1979 Mg Midget Mk Iv Convertible 2-door 1.5l on 2040-cars
Glen Allen, Virginia, United States
For sale is a 1979 MG Convertible with 57,795 miles on it. I have only had the MG several months and just recently I have began to awaken her from her 10 year sleep. It needs everything you would expect to go bad while sitting: brake components, clutch components, tune up, all new rubber lines and gas, etc. It needs some parts put back on it that I would include: mirrors, headlights etc. It also needs the wiring reconnected under the hood and sorted in the interior. It's missing the nut that holds on the valve cover but a few weeks ago we implemented one at a friends MG shop and it ran just fine, it just needs the carbs tweaked. He said it was an awesome example! There's no rust on the car except for a dime size surface rust spot in front of the left rear tire and the driver side floor pan. I don't know if the floor pan is really rusted and needs replacement or if its just surface rust. There's holes in the floor pan but to me they look like they may be factory as they look man made and round. You can jump on the floor pan and it feels solid. That's the only rust anywhere! The interior is a 7/10 with one small split in the seat, 2 splits in the dash as well as a few small splits in the top. Since I've had it I've cleaned it thoroughly, put the better top that I had for it on, put brand new correct size tires on it, and put a new battery in it. In addition to the car I have 4 boxes of parts that include everything you see missing, as well as extras that you could sell for a healthy profit or use to build another MG mechanically. There are also much larger parts such as spare bumpers, a trunk lid, extra rims, and even a new engine in good running condition that could be sold for profit. Hagerty Insurance shows 1979 MGs in its condition selling for $2000-$3000 and that's without the extra parts and engine we have. After some minor work that would take a few days you could have a great small distance daily driver or great weekend cruiser. If you have any questions feel free to message me.
