This is a rescued MG Midget that had been sitting for 15 years. The last registration was in 1974. The engine was seized due to an overheating/head gasket problem. The engine was not repairable due to a cracked block and water damage inside. I found a 1975 1500 engine that ran and disassembled to rebuild. The engine had been rebored and the crank reground previously. Honed the cylinders and reringed the flat top pistons. Reconditioned the rods and replaced wrist pin bushings. New rod bolts. New thrust washers and rod and main bearings. new seals front and rear - new timing chain and tensioner. New head studs and flanged head nuts .Valve job done on another head due to cracks found on exhaust seats. Aftermarket valve stem seals installed. New water pump and thermostat. New hoses as necessary. New clutch kit and pilot bearing. New clutch master cylinder and slave . New brake master cylinder and rear brake cylinders. Rear shoes like new. No leaks at front calipers- car stops straight and smooth. Oil pressure normal. New belts. All smog equipment operational. Car is a Federal car and doesn't require a catalytic converter. Has not been smogged but should pass. Engine compartment cleaned and repainted to original color- 4 new tires. spare wheel -no tire.(was missing the spare, but found a matching wheel.) Transmission is all synchro type and is smooth and quiet. Oil drained and refilled. Rear axle is quiet. Top has been replaced and in fair condition. Seats could use new covers and work on the release mechanism. Door panels serviceable. New window crank handles. New door check strap drivers side. Has had a previous repaint and stick-on side mouldings installed- there are some rust issues on both sides front fenders and some dings in the trunk lid. Floors are solid as is the trunk. Temp gage works, repaired float on gas tank sender and gage works. Speedometer and tach works. Fog lights work. . Replaced turn signal switch assembly. Replaced ignition lock assembly as key was lost. Replaced hazard warning switch. Replaced rear lenses and backup lenses. Horns do not work. Heater box removed and repainted- fan works. Heater valve not connected to cable but works manually. Manual choke installed. Early distributor installed. Fuel tank was clean- no rust but added filter to pre pump line. No radio or antenna installed-
