This gorgeous example of British automobile history spent all it's life in the dry climate of Southern California and retains its original TD2 engine and transmission. Purchased in 2005 from the original owner in Del Mar, Calif., the MG underwent an extensive and expensive nut and bolt restoration during which the following works were performed:

- complete engine rebuilt

- frame off repaint in glossy black (original was red) by "A better Fix" in San Diego

- seats reupholstered in biscuit cream leather by renowned saddlery in San Diego

- all bright work was replated

- all rubber was replaced

- the wiring harness was replaced, all electrical connections were renewed

- 5 new Pirelli Classic tires were installed

- a new battery was installed

Unfortunately, upon completion of the restoration (receipts exceeding 30000USD are readily available), personal reasons forced us to put the car in climate controlled indoors storage until last Summer.

During the last months, the car underwent a sympathetic refresh consisting of the following works performed at high skill level:

- original SU carburettors were completely cleaned and rebuilt

- fuel pump diaphragm was replaced

- new ignition cap, rotor, points and wires were installed, ignition timing was adjusted

- the rear sealing gasket was replaced

- all fluids were replaced

The car starts at 1/4 crank and shifts and stops like new. Everything is in good working order, including the complete electrical system. It is a blast to drive and one of the last opportunities to feel that British flair of the late 1940ies / early 50ies. Over the last 8 years, the car was driven less than 200 miles, however, it developed a lovely patina which adds to the beauty of this automobile. The car comes with its original tonneau cover, which is in excellent shape as well as with the full documentation from day one including service and maintenance books, receipts, etc. The tires are basically brand new and hold air perfectly, however, they were produced in 2004.
