Estate sale of a vintage MGB chrome bumper Roadster.  Vin# GHN3L/75544.  The long time owner of this MGB had a vision to re-create a brand new 1967 MGB Convertible with no expense spared. Truly a checkbook restoration.  The MG is now being offered up for sale with a "very low reserve" in an effort to find a new home for this beloved MGB.

Since the owner had passed away, the information that I received about the MG cannot be confirmed and was conveyed to the best of their knowledge.  The MG has been in dry storage for many years and has only seen daylight a few times while being moved to a new location.  Since I am not an MG enthusiast,  I can only provide the history that I was able to determine based on the many receipts and background information that was provided.  I will detail all of the new parts that were purchased as well as any observations I have noted that aer worth mentioning.  There is of course no substitute for an in person inspection which I highly recommend.  With that said, I will do my best to highlight what has been done to the MG and what is needed to complete the restoration.

As stated, the goal was to re-create a new MGB by doing a ground up nut and bolt restoration.  A concourse restoration was not the goal - it was intended to make a near new "driver" - this was the owner's vision.  I was told that the MG was pretty much rust free to start with, and it was painted and built up from the ground up.  The body/undercarriage is completely rust free.  The rocker panels retain the original factory seams as shown in the pictures.  The receipts show that a new hood was purchased.  All new trim body trim was purchased (Left side needs to be installed, but included).  There is a brand new grill and new front and rear bumpers.  All badges are new as well.  The new hood and driver's side door will require some final fitting.  New windshield gasket as well.

The interior is essentially all brand new.  A new "Moss" interior kit was installed.  This includes a new seat kit, door panels and carpet kit.  New stainless steel "MG" threshold trim.  Brand new "Stayfast top" with zip out rear window.  The convertible top frame was painted to match the tan top.  The dashboard was restored as well as shown in the pictures.  The Seats, Door Panels & Dash need final installation as well as both of the side windows installed.

The Engine compartment looks new with the engine detailed as well.  The receipts show that a new clutch assembly was installed, and new motor mounts were installed.  A brand new wiring harness was purchased and is partially in place.  I do not know when it was last running, but did confirm that the engine rotates freely.  The engine compartment appears to be fairly complete.  It is fitted with a brand "new" radiator and also a "new" gas tank.  All new brake lines were installed as well as a "new" brake and clutch master cylinder.  The pedal assy. still needs to be installed.  I cannot confirm the condition of the engine or transmission (non-overdrive).  Engine number:  1808-U-H  36062.

Tires are all new with restored/wire wheels.

As with any project of this magnitude, there are many details that need to be dealt with to see the project to the end.  As you can see all of the hard work has been completed as well as all of the money being invested.  Over $10,000.00 was spent on this project so, all of the money has been spent.  It really only requires labor at this point to finish this MG.  Would make an easy winter project for the British car enthusiast.

The MG is being sold in "as is" condition with no warranty expressed or implied.  Some of the information that has been provided cannot be confirmed due to the fact that the owner passed away.  I cannot be held responsible for any errors or inaccuracies that may have been inadvertently been provided.  It is up to the buyer to view the MG in person or have someone inspect it on their behalf.

As stated, the MGB represents a wonderful opportunity for the MG enthusiast that is looking for an easy winter project.  Comes with a clear Michigan title.  Sold in "as is" condition with no warranty expressed or implied.
I have done my best to describe the MGB to the best of my ability, however there may be some things that I may have missed.  It is up to the buyer to do due diligence when making a purchase online.  Do not make any assumptions about anything.  Ask any questions that may not have been addressed.  I am not responsible for any errors or erroneous misinformation.  In person inspections are welcome and encouraged.

I will be adding more pictures within the next few days.

For the motivated buyer, I will consider ending the auction early for a serious offer.

"LOW RESERVE AUCTION"

The fine print:  If you have 5 or less feedback transactions, you must contact me prior to bidding.  A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 is due within 24 hours of the auction end.  If the deposit is not received, the MG will be offered to the next highest bidder.  The balance is due within 7 days of the auction end date.  The car must be picked up within 10 days of the auction end date.   A $10.00 per day storage fee will be charged after the 10 days unless prior arrangements have been made.  I have sold several vintage cars to overseas buyers with the buyers being extremely pleased with the sale.    If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me.  I will do my best to answer any questions you may have.
