6 Speed Manual Transmission, Black On Black on 2040-cars
Austin, Texas, United States
If you want to actually DRIVE a luxury sports car.... This is your car... With a 6 speed manual, you are in control! No paddle shifters here, this is a stick, for the sport enthusiast. If it's luxury you're after.... The optional, all leather headliner to match the all leather dash, console, & seats will make you drool. For a tiny bit of practicality, the leather bucket back seats actually DO accommodate an adult... facing forward. Italian exotic for less than a Camry! This car does it all.. It roars to 60 in under 5 seconds; carries 4 people and weekend luggage; cruises the countryside; loves the twists [sport button tightens the suspension]; turns heads [designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro]; and is more than happy to take care of the daily grind. It's been in our care since 10/2008 when it had 8000 miles. It's mostly been just a toy to take out intermittently to remind us of the good things in life. It's in great shape with just the expected minor flaws. Everything is in great working condition including A/C that blows cold. All maintenance records included with vehicle, and all maintenance done per Maserati recommendations. The clutch was replaced at Austin Maserati dealer less than 5k miles ago. Engine: 4.2 liter, V8, 398hp Tranny: 6 speed Weight: 3700 lbs. NOTE: See last four pictures for blemishes: the drivers seat has expected wear on door side, front grill has cosmetic blemish, paint chip on trim strip hidden behind passenger side mirror. The control buttons in these cars tend to become sticky over time and cleaning removes the black (buttons can be refinished per Maserati forums by StickyNoMore or diy steps). We have invested many hours cleaning the sticky vents and door handle housing with excellent results. The console navigation disc housing cracked during cleaning (can be replaced with new or refinished to look new by the company above). There is a repaired chip in passenger side windshield (size hasn't changed since 2008). BB size chip with total size, including projections, less than nickel. If there is a view you would like to see, please convo me and I'll send additional pictures. eBay limits to 24. |

2014 Monterey Motorsports Reunion is a symphony of classic racers
Mon, Aug 18 2014With about 550 classic racecars lapping Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca over the course of the weekend, the Monterey Motorsports Reunion might be one of the largest vintage racing events in the country, maybe even the world. It was certainly one of the highlights of the lavish Monterey festivities last weekend. This year's featured marque was Maserati, which was celebrating its 100th anniversary, and plenty of trident logos could be found on track, ranging from the 250F grand prix car to some of the company's later sports cars. Of course, with 15 groups of classic racers, there was basically something for any motorsports fan. Among the highlights were the Trans-Am race that brought together rumbling hunks of American muscle to jostle for position on track. There was also a fantastic class from the '50s and '60s with Ferraris, Corvettes and even a Volvo P1800 and Toyota S800 racing together. Watching these iconic racers back on track at full pace was just a revelation to see, smell and hear. There were too many fantastic cars to list them all, but feel free to check out Autoblog's huge gallery from Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca to see if you spot your favorite racecars of yesteryear. Maserati bringing a car that "opens up new frontiers" to Paris
Fri, 07 Sep 2012We're not expecting to see a production version of the coming mid-engined Maserati coupe, expected to be named GranSport, for another few years; however, we might see it in concept form in just a few weeks at the Paris Motor Show. Australian site Car Advice got hold of an e-mail Maserati sent to friends of the Trident, and the first of the six cars mentioned is a "world premiere of a car that opens up new frontiers in terms of exclusiveness, performance and style."
Car Advice says it has been told that this will be a concept form of the GranSport, the GranTurismo replacement set to take on the Porsche 911 with ample use of carbon fiber and a 1,200-kilogram (2,600-pound) curb weight or thereabouts. The GranTurismo's 4.7-liter V8 hasn't been ruled out of the engine bay yet according to reports, but rumors persist that it will use the Ferrari-sourced twin-turbo V6 with 442 horsepower running power to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, and have a 0-60 time of something like four seconds.
We can't see the full content of the e-mail, but among the other five cars that have been announced for the stand are the GranTurismo Sport and GranTurismo MC Stradale. With the 2014 Quattroporte not appearing until the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, the Kubang concept said to be retired before the debut of the production version at the 2014 Detroit show and the Levante still just a wee mule, guesses for the three remaining three would be variations on current models. Not that there's anything wrong with that when it's Maserati we're talking about...
Alfa Romeo Giulia to get Ferrari-related engine
Fri, Jun 19 2015Alfa Romeo has a long, proud history of using V6 engines in its coupes, sedans, and sports cars over the years, but as the new Giulia sedan approaches, the Italian marque is allegedly turning to Ferrari for its next six-cylinder. This is obviously not the first time a Ferrari-sourced or derived engine has been found under an Alfa's long hood. While 8C Competizione famously used a version of Ferrari's F136 V8 during its short run, the Giulia's new V6 will be offered on a much larger scale, slotting in above an entry level, four-cylinder turbo (likely the next-gen version of the 4C sports car's 1.75-liter engine). According to Autocar, the new V6 will be "specially developed for Alfa Romeo," and will be built at the Termoli engine factory alongside the new turbo four-cylinder. As for the rest of the Giulia, Autocar has been able to shine a light on a number of other details about the new midsizer. It will, thankfully, be rear-wheel drive, and designed to counter the "mostly cold and clinical" and soulless cars of the German competition, Maserati chief Harald Wester told AC. Some of the new sedan's structural elements will even be shared with Maserati's entry level model, the Ghibli. Most notable of all, though, is what the Giulia means for American consumers. After the limited-run 8C and the niche 4C, the new sedan will lead Alfa Romeo's long-awaited, large-scale return, where it will combat the popular BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4, not to mention rivals like the Cadillac ATS and Lexus IS. Look for more on the Giulia next week when it's officially revealed in Milan.
