Can't drive 55?  Viagra not working?  Like to drive fast?  You need this Maserati!

This car is being sold "as is" with a clean Texas title and 100% of the money goes to Texas Husky Rescue. This great hard working group rescues Husky dogs.

Here we offer a hot little Maserati five speed convertible with twin turbos and a rare Nardi steering wheel that some people want $1800.00 or more for.   This particular car has an excellent engine and both turbos are operating. These cars are extremely fast and lots of fun. This car has been in storage since 1997 and has been started and driven in a parking lot several times a year. The engine has Royal Purple synthetic oil. The inside of the oil pan is spotlessly clean. The car has a Alpine stereo with a CD changer in the trunk.

The Spyder  was introduced in the Turin Motor Show in 1984. The car was designed and built by Zagato.  The aluminum 90 degree SOHC Maserati V6 engine was roughly based on the 2.0L Merak engine based on earlier V8 Formula One Maserati engines designed by Giulio Alfieri

This Maserati had a great deal of expensive mechanical rebuilding work completed in the 1990’s such as the front suspension was rebuilt with new ball joints, KONI shocks and bushings. The steering system had the power steering pump and steering rack replaced along with the hoses. The tie rod ends were replaced as well. The front end has been aligned.

1.  The front and rear brake calipers were removed and rebuilt with new pistons, brake hoses, brake pads and all four brake rotors were replaced. The front wheel bearings were replaced.

2.The engine received valve cover gaskets with the valves being adjusted. The fuel injectors were removed and cleaned. The spark plugs, cap, rotor and ignition cables were replaced. The oil pan was removed and cleaned. A new timing belt was installed. New motor mounts were installed.

3.A new factory muffler was installed with new hangers

4.New radiator hoses were installed along with a new radiator

5.A new fuse box was installed with a new starter

The car needs:

1. new battery  ( available anywhere)

2. new tires  (common size)

3. new top  ( We can supply a new factory top)

4.  a dash clock   ( available upon special order)

5, clutch master cylinder rebuild  (The car has a new slave cylinder.)

6. repaint

The first and previous owner ( same fellow) of this car spent  $20,400 on various mechanical rebuilding work and the car was placed into storage. His loss is your gain. The interior is the original leather with no rips. This car is very tight, handles very well and the engine runs extremely strong.  For sale without reserve, get yourself a real bargain on a classic convertible and all the money goes to Texas Husky Rescue.

We have lots more photos and can send them right to you.

Stellantis ready to kill brands and fix U.S. problems, CEO Tavares says

Thu, Jul 25 2024

MILAN — Stellantis is taking steps to fix weak margins and high inventory at its U.S. operations and will not hesitate to axe underperforming brands in its sprawling portfolio, its chief executive Carlos Tavares said on Thursday. The warning for lossmaking brands is a turnaround for Tavares, who has maintained since Stellantis was created in 2021 from the merger of Italian-American automaker Fiat Chrysler and France's PSA that all of its 14 brands including Maserati, Fiat, Peugeot and Jeep have a future. "If they don't make money, we'll shut them down," Carlos Tavares told reporters after the world's No. 4 automaker delivered worse-than-expected first-half results, sending its shares down as much as 10%. "We cannot afford to have brands that do not make money." The automaker now also considers China's Leapmotor as its 15th brand, after it agreed to a broad cooperation with the group. Stellantis does not release figures for individual brands, except for Maserati which reported an 82 million euro adjusted operating loss in the first half. Some analysts say Maserati could possibly be a target for a sale by Stellantis, while other brands such as Lancia or DS might be at risk of being scrapped given their marginal contribution to the group's overall sales. Stellantis' Milan-listed shares were down as much as 12.5% on Thursday, hitting their lowest since August 2023. That brings the loss for the year so far to 22%, making them the worst performer among the major European automakers. Few automotive brands have been killed off since General Motors ditched the unprofitable Saturn and Pontiac during a U.S. government-led bankruptcy in the global financial crisis in 2008. Tavares is under pressure to revive flagging margins and sales and cut inventory in the United States as Stellantis bets on the launch of 20 new models this year which it hopes will boost profitability. Recent poor results from global carmakers have heightened worries about a weakening outlook for sales across major markets such as the U.S., whilst they also juggle an expensive transition to electric vehicles and growing competition from cheaper Chinese rivals. Japan's Nissan Motor saw first-quarter profit almost completely wiped out on Thursday and slashed its annual outlook, as deep discounting in the United States shredded its margins. Tavares said he would be working through the summer with his U.S. team on how to improve performance and cut inventory.

Maserati Levante Trofeo gets a twin-turbo V8 transplant from Ferrari

Wed, Mar 28 2018

With 590 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque, the 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine powering the all-wheel-drive Levante Trofeo boasts more power-per-liter than any engine previously installed in a Maserati. Not surprisingly, the engine and its 156-hp-per-liter output are the product of the men from Maranello. The Ferrari-built V8 pushes the Levante Trofeo to 60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 187 mph. Big power isn't all that makes the Trofeo special. Maserati says its top-shelf Levante boasts a 50:50 weight distribution and a Corsa (race) mode, which means this 'ute ought to be a mighty fine steer. Launch control makes the ludicrous acceleration a repeatable affair, should drivers so desire to rearrange the faces of their passengers at every green light. Maserati Integrated Vehicle Control is supposed to seamlessly prevent driver mistakes instead of correcting them after the fact, as a traditional stability control system would do. In what we assume must be a joke, there's also an Off-Road mode. The interior of the Levante Trefeo is swathed in what Maserati calls "Pieno Fiore" natural leather that is supposed to wear uniquely with age. It's offered in black, red, and tan, all with contrast stitching. The limited launch edition you see here has massive 22-inch matte-finish wheels, matte black paint, glossy carbon fiber exterior bits and matte carbon interior trim. It'll come with a plaque featuring the owner's name and a serial number, but Maserati is only saying a "small number" will be built without giving an exact figure. We'll have to wait for official pricing information and availability, but we're sure it won't come cheap. Related Video:

2014 Maserati Ghibli prototype spied for the first time

Mon, 17 Dec 2012

Looking to better compete with mainstream luxury automakers, Maserati has already announced its plans for expanding its model lineup. Now, these spy shots give us our first look at a new, smaller sedan that resurrects the Maserati Ghibli nameplate. Seen for the first time as a prototype rather than a Quattroporte-based test-mule, this is the closest-to-production view of the upcoming Ghibli thus far.
Aside from its name, we don't know much about the 2014 Ghibli, but we do hear that this Maserati, like the upcoming Maserati Levante SUV, will have a direct lineage to a Chrysler product. While the Levante will be based on the Jeep Grand Cherokee, it sounds like the Ghibli could use the Chrysler 300 as its starting point. This means that the standard version of the car could get Chrysler's 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 - rumored to produce around 400 horsepower - paired with the latest eight-speed automatic transmission; sportier trim levels would almost certainly get a V8 from Ferrari rather than using the 300C's Hemi.
As for some of the details apparent in the spy photos, we can obviously see the size difference between these two cars when comparing previous spy shots of the newly released 2014 Quattroporte, which we drove last week. We also see that this car gets some performance-oriented, cross-drilled brake rotors, and based on the depth of the snow in which this car was caught testing, we also wouldn't rule out the use of all-wheel-drive on the Ghibli.
