat and Chrysler. Also, EVs.) But before we arrive in Italy and find out exactly what Marchionne has planned for 2019 through 2023 as his last act as CEO, let's take a minute to tally up the results of his last term based on the same scoresheet we used in 2014. Now, we're only five months into 2018, so much of this — including vehicles like the Ram HD and Jeep Grand Wagoneer — could still debut this year. For those, we'll mark things TBD. We're not going to draw any conclusions or make any objectionable remarks. We're simply going to let the stats speak for themselves.
2018 Maserati Ghibli gets new lights and grille
Tue, Mar 14 2017It's been nearly four years since Maserati introduced the 2014 Ghibli, and it's soldiered on largely unchanged. Finally, Maserati is prepping a respectable facelift front and rear. The changes seem to be concentrated on headlights and grilles. The lights now appear to have a chrome or aluminum highlight that curves upward, dividing the LED running lights from the rest of the lighting. This is a distinct difference from the current highlight that curves downward. Also, the grille now looks to have a more rounded shape, closer to the oval grilles of early- and mid-2000s Maseratis. The lower grille also seems to have smaller inlets at each corner. At the back, the rear bumper has clearly been reworked. Unfortunately, the giant black diaper covering it reveals absolutely nothing. Aside from these changes, the rest of the new Ghibli looks the same. Because this is clearly a mid-cycle refresh, we expect to see the car fully revealed by the end of the year, with vehicles hitting the lots early next year. Related Video:
Maserati Alfieri Concept seen and heard in early leak [w/video]
Mon, 03 Mar 2014As is so often the case ahead of a major debut, somebody wasn't able to keep the latest concept car from Maserati under wraps all the way until the drawing of its curtain at the Geneva Motor Show. The low-slung silver coupe you see above is said to be the Maserati Alfieri Concept, and, though these images aren't exactly the greatest, it looks pretty good. We like the small proportions of the Alfieri and the aggressive look of the car's front and rear fascias, and we certainly note a more assertive design than the Granturismo it would likely replace.
Rumor has it that both V6 and V8 engines may be on the table, mounted up front and driving either the rear or all four wheels, but we'll have to wait for official confirmation before we know for sure. In any case, this new Maserati, if it does go into production, is tipped to line up against such sporting contenders as the Jaguar F-Type and Porsche 911. Check out the two leaked images above, watch and listen to the car move under its own power in the video below, and feel free to let us know what you think in the Comments.
