The car has been garage-stored every year from October through May. After all these years, the paint has small nicks and could use a touch up."

Enjoy your summer with a classic British sports car. England's number-one seller, the MGB, has style and handling that's stood the test of time. I have owned this car since September 2000, and I have spent all these years lovingly and meticulously  restoring it. All the major mechanical work has been done. The car comes with the original owner's manual from 1972. The car has been garaged from October to May each year. Naturally, fuel stabilizer has been added.

Through the years, I have spent well over $10,000.00 in restoration. As the pictures show, the engine had a complete rebuild: Pistons bored .030 over, crank ground 0.010, new oil pump, performance cam, lifters, mains, rods, connecting-rod bolts & cam bearings, thrust washers & lock tabs, valve springs, stellite exhaust vales, hardened exhaust seats, intake valves, silicon-bronze guides, head gasket, positive valve seal set, double-row timing chain, gears & tensioner, performance rocker shaft & rocker bushings. If you go to the Brittek.com website, and look for the Major Engine Rebuilding Kit, and the Head Update Kit with larger valves, include the Alloy Valve Cover, the 1/4 performance cam, and you have an idea of all the work put into the engine. I also have recipes from the machine shop.

More performance upgrades include: Exhaust header and performance exhaust system. New oil cooler with new hoses. Rebuilt S.U. carbs with MG crested air filters. New heat shield. Lucas Sport coil, Petronics ignition, new plug wires. I've always used Castrol 20/50 oil. New radiator and hoses. New brake master cylinder, clutch master and slave cylinder. New Borg & Beck clutch. Flywheel checked during time of major engine rebuild, three years ago. I've put approximately 6,000 miles on since rebuild. No engine leaks. Transmission/overdrive had a complete rebuild July 2013.

Rack & Pinion overhaul, this spring. Suspension rear-retaining straps replaced four years ago. Major brake work, last spring. Brakes are like new. Rear axel seals and differential pinion seal replaced. New tires and wire wheels with two-eared spinners about ten years ago. Complete interior rebuild twelve years ago, with sound insulation under the carpet. Floor pans in great condition. New convertible top with zip-out rear window from Moss Motors two years ago.

New inner rockers, dog legs, and new British Racing Green paint eleven years ago. In the early pictures, it has the original Rostyle Wheels. I changed the hubs and it has the splines that the wire wheel cars are supposed to have. Chrome MG threshold plates. New trunk carpet with wheel cover about three years ago.

The tachometer works intermittently, and I have not had it rebuilt. The speedometer isn't completely accurate, as slightly larger tires came with the new wire wheels. The windshield-washer motor doesn't work.  The JVC CD/radio needs to be replaced, as a recent electrical test at Quality Coaches showed that the memory was drawing too much power. Therefore, there is an on/off switch on the new battery.

The MGB is a fun to drive, and I've had it up to 100 mph, without putting the pedal to the floor -- I had pedal room to spare. There is also a great deal of leg room -- much more than you will find in other sports cars of its size. The performance exhaust gives the classic sports-car growl. The MGB definitely has the original British sports-car feel: nimble, responsive and a blast to drive. You feel the road when you drive an MGB. Because of the overdrive and engine/transmission rebuild, you are definitely able to pass other cars on the freeway. Best of all, this car is ready for summer fun. July of 2013, Quality Coaches did a complete mechanical inspection and replaced anything that needed replacing; and with their high standards of excellence, the car had to be mechanically bullet-proof before it left the shop.

I want this car to go to a good home; someone who will take good care of it and appreciate the classic style and sports-car feel that this vehicle has to offer. As mentioned, I've spent years restoring this car. While it doesn't have the power and smoothness of a Porsche Boxster, it definitely has the classic British sports car personality. Britain's' best seller was a legend with a classic style that has stood the test of time. There are also many sources for parts. It is super easy to find parts for these cars; they're simple to work on, and there are also MG clubs that one may join for socializing.

On a sunny day, while you are gliding down the freeway, with the wind rippling through your hair, the stereo blasting out your favorite tunes, this car will put a smile on your face!

Although my original intention was to keep this car for life, I'm now getting married and I'm selling the MG to help with wedding expenses. If you've always wanted one of these cars, have a passion for them, this is the car for you.
