Please read carefully!

This 1977 MGB is virtually rust free, the only rust I have found is a little surface rust inside the trunk underneath the trunk carpet, carpet must have gotten wet at one time or another, and a few very small spots near fender seams. This car has definitely been repainted and it was not a great job. There are no runs but prep work was poor and paint quality questionable. As mentioned above this vehicle was purchased as a vehicle that was not running, engine is not the original engine but is an 1800. Cylinders were honed and new rings installed, valves were done, and rod bearings installed, main bears are with car, but have not been installed. Engine runs reasonably well but radiator needs to be flushed or replaced as car over heats when not moving in warm weather, (water pump has been replaced). Interior is not bad and all carpets are in good shape. Top has a few very small holes. Engine does not shut off when key is turned off (common problem with MGB's) so diode needs to be replaced in alternator wiring or relay, several online instructions for repair. Clutch and brakes seem to be in good condition. Car is registered and I have personally driven it over 2000 miles. Front tires are okay, rear tires are at the point they need to be replaced. Car came with a single two barrel Webber carb and performance exhaust header, I replaced carb with dual SU's.

Note: the mileage stated above as 100,000 is incorrect. I have no idea the correct mileage as the engine is not the original. I believe that the mileage on the odometer shows about 75,000 miles and I am not sure how accurate that is either.

I travel between Vermont and SC and am not always where the car is located and may need a couple of days to get to SC, so should you purchase the car, we will need make arrangements to be in Loris at the same time, or with whom ever you have transport the car. Although I know many who would I would not recommend driving it any distance without doing the radiator and checking the car over carefully.

A deposit non refundable deposit of $1000.00 is due through Pay Pal within 24 hours of the end of the auction. I will be there to help load the car, but will not make shipping arrangements. Car must be moved within 15 days of end of auction, or you must make arrangements for storage. I can store the car for up to a couple of months, but prior arrangements must have been made.
