This is your opportunity to purchase the well known Plumley TD with a Corvette enigine. It is the TD that you have read about in numerous magazines over the last several years. It has a clear Florida title.

The Plumley Special was a complete nut and bolt restoration of a 1953 MG TD. While being restored, it was decided to replace the anemic TD engine with a rebuilt 1974 Corvette engine (Holley carb and Delco-Remy HEI distributor.) The exhaust is custom made with 2 1/2" pipes feeding into turbo mufflers and exiting in front of the rear wheels. The transmission was replaced with a Borg Warner T5 unit from a 1985 Camaro. A monoleaf hoop rear end was sourced from a 1964 Corvette and was narrowed to properly fit the fender openings. Front suspension is from a 1965 Chevrolet Corvair and includes S10 disc brakes and Corvette drum brakes in the rear. Steering remains a narrowed MG rack and pinion unit with an original steering wheel. The aluminum radiator is custom made to prevent overheating. There is an electric fan and separate engine oil cooler.

Wheels are sourced from a Chevrolet and are 15x7 Rally units with three wing spinners.

All TD gauges were replaced with TPI gauges and all work correctly.

An EZ wire harness replaced the original TD harness.

Stock seats and side panels were replaced with new units and Fatmat sound deadener was used under new carpeting.

The paint is PPG Baltic Blue in show condition. Front and rear bumpers are new as are headlights with integral turn signals.

This is NOT a project car. It is a complete, well thought out reconstruction of a 1953 MGTD. It needs NOTHING!!

Get in, start it up (women will grab their children and run for the hills) and beat every Corvette, Viper and most other cars on the road. IT IS AWESOME!
