1980 Mgb Topless Summer Fun!!! on 2040-cars
Overland Park, Kansas, United States
1980 MGB Here's a sweet little Summer Cruiser. We got this car from a family that the last owner had since 1993. Prior to that it was his fathers car. This is an all original survivor. It had always been taken good care of and was garaged its whole life. This is a very tight example of the MGB. The body is very solid which in turn makes this car feel so tight. No rattles going down the road. The previous owner hadn't driven it in a few years, so when we got it we replaced the fuel tank and sending unit for clean fuel delivery. Also installed a new battery. Then just washed it up. The car starts right up, runs great. No smoke or engine noises. Shifts through the gears just fine. Looks as if the electrical is in good shape. All the gauges work except the clock and we haven't looked in to that. Lights, turn signals work. Brake lights work. The interior is in pretty decent shape. As you can see in the photos the drivers seat has a couple of small tears in it. The convertible top is there and functional, but has a small tear above drivers side. The windows are faded, so I would consider replacing the top. Dash has the usual crack in the center, but it is very slight. All glass is good. Window mechs all work. The body on this car is very nice. It wears its original Brooklands Green paint with Autumn Leaf interior. Floorboards are solid, trunk floor solid. Not rusted like most are. There are areas in front of rear wheel arches that have some bubbling, however previous owner said those have been there 20 years without changing. Sure, it has its typical road rash from being 34 years old. A few scrapes and nicks, couple of pings. That's character!. A great car to use as a driver, or a perfect start to a restoration. Its hard to find B's this clean. We are letting this one go due to my health issues, and I just can't work on them anymore. I've had MG's for over 40 years, and we bought this one because of how great the body is. I've seen lots of them and this ones a good one. Due to the fact that its old and it's British it is being sold as-is, no warranties expressed or implied. Have clear open title ready to go. Buyer responsible for all aspects of shipping. Please e-mail any questions before bidding as all sales final. Thanks For Looking!!!!!
