1962 Corvair Monza Spyder Convertible With Manual Transmission. Extremely Rare! on 2040-cars
Omaha, Nebraska, United States
This is an extremely rare opportunity to own a barn find Corvair Spyder convertible 3 speed! As seen in the pictures this vehicle was in a forgotten private collection stored inside a sealed shed for over 30 years. The collection was only opened up after the owner passed away. I purchased this vehicle solely for the purpose of selling it to someone who will bring her back to life. I'm no body guy but it seems to have survived very well. The paint appears to be a repaint but with the exception of some chipping around a dent on the passenger side it seems to be in good condition. We removed the lower trim pieces & the rockers are in good shape. What we can see of the wheel wells appears to be rust free. Drivers side floor plan will need replaced, that's the only non-surface rust we saw. Engine turns over well with a battery but has no spark, we did not attempt to change any parts or to get it running. Interior is in GREAT condition & just needs cleaned up & a few touch ups. Top is perfect also. Glass is all good. This car is VERY savable & very desirable. Anyone who knows corvairs knows there are none rarer than a red spyder 3 speed convertible. FEEL FREE TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS. I WILL BE AS HONEST AS POSSIBLE! CHECK MY PERFECT FEEDBACK SCORE TO SEE FEEDBACK ON ALL THE OTHER CARS I HAVE SOLD ON EBAY. I AM NOT HERE TO SCAM ANYONE OR HIDE ANYTHING. YOU WANT BETTER PICTURES OF SOMETHING, JUST ASK!!

Maserati Levante crossover not Jeep based after all?
Thu, 20 Feb 2014Maserati has been teasing its crossover project since 2011, which is when it first showed off the Kubang concept (pictured above). Still, the production version, rumored to be called the Levante, remains a complete mystery. The CUV was first rumored to borrow the platform from the Jeep Grand Cherokee, but new rumors indicate that the Italian, luxury crossover might actually take the underpinnings from the Quattroporte and Ghibli.
In a brief interview, Maserati CEO Harald Wester told CNN Money that the Levante wouldn't use Jeep's platform. Motor Trend spoke with an unnamed Maserati engineer who confirmed the rumor. Officially, the company says that no decision has been made.
We can add this to another long list of rumors about the Italian CUV. It was originally supposed to be built at Chrysler's Jefferson North assembly plant in Detroit. Then, plans were changed to build it in Italy.
Maserati plans to launch Alfieri and GranTurismo by 2018
Fri, Apr 22 2016Maserati reportedly aims to have the next GranTurismo and the Alfieri (concept above) on the market by the end of 2018. According to Drive, we should see the GT sometime in 2017, and the production Alfieri doesn't arrive until 2018. The company's five-year plan in 2014 originally slated the Alfieri to arrive first in 2016 and the GranTurismo in 2018. The Alfieri will have a modified version of Maserati's current chassis, but the tweaks will incorporate more aluminum, which will make the new sports coupe lighter. "Today the architecture is shared between Ghibli, Quattroporte, and Levante," Maserati engineer Davide Danesin told Drive. "With the Alfieri we think we need to make another step on the architecture so we're going to arrive at another more sporty architecture, with some common basis but with development from there." The Alfieri and GranTurismo will also likely use Maserati's latest turbocharged V6 and V8 engines. However, the power will only go to the rear wheels because the company doesn't think all-wheel drive is right for them. "So let's say for the next sports car we don't foresee all-wheel drive to be the best option for the style. We also have some solution for some sports cars with all-wheel drive for the future but that is not what we're working on now," Danesin told Drive. After the stunning concept in 2014, the longer wait for the production Alfieri is disappointing, but at least the model appears to be still on the way. Recent rumors suggested the 2+2 sports coupe was on hold because of the weakening market in China. Company boss Harald Wester also refused to speculate about the model's future at the Geneva Motor Show, but he said the GranTurismo would arrive first. Related Video:
