1976 MG Midget Convertible 1500cc

Just completed a major mechanical refreshment, including complete body sandblasted, new floor pans welded into place, new paint, new convertible top,

complete new interior including seat covers, webbing and foam, new seat belt guide sets, new seat slide rails, new carpet, door panels, door check straps & all interior trim panels. New taillight, turn and back up lenses, new side marker lamps and lenses, new headlight trim rings. Tires new all around, new lug nuts, new wheel centers and wheel trim rings. New exterior badging. New clutch and pressure plate. Carburator rebuilt. New MG embroidered floor mats. New stop light switch and headlight wire harness. New polished 'MG' logo scuff plates. New stainless steel license plate frame, new chrome license plate lights. Exhaust system refreshed with new hangers and hanger kits. New windshield wipers and wiper arms. New rubber gaskets complete, including windshield, windows seals and doors.

For you MG lovers and mechanics out there, here's your chance to own a car that needs a little TLC to get it to absolutely perfect condition - tachometer doesn't work, some electrical items have not been connected, a blank off plate has been installed in the former location of the radio and the glove box has not been reinstalled. The major problem is an oil leak that appears to be coming from the front seal.

Engine starts and runs great with front and rear seals replaced, new oil pan gasket, new oil separation system. I cannot say whether the 82,599 miles is correct or not.

The car is being sold 'as-is' and is not perfect, with the understanding that the car is the majority of the way through a major reconditioning - if the oil leak were fixed, the car would be a great car for shows, great driver and an absolutely great looking car. All of the appearance items, both inside and out, have been totally rebuilt and are in great condition. I am an American muscle car guy that purchased this car in an effort to learn the car, completely refresh the car and sell it....well, 90% of the car is complete and looks great, but I am absolutely tired of chasing leaks. A crankcase ventilation system has been installed and resulted in no oil being pumped out of the oil filler tube. However, an oil leak is still present along the front of the engine, I don't know for sure the cause, possibly a front seal. Honestly, I am not a British sports car expert, this car is so close to a complete and wonderful restoration that someone that knows and loves MG Midgets & British motors would have a great car with a great, mostly complete restoration!
