A terrific little car.

 This super low mile (54,714) British Racing Green MG is a well preserved example of a 43 year old car.

 

Body

The body is very straight with solid original floors and rocker panels. The undercarriage shows no signs of moisture at all. The inner valances, inner rockers and all the nooks and crannies look clean, straight and original (please see undercarriage photos). This car has been repainted and there are several flaws (one tiny paint chip and fisheyes in several areas) but it still shows well & is an original BRG car. This car still has the factory Alloy hood, nicely powder coated wire wheels and the rare (1970 only) split rear bumper. The bumpers are straight, but the chrome is spotty and dull.            

              Interior      

The seats look to have been recovered and I have installed a new carpet set. The door panels, headliner and dash are nice but not perfect. The lights, turn signals, horn, Speedo, Tach and oil pressure gauges work, but the fuel gauge does not work.  The factory AM radio will produce sound, but the factory speaker is long gone.  And there is a dash cap on the original dash board.

         Engine

The engine bay is very original, with the proper SU carbs and air cleaners. The engine starts right up, does not leak or smoke and has no ill sounds whatsoever. This little engine is very peppy and runs at 70+ psi oil pressure. (see gauge picture, while traveling down the road).

          Summary

I have personally driven this car on several out of town road trips, and feel it is a dependable and capable car. The engine, clutch, brakes and 4 speed transmission all work well together.  If you have been looking for a super dry British Racing Green GT to restore, or just a terrific little daily driver, this is it!

One of my favorites... the MGB GT is another great design by Pininfarina. The sporty coupe/hatchbacks offer a solid feel on the road and far more luggage space than a roadster.
