We are selling a 1971 MG Midget that is reasonably complete and will make a good base line project or can be used for a platform for a vintage race car. The round wheel arch body is desireable for either option, but is especially sought out by vintage racers that want to run a wider tire configuration. The engine in the car is the late 1275 cc and it starts and runs well. The transmission is set-up in neutral and we have not made any effort to determine the issues. This is currently a wire wheel car but conversion to steel wheel can be acomplished without much effort. The body is generally sound in all the areas that make this type car a good, restorable candidate. Trunk floor, inner sills and outer rocker panels, rear fenders and front apron are all sound with no rust through and no Bondo. The right front fender has the normal rust at the skirt above the rocker. Run a magnet over this body and it is obvious that all the steel is there and sound. The floors are gone with obvious rusted out areas. The hood has rust through at the leading edge, typical of this car. All of the glass is there and in fair to good condition. There is no title to this car. We bought it for a parts car but decided it still had potential as a restoration or racer. We are selling the car as is where is. It rolls and will be easy to trailer.
Now the good news.....we have some rib-case transmissions, steel wheel rears and Rostyle wheels, a solid replacement hood, several fenders, doors, some body repair sections, seats and lots of other parts for MG Midgets. Some pieces we will throw in if the price we want meets or exceeds expectations. But in any case all other parts are available for sale and negotiable to the high bidder.
