History & Condition:

This little car has been my project for the past two years. When I purchased the Midget it was setting in a field that it had been setting it for at least 9 years. Before that it had been driven off and on. When I bought it it was rough and I can get you some pictures if you want. I took the carburetor off in the field and had it rebuilt. The duel oil pressure/temp gauge doesn’t work to added two separate gauges. Then gave the engine a tune-up, replaced hoses and the batterie, changed fluids and put the carburetor back on while it was still in the field. Got the engine running before it moved from the field. Took the seats out to be redone and replaced the floor. Put in new carpeting with sound/heat insulation under. To ensure a strong body the exterior was stripped down primed and repainted. Had the rims painted black and put new tires and wheel trim rings. Replaced the fuel pump and coil and shifter lever, emergency brake cable, hood release cable, manual choke cable. Got the car running put back together. Then had it taken to a local MG specialist where they replaced all the light bulbs, horns, wiper switch, hazards switch, checked all the wiring and made sure all the lights were working properly. They also installed the new convertible top.

Last fall the car was registered and inspected in Vermont and we drove it around a bit. Also had a new CD player and speakers installed. It starts and drives well. I haven’t driven it a lot yet and don’t plan to. It does have a vibration that I believe is the transmission mounts needing to be replaced. A common issue I’m told for these cars and not and expensive fix. It also need the interior panels replaced and a new glovebox. The windshield is old and weathered, I also just noticed a small chip. The right rear reflector needs some attention. The odometer does not go up to 100,000 so I have no idea if it is showing the correct miles or if it went over 100,000. Also in Vermont you don’t have to have a title on a vehicle over 15 years old, we do not have a title for this vehicle, but a bill of sale to us and a bill of sale to the buyer will come with the vehicle.

This has been a fun, but exhausting not to mention expensive project, but I’m starting another project. Whoever gets this Midget will not only be able to get their hands dirty finishing it up, but also enjoy driving it immediately. I have already invested a lot of time and money and my investment is honestly your savings with this one. I just hope its next owner enjoys it.

Deposit: Deposit of $500 must be paid within 24 hours of auction close. Payment: Items will not be available for pickup or shipping until full payment is received and cleared by our local bank. Buyer has 7 days to pay. The vehicle is available for local pick-up and buyer is responsible for any and all cost to pick-up vehicle. Availability: We reserve the right to remove this listing due to on-site sales.
