I bought this car as a project to learn about cars on but now am leaving for college and cant keep the car, it is Rust Free 1978 MGB Roadster with Chrome Bumper Conversion (comes with used chrome bumpers off donor car that just need to be attached to car). Red exterior with new black interior and tons of new parts which include:
- VDO Heritage Gold Series Gauge Set
- Tires
- Seats (new foam, covers, and headrests, drivers seat has small rip and passenger seat needs to be bolted back to car)
- Dash (No cracks but heat has made back pop up a little which could be resealed down but looks fine)
- Carpet Kit (inside car and trunk)
- Door Panels
- Door Caps (new wood and covers)
- Wire Harness (Almost completely installed just needs a few more wires hooked up like rear taillights)
- I believe the brake master cylinder and booster is new or rebuilt
- Steel brake lines front to back
- Emergency Brake Cable
- New Battery
- Electric Holley Fuel pump
- I believe the Clutch Slave or Master Cylinder are also rebuilt
- New Oil, Filter, Coolant, Spark Plugs, and Plug Wires
- Gas Hood Struts
- Electric Fan
- Halogen Headlights
- Convertible Top with zipper out rear window (put on a little while ago so not brand new but very good condition with no rips)
- Converted to Modern fuses (v.s. the original tube fuses)
- Floor covered in Dynamat
- Floor covered in Heatshield Material
- The rear shocks are now tube shocks (on the car when I bought it which I think are not original and are an upgrade)
- Seatbelt's (over the shoulder belt which I believe is a safety upgrade from stock)
- I believe the previous owner also put a new heater core in the heater box but I haven't taken it apart to confirm this
- The center console controls were completely taken apart cleaned and oiled before being reinstalled and work like new
If you were to buy all these parts from Moss Motors you would easily spend over $3,000!!!!
The paint looks okay although not perfect there are some minor dings and imperfections in the paint.
The car is for the most part complete (see pics, what you see in the photos is what you will recieve with car) the biggest thing missing is the grille which is easily available used or new but I believe it has all the parts needed to get the car on the road with the exception of front turn signals. Most of the seals are in very nice condition. I have a pair of stock door speaker covers which will go with the car but are not currently on it. Also I believe the screw that holds the top frame to the body on the drivers side either needs something like a retaining clip to hold it in or a larger screw because if you are not careful when putting the top up and down it pops out.
The car will start and run, it has a webber carb conversion, however it cant be driven until the clutch is hooked up and bled and I would have the brakes and everything checked over. I havent really had a chance to mess with the clutch but I think all it needs is a clevis pin to connect the push rod to the lever. It also will need the wiring finished (small things like taillights hooked up and windshield wiper motor connected correctly, and I would check over the whole system to be safe. The exhaust is also off the car but comes with it and will need to be put on.
The milage on the title says 85,000 but the actual miles are unknown.
I have tried to describe the condition of the car as best I can, If you have any questions or would like a photo of something specific feel free to send me a message through ebay and Ill try to answer them as best I can.
